  • Finally got home. Mom wouldn't let me use her camera, so I had to use my phone. For being an "8.0" mega pixel camera, it really doesn't take very good pictures... Oh well. Size 11 Nike Shoes

burko, where is this going into?

sounds like you are young (not that Im too old anyways lol), but cool to see people starting on the right path from a young age.

Im tired of seeing young people brag about their sonys, kickers and walmart branded subs.

And I still have to find someone who has heard about sundown, fi, ssa, aa or even xs batteries lol

So true, im 18 in school and have the same woofer in my yukon. Hope it slams just as hard as mine!

I remember when I thought I was cool runnin my w7.. Then I heard this kid's fi ssd 12 and I was like holy momma thats nice.. never heard of that.. And looked it up and eventually ended up on ssa.com and havin a sundown amp and a fi sub.. Lol. I hate when kids are like LOL sundown.. what is sundown, that must be crap.. and what the heck is "fi" is that an off brand.. ( I cant wait to get my 18" xcon.. then they will be like "LOL what's a "SSA"?? " :) then I'll slap the crap outta their face and they will be like "Oh.. so that's an SSA XCON"

Noooooooo. Sub came shipped with excellent packing. No way it could have been damaged during shipping. I took all of that out of the box before I took that picture.

Just got home.. Would get pics, but it'd be pointless. Too dark outside. Pics of the Hoe tomorrow for sure, everybody!

Damn, according to Michael S. at AQ the amps are on back order until the 2nd or 3rd week of April... :suicide-santa:

Oh well, maybe I'll begin box build this weekend. Pics of Tahoe later today.

I'm upset!

For the same price of my 18" Q I got about a year back, I could've gotten a N2!

Good luck on your build and making your friends jealous and wanna sh** their pants lol

You'll love the aq amp i love mine!

Hell yes I love the young guns; I put my first system in at 15 too, before I could drive my car. I started with all sorts of p.o.s. setups: Kenwood 10's in a bandpass, mixed sub sizes/brands, basically made every mistake I could along the way until I met my eventual bosses who taught me everything from the ground up and hired me as a box builder/amp installer, no fiberglassing or working on the nicer cars (ie 355 and 360 Ferrari's, eventually even a Carerra GT), but this was long before Fi, back in the CV Stroker days. They got me on RF and JL, which were tops for a bit, but now a lot of small companies do big things. still nowadays those guys are in their retail brand world, where the W7 is still king and the DD9500 is an obnoxious afterthought. One is still stuck on the time I introduced RDO operation of his dvc 13w7 with a potentiometer to him... luckily I'm a chemist now and I don't have to listen to them too much anymore :)

I brought my Q15s in which impressed them a lot, but my gen 2 BtL and BtL N2 were too much for them... not me tho, I love my N2

anyways its a great hobby and it can teach you some handy skills, but keep it fun, its a crappy job lol.

I may be young, I really respect the Cerwin Vega Strokers, I was going to buy 2 12" Strokers ('10 models) they were beast, but then I went with a Fi BTL N2 18 lol.

So what amp are you going with?

AQ2200D

Irun an Audiopipe ap30001d @ 1 ohm (Turned up 2/3 @ 2000 watts) . The 18" BTL N2 slams, My buddy has 2 15" L7s with a custom built box. funny thing is, my box and his were built by the same shop! He has 4000watts and 2 15s. My 18" that is tuned at 32 hz. kills his! :woot:

Aah the excitement. I think I might order another 15 after I take down this seasons Slammin class in NESPL. Got a hella different sort of build in mind, including a double 24" flare :)

Well guys, looks like the vehicle I thought I was getting is no longer a possibility... :(

My 18 will now be in an 01 ZR2 Blazer. Gotta wait till the end of May to start the build. Figured out I have a C in my anatomy and physiology class, so I'm afraid I need to focus a bit more on school and I can worry about cars as soon as the school year is over.

I'm talking to a guy about buying his Blazer. The catch is, he has to wait to sell it until he graduates, so it works out perfectly for me as well as him. It's black and looks to be in excellent shape. 120k miles. A little on the steep side for an 01, I know, but hey, it's a chevy. Ran the Carfax and there's only been 2 owners, no wrecks, all checks out, so that's great.

Anyway, looks like my space limit is gonna be a little tighter than I previously thought. How do you guys feel about sub up, port back, with the batt and amp under the back seat? I think I could pull it off. Gonna be a lot easier to judge when I actually have the vehicle.

So I'll be on hold until the end of May. Be looking for my build log after a while, and be sure to give me your opinion on the placement of the sub and port!

How do you figure you have 2k watts with gains turned 2/3rds up?

Gains turned all the way up doesn't mean that's the only way to get full power out the amp.
