No issue, but it's minimum 30° C (86° F) in the shade down here, so all amps get hot but they do work as they should! Yours never get hot? Damn...!

I was so scared of running an amp at 1 ohm only !!! I do it now with my saz 1000, but it gets hot like fire after a long listening session. And I see people asking for 0.5 ohm very often. Damn...

Hi, A friend of mine who owns an Xcon15 has just built a new box for its baby monster sub. The old one was 3.5 cu ft at 32 Hz, and the new one is 3.7 cu ft at 32 Hz too. Not much more volume, the double baffle upside took quite a bit of what we expected. The new box has a kerf slot port : it's really beautiful, and was easy to do wit the design provided by Dylan. First try : got it !!! I will post pics tomorrow. Just wanted to say that the sound is different now. Don't know how to say it but it gives more low notes. We did not expect so much change!! And we love it!!! The owner had a processor(or active filter, I don't know exactly), he took it off. He turned the bass boost off too. Just one question : the port length is way shorter in this box, and the box has quite the same exterior dimensions, for the same tuning. How can that be? BTW : I took the "old" box for my 15" Icon : first listen is impressive on the low lows!!! I love it, but got to test it more!

Can be smaller, with a slot port box Maybe you can try a sealed box? Or only one 12" Xcon, you already have the power and well enough space. (that would leave you some money to buy...what you want!!!)

You don't need 1500 watts for a 15Q. Even an saz 1000 can be enough for that sub. Get the sae1200 if it is cheaper. You don't seem to go for spl competitions!!!

The zx 1000 or 1500 should be enough for these 2 subs, if you're set on Kicker. You just need an amp that can make 1000-1500 watts at 2 Ohms. If you don't have the sub yet, you can still make another choice.

The saz 2000 D should be enough for a single BTL. The 3000 or 3500 will make you spend more money and will add weight in your car (gas, suspensions,...). Even the saz 1500 will make it slam ! You can always order a custom box online. Look at the Custom Sections on this forum : there are some box builder, Audibel, Poundthatsound, Fishercustoms. Their boxes are really great. Look at the pics! Don't forget to leave some money for front speakers, amp, head unit and deadening! Good luck !

If you're looking for boom boom, maybe you should choose another sub? The Q's can certainly be loud. A single 12 or 15 ported can be enough because the trunk of the Focus is not so big. I understood that with more than 1200-1500 watts rms you need big electrical upgrades, but you're lucky : you have an american car in the USA : you can find everything you need!! It should be easy to find HO alternator for your car! Take advantage of that!!! Tell us what you decide!

If you go for the Sundown Z15, go fast : the last ones are on sale, and they will not made again. But...you wanted a BTL 18? And now a Havoc 18 or 15? These are 2 very different drivers. Fi makes BTL in 15", in 12" too. What is your goal? SPL or Daily groundpounding??!!! I am surprised no one asked you that.

Do you have an AA dealer near you ? They don't sell on the net. $200 SHIPPED for a Z15? Damn, that's a good deal!!! With the sae 1200 on sale or pre-sale, you will have a wonderful setup for Cheap!!!

Yeah, it will "power" the Icon. The Kicker will not be able to work at 1 ohm. It gives you 7520 at 2 ohms. You'd better take the DVC1 to have a 2 ohms load on the amp, so it can give you 750 w.

I would prefer 2 Icons 12 by far, rather than 4 cheaper 10's. I understand that you're looking for the wow factor! So the setup with 4 10's is the choice. But you have time to think about it !

I think we have an AQ lover here. Db-r amps must be good deals : I saw they give warranty as for brand new amps. I always thought refurbished or repaired amps should be better, because they passed in "human hands", they're manually tested. New amps just come out of the assembly line, with maybe just a quality control on some of them. But I must admit all my amps have been bought brand new !!! (You'd better listen to ///M5!)

Learn all the specs !!! Hell no!!! Go to the ssa site and look for the Dcon : one or two Dcons on the 500/1, or even only one Icon 10" These might fit his needs very well. The Icon is maybe the better choice for future upgrade.

It may be good for spl competitions, and to destroy your car. But 50 hz : wow!!! For sure it's not a musical sub!!!!!!
