Yeah, that is what I am worried about. What I cant see.

That crack in the bottom right corner spreading down, how far does that go? Hope not too far, LOL.

It wont be good, like I said I can push on the rear quarter by the window and hear metal crunching.

Wow that is brutal, hope you are able to get it repaired.

Me too Homie.

The repair will be easy compared to taking all that crap out to get to it. 5 batteries, big heavy ass box, the subs, and all that wire..........makes my head hurt just thinking about it.

:suicide-santa:

I got a welder. But honestly, if you know any welders, it would only take them a few minutes and it would be done. Plus they would have a blanket to put down so the sparks wouldn't catch nothing on fire.

I definitely wouldn't JB weld it or anything like that.

I have a welder as well, you should have bought that house down the street we spoke of before. Ha Ha!

I agree, to not do the JB weld thing. Your gonna want those issues fixed correctly (strong), to nice of a truck not to keep it "top notch"

  • Admin

Oh no. There is no way to do the repair without removing everything?

I was afraid your wife would catch my grill on fire. lol

Truth be told, I wish we were neighbors. Would be great to have a neighbor like you Sir!!!

You prolly have no interest in adopting a problem child of my age tho. :drink40:

I don't see how. I cant take off the panel without removing the box to get a look at how far it goes. That crack coming off the circle in the bottom right corner goes behind the side panel over the rear wheels.

I guess the bright side if I am forced to look for one would be I can take off the vinyl on the box and paint it with black bed liner which I have wanted to do pretty much since I put the box in there. (Last time I ever use vinyl!!!!) Paint FTW!!!

Oh and the Zcons also killed my rear air which is behind that same panel, so I can get that fixed just in time for winter. LOL

Okay so by ignoring the problem, it seems I have made things much worse.

Looks like no bumping in the Yukon for a while. SON OF A FUCKING BITCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Passenger rear door jam.

I am not sure if it's worth all this shit anymore. I was going to paint her flat black in January, now I might have to reconsider keeping this much system in it and fork over that kind of coin on a paint job. Really fucking depressed about it. I am tearing this truck and my wallet apart. Damn it, just fucking damn!

:trippy::o

That's no good. Sorry bro. Keep your head up, it will work out.

Damn that suuuucks....maybe make the Yukon a show car and start up a daily project?

  • Author

Wow and you want more power? Curious to see what you do next.

lol, yeah how dumb does that thought look right about now? lol

Thanks Buddy.

That is prolly not too far off from what will happen. Buddy of mine has been trying to sell me his van for a while now and the reality is I should do something like that. I just really wanted something smaller/faster/more mpg as a daily driver and use the Yukon for shows and what not.

I was going to drop $2k plus on paint first of the year, but I cant justify doing that if this keeps happening. :trippy:

Wow, that is just nuts.

its not possible to reinforce it?

I was thinking the same thing.

Looks like you might need to pick yourself up a used armor plated vehicle :peepwall:

"BULLET RESISTANT STEEL - Provided by one of the major suppliers of this material. All levels of protection with certifications." I wonder if their level of protection and certification covers four 18" subs lol

Also, if this is tearing apart steel think about what it is doing to your ears :WTFBubble:

  • Admin

I honestly wondering if I need to put together a legal disclaimer for possible structural damage. :peepwall:

Major damage ftl this time. A new project could be fun though :ughdunno:

Just showing this build log some more loving <3

Awesome build.

Not sure if it was mentioned aready, but what wheel/tire combo is that?

Battle scares FTW! I say it's time to invest in a small tig welder. Sand the paint off where the crack is. Drill a small hole at the end of the crack to keep it from creeping. Then just stitch weld the crack closed and primer the area like a band-aid. Hell, make a stencil in the shape of a band-aid and use it when you primer the fix. Once you decide to get rid of the truck just get a quick $100 paint job and move on. Happy bumping. :dancing:

Ready to see some progress pics!!
