Posted January 3, 201114 yr Just a general question about wiring the amp. For the terminals for the ground and positive how did you guys affix the wire into the terminal. Did you guys solder the tip of the wire and then screw it down or did you just insert the bare wire and then screw it down? Thanks guys.
January 3, 201114 yr insert the bare wire and then screw down^ this .... Soldering it would make it more permanent and possibly cause more badd than good...
January 3, 201114 yr Author Thanks guys I'll most likely just do that. But I heard some people will solder/tin the wire to keep the wire from fraying and making sure there is a constant connection. Once cooled then they insert it into the terminal and clamp down with the screw, I think it makes it a tighter fit. (not too sure)
January 3, 201114 yr That does insulate the wire tip from fray and oxidation a bit, but I think putting tin on the wire doesn't help with conducting electricity.. Safer to just insert the bare wire, but to be honest I always use a spade connector so that the wire doesn't fray...I have a rotary tool so if it doesn't fit right I slim it down a bit, or sanding it can help too...
