What is this packaging problem ? I've ordered several SSA subs (3 Xcon 15" and 1 Icon 15"). No problem at all, and they were not sent in those "hard wood packaging". My subs took the plane to Europe, from Las Vegas, then back to the Caribbeans in very good shape I tried USPS, Fedex, UPS,...with no issue. Customer service is amazing. They answer all my emails so fast, I wonder if they sleep or take some week-ends off ! I was talking about that with a friend last friday, while having a demo from his car (4 btl n2 15" on 2 Crescendo 3k5 : breath taking). I won't buy Fi subs anymore, because of their customer service, but my next sub will be an SSA Zcon without a doubt. This caraudio forum is the best I've found so far.

Why ? He did not know it was for an Xcon ? Tell us, because it's not a good thing for the box guy reputation !

Damn...And this is just a simple build ? Tuned in... I don't even understand the box !

Nice ride for sure I like what you did for the phone. An Xcon is coming in it, isn't it ? Or 2 of them ? Waiting for more pics...

I managed to get a 3.8 ft3 (net volume) box. I don't know if it has old style basket and soft parts, but if you knew the price of audio equipment here, you would not have pass this deal !!! A DD dealer told me it's a 9515 h IIRC. 250€ for a sub worth 900-1000€ (when you include shipping and taxes). I already have customers for one sub ! When I get the 2nd sub reconed, I'll sell one easily. I will sell the 2nd later, so I can order the Zcon 15" I want.

I'm waiting on the Trinidadian dealer for the recone kit. DHL should deliver monday ot tuesday ! I will get the broken 9515 later today. The one I have is playing in my car on the Sundown saz1500 in a 3.8ft3 box with a (small) 6.5" round port. After some days it plays louder and louder : I don't know why, it is a used sub so I was not expecting it to play louder after some times ! I like how it sounds but I must admit I prefer the btl. It is less musical than the btl or of course the Xcon ... I will keep it and play with it. I'll sell the second one, and maybe the other later. My goal is to buy a Zcon 15".

Is it worth it to change the v1 for the v2 ? A friend of mine just asked me that question. What benefits on the same power ? Can it be louder, or cleaner sounding ? I did not pay attention there was a v2 !

wow ! All those subs, boxes and amps... Finally, what do you prefer for substage ? I've read about 12"s, 10"s, 15", double 12s or 10s,... I was lost for a moment ! Those X look huge, and I know how big is an Xcon. you build nice enclosures, for sure ! Congrats

Can it be good to stuff polyfill in a (too small) ported box ? I guess it needs to be well glued because it can go away by the port. What can be the effects on the box tuning, and volume ?

Some members here can design very good box for you. It's cheap and efficient. Try DL Custom, or DL Designz. I have good results with RAM Designs, too. But if you want to make it by your own, it's up to you !

Check your electrical and your batteries. A friend of mine had a full charge on all his batts recently : he was blown away, after that. He told me he never thought his system could be so loud !!! He has 2 12" Fi bl in a 4 ft3 box @ 32 or 34 Hz. Maybe you need to charge your batts before any purchase

Last month, I bought a set of Klipsch bookhelf speakers. http://www.klipsch.com/b-20-bookshelf-speakers-pair Those mids are awesome and the tweeters are beautiful !!!!! The amp is an old Marantz (2 x 70 w IIRC). I bought an amplified Jamo sub system http://www.jamo.com/speaker-types/subwoofers/?sku=SUB300 . I did not want Jamo at first, but I had no more choice, and the price was right. Nice sound, powerful, lows are really there !!! I LOVE this system ! Twice the cost of my bose acoustimass 5 (+10 years old), but it sounds sooo good. Good luck. You're in the USA, so you can get quite anything. Keep looking, and keep listening. When I bought my system, the seller did not even know what he was selling. I had to listen to every speakers to chose for myself. I'm happy with my choice, so far

It's what I thought, edouble101. I need all the room I can save for the DD9515 : it needs box volume. I am getting 3.8 ft3 net, at 35 HZ. RAM designed the box for me, but I wanted to check some things, here ! He told me that I would not need elbow; with the height of the box, and the port length. Thanks, guys.

The slot flared port is another idea. I'll think about it. But I can adjust the round ports easier.

Port length is 8". But I am talking about the space in front of the port IN the box. Box is 16" tall. 3/4" mdf So : 14.5 - 8 = 5.5" in front of the port(the air entry) in the box. Is that enough ? If not, I will have to use an elbow. Port is firing up. No problem, there is room.

My bad, 2 1200s would be enough. But if you have the money, get the 2 1500s. I understand why you want to strapp 2 amps !

I think both would suffice you, but if you have the money, why not get the bigger one ? You already had a 3k amp, I guess your electrical can handle that power.

Hello , I am building a box with a round port. I'll try to flare the openings to have a nice flare port It will be a 6" port or an 8", I don't know yet ! How far from the box side can I have the port ? How much "room" does it need to play correctly, safely ? I know I can use an elbow, and I will if it's necessary. Thanks in advance for your advices.

I hope DD will be ok to send a recone kit or 2 to me. On their FB page they told me to ask their Trinidadian dealer. But Trinidad is another country, another island. they don't even use US $ ! do you know if they send recone kits to customers ? I will have to make some dealer get them for me. But I don't know any, yet

I love this forum because of the mods ! They have great knowledge and are very helpfull. I am on other forums too, but no one is as good as this ssa forum. This is the only forum I agree to pay for. Do what you want, but you need to accept some things, to learn and progress. Have a nice day

Let the bass play for some times. Then you'll know what you need to do...or not ! If it's not broke, why fix it ?
