  1. You do realize that the pre order is over right? Look a few posts up at Jacobs post
  2. Thank you and good luck with yours I think you got an excellent start let us know how it works out for you and how your system holds the voltage
  3. This is the 600de? www.mobilesoundworks.com/PhotoGallery.asp?ProductCode=ax%2D600de
  4. O you should be all set to go I will be running my 5k off of 200ah and 220alt keep in mind I will need more ah as that setup was supporting my previous 4k setup with no issue at all
  5. So did those links help you at all to better understand how much ah you will need? If so how much do you need another way to calc ah is take the sum of the required fusing and divide by 2 so if I have Single amp that has a 200 amp fusing my required ah is 100 for example but if you play with car on then that number will decrease so that way isn't the best but it gives you a ball park figure of what you are shooting for
  6. Lol spelling fail for me lol sorry man but yes i do not include my starting battery in my calc. Why just because I assume the starting battery is all used and setup for the cars daily day to day usage and at least in my case that battery is really small and you wouldn't want to run anything off of it but instead just get a bank that can support your car audio needs
  7. Thanks Chris!!! right back at ya! icy_chris - SSA Car Audio Forum
  8. I sold my SAZ 2000 to icy_chris a few weeks back! he is very fast at payments and he helps out to make this a smooth transaction! He is an asset to the market place and he knows what he wants and is a straight forward guy! I was glad to sell to him and I am looking forward to his build(s)!! Kenneth
  9. if it is your starting battery i next include it in my calcs lol! i just say what i need 100ah min well i will get battery(ies) to back that up. here are some video tutorials i used when figuring out required ah of my system (5krms setup) for starter i am sure you have done the big 3 already but here you go just incase as for ah calc check out this video and tell me what you think of it! also here is a cool alt one i found
  10. normally what i do is set the gains via dmm first using a 50hz tone (for sub amps that is) and then plug in my remote GAIN knob and i use my noise and hearing to listen/smell for distortion or bottoming out or clipping as best as i can and turn it down respectively. keep in mind if you have a bad recording of your song aka 120 or less bit rate the song will sound funny. as for setting your speak amp(s) i don't use anything i just use the volume knob and turn the gains to about half way and adjust the gains as required over the next couple of days till i find a spot a like. since all mp3 aren't recorded equally(unless you rip them yourself the same ever time or normalize all your music) some songs will sound a lot different then others just remember key thing is don't pound your system until you know it can handle it and until you are comfortable with it. and remember keep adjusting those gains and use your ears to hear for stress in your speakers. also my way isn't the best but it is the way i use and it works good for me! everyone has there own little tricks to doing things and i am sure other ppl will chime in with there!
  11. o wwow nice job!! did you ever figure out what that button was for?
  12. I bet it is a Turbo boost switch like on Knight rider, "Turbo boost kit"
  13. Awesome now that is an awesome update lots of good news

  15. The epic 16 volt setup lol that is what my next upgrade will be lol To do it get 16 volt batteries then get a step up device and away you go lol price say 600 plus that is the device and 2 batteries
  16. now that looks cool! keep up the good work!!!
  17. Nice looks clean so far is that a sealed enclosure?
  18. You would only need one if you plan to play car off for long stretches of time
  19. i would say go with a SAZ2500! they are on pre-sale right now for 525 each!!!! that would be plenty of power for that sub plus extra down the road for a potential upgrade! other then that maybe pop onto db-r site for a awesome reburb amp for a damn good deal! Refurbished Amplifiers : dB-r Electronics, Online Store and SAZ-2500D Pre-Sale OPEN - SSA Car Audio Forum but if you are dead set on the above listed amps i would get the saz 1500 they are beasts!!!!! and here is the clamp test if you haven't seen it yet Uniform Amp Clamp Test - SSA Car Audio Forum
  20. How about a saz2500 they are on pre sale for 525 shipped but do it soon as. Pre sale ends July 4 th
  21. I wish you luck on your road to recovery lol
  22. Well you can always get a new head unit or borrow one quickly wire it and see if the noise goes away if it doesn't. You can return the head unit to your buddy or back to the store and start over to find the noise again. I know with me I tried count less times to get rid of noise and then one day I purchased a brand new head unit and like magic my system is noise free And yes I even tried a RCA ground loop thing and a line driver none of them worked root issue was my head unit no way around it.
  23. Nice laptop as for the sub just sell the motor to me and then get the xcon sub!!!
  24. umm not sure i was just going off the given amperate rating and the 1ohm load he mensioned from this site American Wire Gauge table and AWG Electrical Current Load Limits with skin depth frequencies and yes i guess length would account a bit i guess Over what length are those ratings? 12 gauge will be fine.
  25. will you notice a difference Yes b/c the 12gauge is to small and you may have an issue down the road with fire lol! look at it like this 12gauge can support 41 amps of current and at 1ohm that is 1681 and 8 gauge can support 73 amps of current and at 1ohm that is 5329 the ideal pic for wiring in the 2krms range is 10gauge it is what i used and i liked it! 10gauge can suport 55amps of current at 1ohm that is 3025
