  1. The L7 can be really loud. The only way I liked it was in a huge 5+ ft3 sealed box. You might like the BL 15, but be sure to build a good box for it.
  2. Good luck with your build! 2 15's'xcon : that will be a real groundpounder!!! I'd love to have such a big install. Maybe one day I'll find a HO alt for my car?!
  3. Why do your sub is wired for a 8-ohm load? It would be better to have it at 2 ohms and to turn down the gain on that amplifier. Turn the bastboost OFF please!
  4. Why don't you keep your MB Quart amp ? 2000 watts is a lot for the xcon, so you just turn down the gain. The Audiopipe may be a good match with your sub, but not better than the dsc 2000.1.
  5. Fisher Customs : can't go wrong with them! They design all my boxes, they give you all the drawings, dimensions, everything...
  6. Man, i run an Icon 15 and I love it in a 3.5 cu ft ported box. It sound clear, accurate, and is loud, really loud. It is the first time I feel that I can listen to jazz in my car, not only rap. The Xcon is in the same spot, but is really LOUDER ! I have one on his way : I'm waiting on UPS!!! The Xcon seems to define exactly what you need : punchiness and accuracy !!! You can play it in sealed or ported boxes (don't need to tune so low : 32hz should be good). Go to the ssa section on this forum, you'll find some reviews. Good luck!
  7. Hi , from Martinique !!! Welcome
  8. It seems that you want a reliable amplifier. Sundown FTW !!! I've never used Hifonics amps, but I've read too much bad things on them. Maybe the new models are better. I would choose a refurb Sundown from db-r rather than a new Hifonics. db-r gives you a one-year warranty and a rally good and tested product. BTW these amps are on sale right now at Sundown, at the SSA store, and at db-r ! It's up to you now. Do the right move!
  9. If you already have the money, and you really want something, go buy a Sundown 1500. Like Jay-Cee told you, they're on sale, at db-r.com I think. When your amp will die, there might not be any sale on the Sundown !!! It's Xmas time : pull the trigger if you can afford it !
  10. It makes me wanna try my Xcon sealed ! But the ported box is ready yet for my coming 15" Xcon. When my box will fall apart, maybe I will try it sealed. Thanks for your review, Lancelot. Merry Xmas !!!

Focal makes 2Ohms speakers, JBL too, and lot of others... It's a way to use the most power out of your amplifier, or to buy smaller amps that will play at 2 Ohms.
  12. 2200 watts on a stock 105 amp alt : I would love to know that it can work, but it's electricity and mechanics, not magic !!! You would kill your amp, or/and your alternator, or/and your battery very very quickly. Believe it or not, it's like that. I think that above 1000-1500 watts, you NEED some electrical upgrades.
  13. There is a big sale going on at db-r on Sundown amps : get a 125.2, a 100.2, or a 50.4 bridged(like mine) and you will be good to go !!!
  14. Maybe you should keep one btl with this sub? 4 8's will look cool, but don't expect to break spl records !
  15. $625 for a Sundown 3000 with 1-year warranty : that's a really GOOOOOOD deal. I'd love to run one on 2 monsters; maybe one day!!!
  16. $281 for a shipping a big BTL to Australia ? That's pretty cheap! You're lucky !!! I am not so far from the USA(the Caribbeans), but I pay $300 for a sub with that weight.
  17. Thanks Jay-Cee. Some details are always welcome, for a lot of us !!! It's hard for me to change the wire from batt to alt, so I will ground of the alt (the battery already has a good 0/1 ground).
  18. You still have a good electrical system, with only one battery ! It may be better with 2 or 3 agm batts; It seems that the best thing to do, after the big3, is to instal a HO alternator. I'd love to find one that fits my car/engine!
  19. I understand, Man ! You want more bass, you want to change your setup! DD is your only (expensive) option. Why ? You can keep your amp, and buy 2 subs that you can wire at 1 ohm. Look for the subs you can find on the store, here. You may find something good for you. Tell us what size of box you want, what music you listen to, ...
  20. Do you already have the D1 sub ? If not, just buy a D2 to run your amp at 1 ohm. The problem is not about the warranty you won't have, the problem is about the shorter life your amp may have. If you will buy a second one, take a D2 sub.
  21. They look nice. I wanted a PG Xenon 1200 last year, but I could not find any BNIB, the 600.1 was the only one available. I would have bought a 4 ch of the same line. Finally I got 2 Sundown amps and I am very happy with them, so far !!!
  22. Oh gosh ! Sorry for you and the owner of the car .
  23. Did you find something?! Do you want to use the same box, with 2 subs?
