im a sucker for a fords or lincolns...especially a mark viii...but i love dodge trucks from mid 90's to 02 or the year before they changed the body style on the ram.

This debate will go on forever...

Yuppp... rather pointless... we should all just buy what we wish not care what anybody else thinks..

im a ford man but i wouldnt mind a few chevys, like their duramax, dodge is complete utter trash though in my experience, but i have heard that they are testing with caterpiller engines, not sure how true that is but that would fix most of the problems ive seen

ah im talking about stuff that MUST be replaced in the first 4 years of life on these brand new chevys.... most the stuff you seemed to list were wear..... im talking about flaws... and alot of them

but as stated this will go on and on....

lincolns have a few corks about them... windown regulators number one! air ride.... a/c fresh air intake leaks heater cores and ford seem to be bad with... and thats really about it...

hondas seem to be real good cars... i tow them mainly on wrecks not much other then that,.

I'm a Cummins guy was raised a Ford boy and still drive a 97' F-150, but then I got my Stratus, and a buddy took me to hell and back in his Megacab 2500, I fell in love...

I drive a ford and own a GM which is basically the same as a chevy. I like them both. Either way they are both american so u cant go wrong there

well... i dont tow many fords... take it for whats its worth...

but i do tow ALOT of gm's ALOT! too many...

and many man with less then 5000 miles on them

i have even towed a few with under 100 miles.

No surprise there. GM motive is to sell the most cars, Ford is just trying to buiild good ones. Albeit they are both far behind (although catching up) to other world brands. Why does GM build good cars in Australia and Europe and sell shit here? (same with Ford :( )

I must say that the current 02 GM truck I have has been by far the biggest POS I have ever owned. I have had more issues than any 5 of the Ford's I have owned combined. Personally if I were looking for quality I would definitely not look to the GM for a mass produced car as they are crap :(

windows regulators yes, blend doors, yes, ...

mu bags are as old as the day my grandparents bought the car, haa!

I'm with bigjon, I drive a Lincoln.

No big problems as of now. Just normal wear and tear. A little rust starting by the wheel wells but it's a Minnesota car.

i love my ford but the transmission is bound to go out seeing as im at 110 k miles with no problems yet.but when it goes out ill just buy a new trans.

My dad has an F-150 and an Expedition each with 150k and never had tranny problems. My Explorer has 165k and no tranny problems. As far as I know the Ford tranny problem was mainly with the Explorers and was fixed when they switched to Mazda trannies a few years ago.

my ford could own your gmc:]

And my Ford could own your Ford.

What's your point?

I've always been a Ford guy, but I love Chevy as well, I could never decide between the two, although I am more impressed with the Fords we've owned than the Chevy's. Chevy's have more problems it seems. Our 5.3l 2002 Suburban runs amazing though, just minor chit always breaks. My dad's Cadillac STS is horribly unreliable, same thing with our CTS, they're both always needing something. They're both nice cars though, he averages about 28-30 on the highway with the STS and a 300 hp V8.

Back in the day my brother had a brand new 1997 F150 and the tranny went out 3 times, originally because of the way he drove, but after that he just had bad luck. My 2006 has 30,000 miles on it and hasn't had a single problem.

If forced to buy American (of the listed options), it would be ford. Maybe a mustang with an independent rear end suspension swap.

This debate will go on forever...

Until someone shows up with a Tatra.

Or hell, a 'Mog if we have a requirement of fitting into a parking space :)

And these are both practical.

Unimogs are... Theres a guy that drives one around in the city here, big friggin tires, big deck on it and a picker... I think he spend about half an hour at the gas station though.

A 404 'Mog only has slightly more fuel capacity than the E-150 does :(
