Posted August 31, 200916 yr hey everybody, I've been debating over some time what my next set-up should be. Right now I have 6 JBL GT5-10s in the trunkspace of my Golf. I'm looking for something louder; I'm thinking of 2 15s...I have around 7-8cu-ft to use. I want something that will shake the ground, not buzz the ears. So I'm looking to tune them around 28hz. I've been looking at the Fi BTL's but I have never received any e-mails back from anyone there for over 5 months... any body have any ideas as to what sub I should look into? Some that have crossed my mind are::: Orion HCCA:: AudioPulse LMS-Ultra:: RE Audio XXX:: DD 9500 seriesanyone have any other suggestions? Also, I'm in Canada, so shipping charges are usually rediculous....Thanks,Andrew

Have you done any electrical upgrades to your vehicle?
August 31, 200916 yr whats your budget? RE XXX is a good choice if you have the coin. Tuning that low you could also go with the XCon
August 31, 200916 yr Author Amps, I'm not sure yet, all depends on how much power I will be needing for the subs. As for electrical, the Big 3 is done, 2 HC2400's in the trunk and 1 HC1400 under the hood.
August 31, 200916 yr whats your goal? like how much louder do you want to be? and do you know how loud your current system is (DB wise)?i dont think 2 15" BTL's would enjoy getting crammed into that small of a space (assuming the 7-8 cu ft is total cu ft not before any displacment)
August 31, 200916 yr Author My setup right now hit a 145.9 @ 40hz on the windshield. I want to be as loud as I can be keeping my backseats in, therefore having around 7-8.5 cuft(before displacement). The only thing thats not attracting me to the BTL's is the fact that I can't get any response from Fi.
August 31, 200916 yr I've heard a lot of good things about the HCCA's they're pretty beastly.you could always go with Ascendant Audio, SSA, or Sundown Audio. They're all really great personal companies. Its odd that you havent gotten anything back from Fi they're usualy very good about getting back to you, Try emailing Nick, [email protected] He'll usually reply in 1-2 days. This like your car? Thats a buddy of mine in the UK, Richard. I find its weird that I haven't heard back from anyone at FI either...I hear so many great things about their customer service yet I havent gotten a reply back. I'll try e-mailing him again. Thanks! As for the HCCA's, I've heard many good things about the 08 models, but haven't heard anything about their 09 models...any input? Thanks,Andrew
September 1, 200916 yr well with 2 12" BTL's youll be louder than that. im just about that loud with one 12" BL.2 12"s would be a better choice with that space i think.
September 1, 200916 yr Author 2 12" BTLs? I was talking with a few people and they're using 3cuft of space for a 15" BTL...wouldnt I be able to use 2 15s? and also...like i said before I haven't received any replies from FI in a long time so im not sure if i want to use them here in canada...
September 1, 200916 yr Never got an email from you...and I never go outside of our forums...i barely have time to go to our forum, much less elsewhere. You can order right off of the website, you just have to click 'Canada' when you order. We have it coded so it works properly now.

I'm just not sure if FI's are the way to go for what I want in the end...
September 1, 200916 yr If you are looking to know "what is going to be louder" there simply is not any way to tell you...If I was that good I would be spending my time in las vegas taking over every single casino..because i would know what number was coming up on roulette before it did every time..what cards were going to fall in black jack etc.It is simply impossible to tell you one way or another which one is going to be definitively louder. Regardless of what woofers are in consideration.
September 1, 200916 yr Author I didn't mean exactly louder...I meant quality wise, which one is capable of being "louder", or handling more power without compromising the sub(s). I've heard a lot of people are using the BTL's and are tuning the box to 34+hz after displacement...I was looking for a sub to play ~30hz after displacement
