March 28, 201015 yr Author Nice work, good to see some real bracing Thanks Sean. It's surprisingly light, but if you knock on the side, it's absolutely solid.
March 28, 201015 yr Author Pictures look gOod Brother. The one with the polyfill looks like theres smoke coming out of the box. Where are you facing the sub? is it down firing? keep up the gOod work. The sub will be down firing. I'll get pictures of it on the false floor today. Have to run out of town, so I'm going to stop at the fabric store and see if they have any covering.
March 28, 201015 yr I go to a local upholstery shop for my vinyl. They let me look through all thier rolls and take samples out to the car to color match. Just a thought.

I think I'm going to do that for my a-pillars. I'm probably going with jet black carpet for the speaker box and false floor.
March 31, 201015 yr Author The mounting might seem confusing, as it is a bit weird. I don't have pictures of the finished part, as I'm not happy with it. When it gets covered with carpet, then I'll take pics of that.
April 6, 201015 yr Author look good. is anything gonna go on either side of the sub?Nah. I'm leaving that open just in case I need to put something back there. Progress has slowed to a halt. Maybe tomorrow I'll order the carpet and new back tire for my bike?
April 11, 201015 yr Author Long over due. I've decided to put the sub in the truck with the Sony HU I have for now. I'm a little short on funds, so I'm going to wait a few more paychecks before I buy the stuff for the front stage. Keep in mind this is the FIRST time I've EVER carpeted things. Please be nice
April 11, 201015 yr If the fan holes are visible after it's installed, they would look better painted black.
April 11, 201015 yr Author If the fan holes are visible after it's installed, they would look better painted black. They won't be. It's a close fit, they are actually sucking air from under my seat
April 17, 201015 yr Author Looks good man!! Cant wait to see how it looks installed.I've been neglecting my truck, as it's nice enough to get my bike out. Umm..I'm not happy with the current set up, as far as space and fitment goes. I'm going to be rebuilding in a few weeks. Goal is to build a center console that incorporates my Dcon.On a positive note, the Dcon is the best subwoofer I've ever heard.Other subs I've listened to: Various mainstreamers, Icon, SI Mag, Dayton HF, Paradigm PW2200, Fi Q.
April 17, 201015 yr Great build log. As far as the Dcon sounding better than the Icon. Was the Icon in as good a box that was built to spec? And in a vehicle that was as well deadened as yours? I thought the Xcon>Icon>Dcon. Either way, great work on your build, and I'm excited to see what you come up with for your console.

The Dcon is in an optimal sealed enclosure while the Icon was in an optimal ported. Icon was in the home theater, and Dcon in a vehicle. I just appreciate the overall sound of the Dcon set up. Don't get me wrong, the Icon is a PHENOMENAL driver, but at the price, you can NOT beat the Dcon.
April 19, 201015 yr You know that if i offered you my ICON you would jump all over that sucker. I still love it so don't get your hopes up...i recommend the ICON to anyone who wants clean power. I would love to see what it sounds like in a sealed box though. Can't wait to get building ryan. Should be interesting
