Just as the title says, I'm looking at the best amp for my money to power my single SSD 18. Currently I will be using my 700W receiver as my amp untill I get a new amp for christmas.

Sundown seems to be super duper popular, and apparently the best amps around. But the problem is that for the money, I won't be able to get 800W RMS if I go with sundown.

I know its probably not recommended at all, but I found a Boss Audio amp rated at 750W RMS at 4 OHMS for $155. It didn't have any bad reviews from what I read. But I know boss audio doesn't really make quality products (at least from what I have read).

Hopefully there is something better for the money. I really want to ths sub to get 800W+. I want to hear its full potential.

What options did you get with your SSD?

if ur trying to stay cheap, i would look into hifonics...i have a bxi1610d and everybody says that they dont put out rated power but it sure beats the hell out of my nightshade lol. i havnt had a problem with hifonics and it is relatively cheap. sundown is def a better product but for the money hifonics gets the job done. definatly stay away from boss audio tho.

Yeah stay away from the boss audio. I had one and it didn't come even come close to rated power. 2000 watts at 1 ohm and it only had 4 gauge power wire inputs, yeah right. I ended up blowing it up with a seal bomb, that's the most enjoyment i had from that amp.

Just the copper coil.

And ok thanks for the warning on boss audio. I will look into hifonics maybe for the money. Still got weeks to search.

Well I was doing some reading on hifonics, and it appears as though they highly overrate their amps RMS power. That is a problem. I really need to get that 800w RMS.

Any more recommendations are much appreciated.

you could look at mb quart they are made by the sam company as hifonics and from what i have heard all the amps are underrated. i had a mb quart 1000.1d and one of my friends knows a mb quart dealer and he said that if i had 14v going to it continous that it could do close to 1200 watts rms and you can buy one on ebay for like 175

As long as you don't go crazy with the knobs, I'd save up some money for the SAZ-1000D; you can get it right at the store on here and it is definitely a better product than Hifonics makes.

d1 or d2 sub? I assume a D2 if you're running it on a receiver..?

I've got a New in box Massive p1000.1 $185 shipped to ya.. does roughly 1200watts at one ohm :)

(I run the P1500.1's in my comp truck)

i have never had a problem with my hifonics putting out rated power, like i said, i have a 1600 watt hifonics brutus amp and it beats the shit outta my nightshade.

No he meant exactly what he was talking about, the Massive Audio P1500.1, Crunch sucks just like Hifonics does and they dont do rated power. Hifonics may if your voltage is steady at 14.4v and Im pretty sure you voltage wont be at that level so you wont be saying rated power at all.

AUDIOPIPE AP1500D or AP1800D. The 1500 is rated at 1 ohm and on 14.4 volts and it is 150 shipped brand new. PM me if you want to know where. The 1800 is 190 shipped I think. I know the 1500 and the 3000 do rated so I am going to say the 1800 does rated too because it is in the same line, AP.

Oh sorry. Google results came up with a crunch amp. Took me a while but I found what he was talking about. Seems like a pretty solid amp.

Only thing though is that I won't be buying my amp until around christmas time.

Ok will look into it.
