Im getting mixed info like crazy on this one...mainly concerned with keeping voltage drop to a minimum. I've read, more wire, the better..then i've read there was no difference i.e. Sean replaced his 10 y/o 0ga with brand new 2 runs of 0 and he gained nothing...

Here's my electrical before you guys ask for it....DB electrical 250a alt and plan on running a XS Power D3100 in the back.

If you really want to, pull a run of 00 to the back battery, but One run should do the trick.

Stock 180 amp alternator with two d3100s. No voltage drop at all but I never listened to it for extended periods of time at full tilt ~15 minutes. I just did two runs right away when I installed it. You could try one and just monitor your voltage. Then add another if needed.

i think it has mostly to do with battery and amperage from alt. I have had my 3500 a long time, ive ran it with a single run of 0, and now 2 runs, but im getting worse voltage drop now with 2, but again ive done a few other changes, and i think the batteries are not as good. I think if you have a good alt, and 2 good batteries, you dont have much to worry about. Im running a 220 amp alt, with 3 batteries including under the hood, and 2 big batteries in the back, and get voltage drop from high 13's low 14's, down to 12's at idle and while driving mid 13's.

If money is not a major issue, i would stick with the 180 amp alt, get 2 good batteries and look into a module to keep your alt charging in the high 14's or 15 volts. but thats my opinion

edit : my bad, for some reason i thought you had a 180 amp alt, maybe it was someone else that posted, so scratch that from my response lol

I recommend two runs of 1/0 (two sets of + and -).

I have a Crescendo 3kwp (running @ 1ohm), DC Power 270XP, (2) D3400 and one rune of 1/0 (both + and -). I do see over a 1v drop during heavy bass lines.

I will be running my 3kwp @0.5ohm in a month or two and will certainly be adding another set of 1/0.

It isn't necessary about alternator amperage. The power transfer between two batteries, one front one rear, can exceed alternator output. For that short burst of power transfer more wire the better :morepower1:

I am waiting on the SMD and nothing is ran, just planning... Looking for batts...

I did buy enuf of that wire for 2 runs, mite as well run it...
