While in Augusta, Hertz gave me a '11 Aveo to "drive" (more like flog) and it was hard to tell but either the engine or the transaxle was having a hard damned time with the hills. Putting the car in "D" and not touching the pedals on even the slightest incline caused the car to roll backwards. I'm guessing it's the transaxle because my dad's 5 spd. Accent with similar weight and power has no problem at all.

I'm guessing that's one of the reasons why everybody finally got their act together and started shipping subcompacts with 6 speeds across the board :roflmao:

Well duh, manual trans, less parasitic loss, no torque converter, increased timing. . .

Exactly what I was thinking. Good to know I'm on the right track.

why they put a engine with 50 less horsepower in car not much smaller than its "big brother" Cobalt I haven't the foggiest.

Chevrolet seems to have remedied that with the Sonic, at the very least.

No way in hell I would ever buy a GM.

Had a CEL light for the last couple days, generic misfire on a cylinder. Spark plugs and coil packs were changed less then 2k miles ago.

Pulled the spark plugs out, aha, the shop used Bosch plugs, Bosch plugs don't work in certain Volvos. :ughdunno:

Got some OEM volvo plugs for $28 and problem fixed. :dancing:

They're throwing bottles at your house. Come on, let's go break their arms.

I used to be fucking stupid...but then we broke up

My CEL has a piece of electrical tape over it...

Yeah, just sucks when something serious arises and the light is now useless since you ignore it for something stupid.

Its been on and off for 100k miles, bad sensor that costs to much money to fix. Cars got along fine before SES/CEL lights, I'm fine with ignoring mine.

Very cool.

A buddy of mine had a pair of khakis with Teflon on them. He went to demonstrate to me how they repelled water and dumped half a 2 liter of Coke on his pants. Turns out after you wash them a few times it wears off and his pants ended up absorbing pretty much all of the Coke.
