Posted November 6, 201014 yr Friend of mind is looking hard at ordering a single 12" Q (dual 2 ohm) and running them on Leviathan in a sealed enclosure. He wants to run channel 5 & 6 on the Zed at 2 ohm giving the Q 500watts.Should he order any of the options (apart from high qts) or will just a plain Fi Q be enough? He's running a set of MLK's up front in his 2007 Caddy CTSSuggestions? Thanks

November 7, 201014 yr Author Thanks for the reply. Trying to talk him out of an ID Max and towards an Fi Q.
November 7, 201014 yr That should be easy. Nothing special about the IDMax but its price tag. Don't throw money away!
November 8, 201014 yr If you really do have to go sealed you may want to get that aluminum inductance ring option (they still have that for the Q right?) That is a good heatsink for the voice coils and helps maintain proper driver behaviour through hard bumpin as the coil sheds heat easily, as well as the inductance mentioned in the option's name.

November 9, 201014 yr 500w is more then enough. I am running a 15" Icon sealed on a leviathan bridged at 500w and I don't use the full 500. Granted I probably have different listening preferences.
