  1. 1000 watts at 1 Ohm should not be harder on your electrical than 1000 watts at 2 Ohms. I would get a DVC 2, wire to 1 Ohm, and set the gain low on the amplifier I want/use until I can upgrade the electrical. Unless you're seeing a second sub in the future...
  2. I would not keep that in mind. Play with what you have, now that you won't use rear speakers. I did not know Twisted Sound made subwoofers. Take a look at the SSA line of subs, a single Icon should do it for you.
  3. I know what you mean ! Shipping kills me everytime I buy from the USA !
  4. Kicker had some nice 1200-1500 watts amps. Or you can try brazilian amps.
  5. After 3 years on a 2400 watts amp, my 15" Zcon is like new ! Still super stiff. It barely move at full tilt, like it can take so much more ! I'm patiently waiting for the SSA tweeters. Good luck with your wall.
  6. I used 2.5 sheets of Damplifier per front door: on the outer skin, doubled just under the medium speaker, and on the inner skin(much smaller metal parts). In the Caribbeans, we have a nice weather : the Damplifier sticks very very well ! I found a wooden roller from a previous order, it was perfect. No bubbles at all First listen with second wood ring for the mid, and the Damplifier on the driver side door : nice, nothing too impressive from the stock door. Then I cut the Luxury Liner Pro just to fit the inner door panel. It's soooo thick and heavy ! I used neoprene glue on the edges, but it's so thick it won't go anywhere. I had to make some little openings/cuts in it, but it still covers everything. First door done, I turned the music on, with no sub : I thought someone had turned the bass down on the stock door ! That was VERY impressive. Great motivation to work on the second door immediately. After the doors, I worked on the trunk lid. I used a few sheets of Damplifier, on every metal panels, or parts. Now the bass seems a lot cleaner without those horrible rattles. I need to tighten the top of the tailgate, and it will be good to go. I am very happy with the final results of this good day of work ! My installer (I was only the helper !!!!!!) wants to buy sheets of Luxury Liner Pro now. He really saw what that did to my sound system !!!! Today is Mardi Gras : it will be hot in the streets of FORT-DE-FRANCE, MARTINIQUE !!!
  7. Welcome to the forum. Take a look at the SSA store : they have all kind of amps you need, from respectable brands. I'd rather get a good 1000 watts amp than a bad 1500-2000 w amp.
  8. Take a look at the SSA Store : you'll find what you need. There are a few subs for less than $150. Sundown E , Incriminator Audio, American Bass,...they all have good products for you ! Welcome to The Forum !
  9. You only have a set of terminals : one positive and one negative. Ok we get it. We need to find the final impedance : 2 Ohms, 4 Ohms ? Can you see what is written on the subs, or near the terminals ? Like DVC 4 or SVC 4, DVC2,...? We need to know that. So we can tell you what kind of amp you need.
  10. Welcome ! What are your goals? Budget ?
  11. Still following. What a job ! I like the look of those XS amps. I've never seen one in my country, or on a online store.
  12. Nice choice on woofers. You'll love them. Someone is going too be loud... Waiting for the build pics.
  13. Nice ! You have all the vehicle info on the head unit ? That's cool ! Waiting for more...
  14. The bracing is so "hot", you could use a plexi window to show it ! Nice box. I'd use the 2 amps, linked if possible. I don't like running too low impedance.
  15. Nice list of equipments. I didn't see what car you drive. Tuned in for pics
  16. Why use 2 runs of wire when you can use only one ? Is it cheaper ? 2 runs of CCA are cheaper than one run of OFC ? You need more connector, 2 runs of negative too. I don't find that solution interesting if you have to double up everything. Get welding wire from your local store, if you're on a tight budget.
  17. I know I should wait on users feedbacks, but I'm already interested ! I hope the price will be right.
  18. 1) If you have the room, a second one can be a good choice. You don't need to run full power to enjoy those subs ! But you won't find those Fi Q brandnew, there is a new line of Q now. 2) 2 15"s on 2500 watts : that can be good too. 3) A single BTL or Zcon 18 should be an upgrade in my opinion. I went from Icon, to Xcon, to Zcon ! It was always an upgrade in output, not in accuracy on music. It's up to you, now !
  19. 5 pages ! This guy is a phenomenon !
  20. I will get my Secondskin order today from DHL. Install coming soon : I will tell you how do my mids look in the doors. I hope they won't be damaged by water ! Nice choice. Pics should come soon.
  21. Tuned in for more. I'm curious about those Soundrive subs : you will have them on a 8000 watts amp ? Those subs must be strong.
  22. You made your choice. Do it now ! I never look at graphs or tests: I don't know how to read them correctly. And I know the results won't be the same in my car. I'd rather read what other well informed people think about the products and go from there. The difficult part is to know who to trust ! But as I can see, you seem to be in good hands here. PS : I run my Focal tweeters, waiting for SSA...
  23. Tuned in for sure ! Will you drive it, or just for demo ?
