Nice!!

That is pretty badass for just the one amp. Kinda weird it peaks higher despite the same tune. I guess the bigger enclosure changed your cabin area too. I dont pretend I know much about acoustics and would like to know more.

Looking forward to the trim panel pics. Still going with the vinyl?

  • I started thinking. I really want to almost rewire the whole truck when I run two 5500's. I will want to do 4-5 runs of 2/0 from front to back, add atleast 2-3 group 31 AGM's to rear, deaden roof, and

  • I don't know how this works I they are huge I apologize, these are straight from the iPhone

  • Thanks, all screw holes will be filled, I wanted the smooth side in. The birch is so smooth I may not resin the inside. I think it would be hard to get back to the smoothness it is now. Started workin

Ok after sealing it off from the rear it is much more intense. It's hitting the lows much much better, I was losing a ton of output behind and around the box. It's honestly painful at this point. I need to meter it but on music it's ridiculous. It feels like a 154 on music but idk

Dave, if his peak did go up, it's because he has displaced more volume in the cabin area.

Though, if his peak went down, it's because the way how is box is tuned is effectively overcoming cabin gain at whatever frequency in that truck is most efficient.

Looks good buddy,

Hopefully your box volume isn't larger than your cabin volume, Funky things can happen with that. I'm at about that point where I have to play with my drivers side door window open or completely sealed up to keep things banging.

Great work, Can't wait to see this thing on two 5k's

for SPL, you'd want that to happen though.

If you want it to stay peaking lower, sealed up will typically make your vehicle peak lower.

Thanks

With one door open or just one window down its wicked, both windows down are ok but nothing spectacular. Lots of pressure with one side sealed. My cabin is pretty large. I can lean seats all the way back and they don't reach the subs. It's about 10inches behind b-pillar. I am gonna build panels that extend to the b-pillar though so it forces it forward.

Got it all sealed up and trimmed out. The truck is just plain brutal to sit in. Had several demos / bailouts today and my brother called me 30 minutes after leaving and said "man Im gonna go lay down I still dont feel right after that shit" LMAO

It was more of a reference of you being LOUD and me not, haha but I'm trying.

That's just straight awesome Lee. Outstanding job. Glad it all came together for you and performs how you like. It was pretty nasty before, I can only imagine what this one is like. Still thinking about the 2nd amp?

I think you have inspired me to do some testing with some trim panels. Not the same application as you of course, but it may help improve mine as well. I was thinking about it anyway just to make it look nicer. Now if you can teach me how to do some carpet I would be all set lol.

Thanks a lot man, I am only decent at carpet if its dark or thick, lol. I think I will add something different this time. My truck has a unique pattern in the doors and dash that looks like carbon fiber but is actually small Harley emblems, I think I will pull a piece and take it somewhere to see it it can be made. And use that for trim pieces. I would like to use a second amp but not sure I need it.

I forgot to ask. Do you notice your coils still getting warm quickly or was that because of the wiring?

The logo idea sounds cool. There was a guy in Washington I think that did custom vinyl printing. If you can't find anyone local I'll see if i can dig it up.
