  • Chill- Lemme break it down as simple as I can on some of us here. The IHoP is like a big dysfunctional family. -M5 would be the uncle everyone respects and takes advice from. We may not like how he p

Some of Orions new amps seem pretty beefy, but I don't think they will compare to the brute of their pre DEI products.

so we finally got started on that last 3 or so feet of the Den/Office wall:

Yes these wires are 100% live and have been hidden inside this wall at least since we bought the house :angry2::glare::fing23::fryingpan::madsign::biggun::squintfinger::greddy2::lame::No::dammit::gay::soapbox::madrofl::bsflag:

playing Musical Circuit Breakers FTMFL

After CAREFULLY removing the wires, we can finally get around to reframing this horrid mess, starting with the rotten sill:

Used the BBQ Stoker to cook our ham today. First cook and holy shit does that thing rock. Held the smoker within +/-2 degrees for the 4.5 hours that the ham was on. Wired some plugs on the outside of the house so that I can control it from inside from my computer. Blackberry control is coming for the next cook :P

Awesome. I may be doing that soon also.

Still a bit spendy. BUT WORTH IT!!!

I purchased my BGE based on Sean's recommendation. I have probably through cooking for others sold 2 more.

I will probably buy another BGE at some point, or else buy a full on drum rig for huge events. Cooking for 30 on one BGE was a bit congested. I was able to get 14 lbs of Boston but the night before, a brisket and then 3 racks of st louis and the tips done. It would have been about 10 times easier having a larger unit though.

So how good of a deal is the 32" LCD HDTV at Frys for $244? Or the 26" LCD HDTV with built in dvd player? The only thing is they dont tell you what brand or how many they have. I drove by Frys here tonight at 8:30pm pac and there was already like 30-50 people outside.

They also have a 10mp dig camera from samsung for $49. If I can get any of them, i think I will.

The 28" Hanns G at Costco is 1080p and not much more. I'd expect that thing to be a POS, but could be wrong.

is that a different G?

My 28" is 1900x1200

Puppy assistance ftmfw.

When I work in the house, jack tries to help. The worst part is the little fella gets so excited when I come home he bashes his tail open untill it bleeds. It one point we didn't have a clean door jamb in the house, and couldn't figure out what was going on. Then he "helped" on the drywall I just hung up.

Thank god his bloody tail didn't hit some of the unfinished oak cabinets....

I get the same feeling.

Anybody remember the old Phoenix Gold 30 band eq. If so do you remember the model #?

try Phoenixphorum.com alot of old pg fans still hang out there.

I'm there everyday. ;)

I saw your name there. So I take it that you are an old pheonix gold guy?

Meaning products from the early 90's.

Old PG stuff rocks! The shop I work at used to carry all the PG stuff. I've seen pictures of old displays and it just rocks. We had all the old Titanium and limited editions. I was going through pictures of old installs and found an install with 4 15" MB Quarts and a Pheonix Gold Reactor. I with people still spent money on stereos like they did in the 90s.

A shop by my house still has some older PG stuff. They have a M44 & another amp I dont know the model number of I believe it is an M series, it has a 10 year anniversary logo on it.

Yeah for puppy help.

Finishing up the temperature variable speed control for the home amp fans. I can finally have some peace and quiet when listening to music. These rack amps were noisy.

Any more info on this?

Ditch the rpm output / input. Add a radiator for the mosfet (the one on my board gets pretty hot before the fans start). Still have some adjusting to do, now the fans start when the amp turns on and they move as slow as possible. Once I get a radiator on the mosfet I'll set it so that the fan starts at 40-50deg C. Took me a couple hours to set up everything.

Much lower noise level.

Badass. Thanks Adrian! Definitely going to look into doing this on my subwoofer amp in the living room, the fan noise just pisses me off. I've also debated just unhooking the fan since its pretty robust and has thermal overload protection, along with the fact I hardly even use the power capabilities of it.

Picked up some 1,000lb rated casters to put under my toolbox along with a toe brake from my brother, finally can get it up on wheels (that are rated for how much the cabinet can handle too). Going to have to use the pallet jack to move it to the overhead chain hoist in the other lab to get the damn thing up high enough, it weighs 300lbs empty, let alone full of my stuff.

Exactly why I did this mod, it drove me crazy. Plus I too never use the amps at their full potential. Don't have too much faith in thermal overload protection. Most of the times the resistors are too far from the mosfets. But you have qsc's which are badass from the get-go.

This one is a QSC CX902, which is a pretty badass amp to begin with, plus I bought them from an amp engineer at QSC who said if I broke them, he would repair them for cost of shipping...

You get the weirdest crap when you buy bottles of Jack:

It's buried in my Netflix. :)

Wall finally reframed and ready for insulation, sheathing and housewrap:

So incredibly close to having the entire wall resided and the entire back porch repainted :)
