Im getting a new system soon and i was trying to decided between the dc level 4 and the hdc3, i heard a couple saying that the Xl's are more comparable to AQ's, and i also heard many saying the dc's sound a lot better. My question is which will hit the lows better and sound better?

  • It doesn't matter if I can throw a million watts at a woofer.. I'm concerned about how well it uses that power.. The hdc3 woofers' have extremely high inductance.. They're basically power hungry whore

    Fi .

  • The DC Subs are just old FI designs which were sold by the owner of PSI to the owner of DC

AQ subs need high tuning, so the DC subs would probably "hit the lows" better

Fi .

Fi ftw!!! New btl line is out with neo drivers!!!

i wanted to but the fully loaded btls are higher than both

Save up a few more dollars for American made original and quality designs. ;)

Get a BL if the BTL is too expensive for you. Or buy used.

You can find great deals on used equipments.

Or save some more money !!!

and also going with the btl's ill have to change the amp that i want to get so im just going to keep it between the aq's and dc's

Why do you have to change the amp?

  • Admin

because its a 3k watts

So. There is no law saying you have to have rms power.

X2, just be smart and niece to the volume and gain knobs. You don't have to get the sub "fully loaded" talk with them about what you're planning to do and they can tell you what you should need to get, if any of the options. That's what makes them custom. If they were meant to be sold fully loaded to each and every person they wouldn't give you the options.

Not really, on the same amp the BTL is the louder driver even when not running anywhere near power.

What are your goals for this system?
