personally i would only buy from their website, or reputable dealer.... something that important i wouldnt risk with flaky ebay stuff.
  3. sweet sub! wash your car
  4. i cant remember the measurements of the mli-6.5 but if i remember right the outer diameter is 6 5/8". i may be able to do this, with a different size ring... there's the door itself stock speaker location just a little too big, maybe if i sand down a side to squeeze it in? different placement overlap starts where my finger is this speaker is just over 6" and it goes under to panel on the top right, but there is a lot of room to the bottom left... think this is do-able with just a ring?
  5. you mean if i dont cut a hole for it? i dont have stock tweeters... i did some measuring with a 7" diameter 3/4" ring... pictures up in a min...
  6. of course. paint or cloth covering, and better edges... hopefully!
  7. i dont think we have a router laying around, but i can ask some people. i've thought of this, i just need to measure and see if i have enough room to put the stock grill over it. if i did that i would have to figure out where to put the tweeter. i really wouldn't like to cut a hole in my door panels or anywhere.
  8. so ive been looking around for ideas how to get mach5 mli 6.5s and tweets in my doors, but the mounting depth is kicking my a$$. the magnet will hit the window when its rolled down if i put it in the stock location. im wanting to do minimal modification to my doors to keep it as stock as possible*. i saw this and figured it would be perfect for me, if it wont hurt the speaker at all. i cant think of any reason it would, but im just making sure. should i seal behind it with something, or just use some deadening on the door itself? any input would be nice, thanks! hope this works, and if it does work i hope it comes out cleaner than that one
  9. he is 44? ive turned all my friends to love bass, my girlfriend misses it when we drive her car, and now i just installed a little 8 my dad bought in his car (he wanted it) i tried to get him to get a SA8 but he didnt want to spend all the money for the amp/sub/box so he got a cheap-o powered one... better than nothing?
  10. haha when this first started i thought the - was there to minimize that little tab, not knowing what they were doing there. i dont even remember what post it was on, so sorry on my part XD
  11. damn, nice windshield flex! top-notch work. what are you going to cover it with?
  12. I’m no pro, but I’ve read around here that the RE calc. isn't very reliable... and there isn't really any need to go over 2k watts. The most I would do would be 2.5, but that’s me. I would rather keep the sub alive than tear it to pieces. You won’t notice much (if any) of an audible gain in dbeezzz I highly suggest at LEAST a huge batt. up front with big 3 in 1/0 wires. Depending on your stock alt. if you need a bigger one or another battery. Get a volt meter to watch your voltage while playing it, should be good. Anyone please correct me if I'm wrong on the electrical This isn't a "SQ" sub so you really shouldn't be using that term anywhere in your post. as for burping freq. you need to test your own car and see where it peaks at, that will give you the loudest tone for your car, why did you jump right to 32 hertz? That’s a pretty beefy sub, i would def. look into bracing. Something is better than nothing Oh, and remember post a build log with lots of pictures!
  13. No your pops didnt say that, so he got jokes. what? lol
  14. X2 very clean. cant wait to see it done and videos of what it can do. keep up the good work!
  15. nice, congrats. i showed my dad that video and his scores and he immediately asks, "why do you have a 15 when they only have an 8 and they are louder than you?" wish my crx was that loud
  16. looks good! x2 on the black port
  17. i like your idea of door speakers. makes me want to do my doors like that, how did you secure the glassed part to the door? ever get your tint figured out? was it quality, or just cheap ebay stuff? ive been shopping around for some, just been sketch about buying precut...
  18. i have my amp tuned with DMM, will i have to redo that? still sorta' confused what it does to the music...
  19. i've always wondered about something like this; i have some songs that are super quiet, and some that are super loud. this will fix that? how long per song does it take?
  20. X2 i've used a bxi 1208 before, one crapped out on me about a month using it, and the second didnt last much longer. so i got a refurb. from db-r a couple months ago, and it is still working perfectly. he has amazing CS and cant beat the price i recently got a brand new sundown 125.4 and that is an amazing amp as well. either way you go with sundown you will NOT be let down, just check out all the customer reviews!
  21. ive had the same amp situation, not the shaking part though. check your ground, mine wasnt attached directly to the frame but once i did that it worked fine! good luck, and hope that helps
