so there's a show this weekend. getting tired of everybody talkin stuff about my sundown audio stuff cause they never heard of the name. i need to change my setup so i can win this show. my box is about 3.3 with 3 of the dual 4 sa12s. i running a 3000d @ 2.6 i have two options. either port my box i already have to stay behind the third row. or flip the seats up and build a 6 cube ported box just for the show. if i port my box i already have how high would i need to tune it. i need a mid 140's for this weekend. last show they held guy won it with a 139 or something. and i might add he had 4 15s in a box not tuned for the speakers. also would it be safe to wire it in parrallel so i can burp it this weekend?

port the box...use external aeros so you wound have to make that much of a change. or build a new box entirely

the guy won with a 139,,,was he doing bass race in the 139 class?

What kinda car do you have?

Get a frequency sweep, or a set of tracks with ~30-60hz test tones... Run through them and see which ones are the loudest, I guess you have a sealed box, so your curve will peak close to the cars best gain...basically go through the tracks and find out which is the loudest... if 50 is the loudest, tune the box to 45hz or so and test that, if you like what you see, run with it, if not try a lower or higher tuning, and see if you can get any more output out of it. You should be able to break a 140 with 3 12"s on a 3000D wired to .66 ohms.

try to find out the ideal port firing and speaker position in your car, if its a trunk car, depending on how you install it, if facing the cabin, seal off the trunk to help prevent cancellation.

Good luck!

u need to let me know very soon OP about the status of your group buy because you will lose your place in it if you do not respond.

i hope to god you pull out mid 140s with 3k watts of possible power pushin 4 12's, since me and my friend are getting almost that much on 2k watts in the trunk

but to answer your question. i'd build a new box 6 net cubes ported so the air will flow to your passenger side, or where ever the meter is going to be around 43 hertz
