February 19, 201114 yr Anyine had any experience with the above listed component sets? Just lookin for opinions in them. And yes I kno opinions are opinions... but I want to know what others tgink.ThanksGo out and listen to different comp sets, each one will please your ears differently. Asking for advice on components through someone else's ears is like using a blind mans eyes to get across the highway. I have heard good things from both companies, cant see where you can go wrong. Get whats in your budget if you cant go out and listen to them then just save up your money to get a nice set when you can put some time into researching component sets.
February 19, 201114 yr Author Thats the response I expected. Haha. Im getting a brand new set of hertz hsk165 comps for $200 shipped.
February 19, 201114 yr I also would try to figure out how my set of Tweeters on my Bravox components blew first, so it wont happen with your Hertz. You usually want to try to find the cause to the problem instead of replacing right away or you can be in the same boat a few months from now.
February 19, 201114 yr Author Im fairly possitive that it was because I had double the power recommended with the gain to high. Because when I turned down the gain... my right tweet is fine. (Left one is completely gone) but when the gain is up where I had it before... the right tweet goes in and out.
February 21, 201114 yr Author PROBLEM!Sooo... I was drivin and bumpin... and I changed the song to 6'7' by lil wayne and was turning it up. Then when I got to 26, my radio cut off. So I turned the gain all the way down and turned it back up an it was fine. So now I can't turn my volume up past 26 without it cutting out. My amp is not going into protect and I keep my voltage above 12v as I always do. Any suggestions on why this is happening? All the settings on the amp are roughly dialed in. So I do need to fine tune every thing. But it has been fine since I installed it and now this...And input is appriciated. Thanks Edited February 21, 201114 yr by swagger_wagon468
February 21, 201114 yr So your head unit is turning off at vol 26? If so then your amps aren't the problem.
February 21, 201114 yr Author Well only if the gain was up and the bass hit. Now its workin fine. Idk what was up...
February 21, 201114 yr is your headunit powering any speakers? or is everything powered off amps? Perhaps your ground on the hu isn't sufficient enough when you turn the volume up?
February 21, 201114 yr Author Everything is ran off an amp. Everythingg in back of the HU is soldered. So I don't see how the groung could b bad. And for some reason its working fine now.
February 22, 201114 yr Author Soo... I think I kno what the problem is... my electrical. I waas on the way home and it did it again. So I just left it off. Then I went to roll down my window and my lights went dim to the point tht I couldn't see and my battery light came on. But my voltage on my meter was still not below 12...so now I can't bump till I get my 270xp. Which wont be for a month or two because they r redesigning the case... so... this sucks. February 22, 201114 yr Author I guess that's what I will have to do. Atleast I have some Hertz 165's on the way. So ill have atleast nice crisp highs. Lol. The thing that blows is ... I FINALLY have the cash for the alt and I can't get it. Haha
February 22, 201114 yr Lower your gains so that in case you bump loud you don't do much hurting to the electrical...
February 22, 201114 yr Is your volt meter accurate? Try calibrating it, make sure it's reading what your batt. is really at.
February 22, 201114 yr Author Shogun... Haha. ObviouslyAnd watts, I calibrated.the meter.to my.batts V.when.I.installed.it.
February 23, 201114 yr Shogun... Haha. ObviouslyAnd watts, I calibrated.the meter.to my.batts V.when.I.installed.it.Double check the volt meter against your batt on a dmm. Sometimes they get outa whack. Best way I found to do it is with car off and no load on the system.
February 23, 201114 yr Author How would I do it with the car off? The volt meter meter would be off if my car was. Right?
February 23, 201114 yr the battery will show a voltage regardless of car on or not.... It retains energy so you should get a reading of 12.6-12.8
February 23, 201114 yr Author Well yea I kno that but PhatBoi said to compare my volt meter to my batt when the car is off. No way to do that righ?
February 24, 201114 yr Author Thanks Aaron. Im already planning my next build of 2 ZCON 15's. that's why im looking to upgrade to a saz2500 then when im ready for the zcon's... ill just get another one. Im not even done with my current one. HahaBut I still need my 270xp, couple xs batts, a shit ton of deadener etc etc. Im gonna go make a video of my xcon. Remember its still not fine tuned and my gain is less than half way up.
February 24, 201114 yr Author Here it is... Top Chef by Gucci.all doors and windows closed. Gain a little less than half way. I need deadener BADDD. lulzUploaded it to photobucket but it says im not allowed to post the image extension on this board... idk y... Here's a link anyways.http://static.photobucket.com/player.swf?file=http://vid855.photobucket.com/albums/ab116/swagger_wagon468/P2240324.mp4
