what was wrong with your first box?

bl just didnt sound good, there was hardly any excursion and it wasnt loud at all. i think it was due to lack of port area.

Did it have a full 1000 watts going to it? What were the size and tuning frequency of that box?

That box should have that sub moving plenty. Did turning the gain up not make a difference?

it was somewhere around 2.5 cu ft tuned to 36hz. the thing about the box that i remember was that the backside of the L port was about 26-27 inches in length.i think that was the problem. in the end i wasn't pleased with the output, it moved very little air.

when my car is running my voltage is at a steady 14.4v, so it should have had the full 1600 watts going to the sub. how do you post pictures on here? i found a pic of my old box saved on my computer but i dont know how to post it on here.

its gotta be the amp settings, maybe even the headunit settings....

does your head unit have a highpass crossover on it?

specs of my old box.

14.00" h

14.50" D

35.00" W

Total inside volume BEFORE sub & port displacement = 3.15 cuft

Port dimensions = 3" X 12.5" x 36 (L PORT)

Port volume = 0.95 cuft

Sub displacemnt = 0.15

0.95 + 0.15 = 1.1 cuft.

2.0 + 1.1 cuft = 3.1 (within .05 is close enough)

tuned to 35hz

my headunit has a high pass filter which is off

my amp setting when i had this box in.

sub sonic-32 hz

low pass-80-90hz

bass eq-0

gain- set by dmm
