it was making a popping sound a few days ago. then yesterday it happened the coil broke from the cone. im going to try in glue it back witch glue should i use ? Photo0211.jpg

MAN!!! You must be killing that thing mechanically. . .What are the box specs, how much power, and are you using a subsonic filter?

I absolutely punished my BTL's beyond what any sub should ever have to take and they looked brand new when I sold them.

That may need a recone, but you could try Loctite 20 minute 2-part epoxy or rubberized CA glue.

I think a recone is needed to fix that. I don't think you will have much success with glue.

my box is 4.5 cu ft tuned to 33hz 2x saz1500 at 2 ohm. my subsonic was set about half i think. set gains with dmm so i don't think clipped it to death.

No way the subsonic was remotely close to correct...that is a mechanical failure that comes from yanking the soft parts way below tuning. It doesn't have anything to do with clipping...(that part at least)

You've got an astronomical amount of pressure going on there...we've got guys in super street with over 16kw per woofer with no failures like that...

Nothing that a recone can't fix, but we need to figure out why that happened :).

subsonic was set a lil bit above half. i figure its some where between 35-40 Hz .

Who built the box? Sure it is tuned where you think it is?

That is a lot if power. If everything is setup correctly, a BTL will be fine. If not, it will rip apart as it did.

Post up the full set of box dimensions if you want me to check it out.

x2, lets get some more info because that doesnt sound right to me (and if your box is tuned to 32-33Hz, then why is your subsonic set higher than box tuning even though that shouldnt be the problem), some else is wrong in the equation.

I build my own boxes its 34"x17"x24". the port is a L ported width is 4.25" long 15.75" L piece is 6"

That looks good.

(2) 1500's can make some good power if you are keeping the voltage up. Better watch the excursion after you get it fixed. Might want to take the subsonic up higher to start and then back it down as you know everything is alright.

so what sized BTL is it? on the box specs im guessing a 15" but if its a 12" in that much space the sub may react the same as free airing and causing way too much over excursion...

Hold on, so you tuned to 32Hz and have subsonic set to 45Hz? :ehh:

It is a 15 FL newer one. i got it used from a guy that had 4 of them in a wall i think he had 4 40001 bd's to them daily driver. the subsonic was a bit off but not that bad to do that much damage.
