December 4, 201311 yr Author ok ... update... i really screwed the pooch on this one... so i had to have a tire replaced today... so i popped my truck to turn off my air ride so they could jack it up.. and look what i found.... . some asshole forgot to wire as coil on each of the subs...... it was my fault they cooked... i feel like such an ass clown. ... not only is this why they blew.... THIS IS WHY THEY METERED SO LOW!!!! (149.3) stay tuned guys... im reconing then hitting the meter again.... god i feel so stupid. oh and i also have a cracked rim
December 4, 201311 yr Author no .. only when i switched it down to .25 ,.... thats when i left a wire off by mistake.... so thats why i metered lower then expected and also let the smoke out...
December 4, 201311 yr I live quite a way north of that but can you pm me how much your selling your ns1 for and I might can get a demo and pick it up at the same time if its still for sale
December 4, 201311 yr no .. only when i switched it down to .25 ,.... thats when i left a wire off by mistake.... so thats why i metered lower then expected and also let the smoke out... I curious to see what it will meter when you fix it and everything is how it should be.
December 4, 201311 yr Damn It is still a testament to the build quality of the Ethos subs though I'm eager to see what you meter with them wired correctly.
December 4, 201311 yr All the better i feel bout ordering mine. Bought a 07 Avalanche today....can't wait to start putting it all together. Looking forward to the next metering.

December 4, 201311 yr Those subs seem impressive ! Best of both worlds. Thanks for the feedback on them. Don't worry too much about those negative points. I don't know why they do this; but it's idiot ! Talking about wiring : I realized that my sub was wired to 4 Ohms after metering at 138.something last weekend. (sealed at the dash, TL).I rewired to 1 Ohm, and now I'm waiting on a new TL session with the IA 20.1 It is much louder. Hoping it will meter higher.
February 8, 201411 yr Author my intake manifold broke on my car the day after i put my subs back in.. butok .. so like i said i would throw up a score today.. no testing no tuning.. just burp a few times quickly before i lost all my coolant .. i have stated that to the ear the ethos were louder to me then the nightshade V2s ....... and well i was right. no testing .. no tuning.. stright outta the gate with a 355 dollar shipped sub VS the 600ish sub i was running to get these scores
February 8, 201411 yr Author i got one of my best friends to get a demo.. he didn't know i had the cam rolling
February 9, 201411 yr i got one of my best friends to get a demo.. he didn't know i had the cam rolling Damn, even gettin the homies to bail. good stuff.
February 9, 201411 yr Did you order an extra set of recones, because you'll probably need them with putting that much power to the ethos
February 9, 201411 yr Did you order an extra set of recones, because you'll probably need them with putting that much power to the ethos When both coils are wired up.. doubt it Quentin stated before if he were to rate these thermally it would be closer to 2500wrms per sub so a ~7k on 5k worth of subs is fine. And like Jon said, can't beat the price to performance!

And like Jon said, can't beat the price to performance! The drivers need 1800 watts to reach xmax in their recommended enclosures. The recommended power ratings I give are what are needed to be operate the sub. I'll never give a max "safe" power level. That's kinda like a car manufacturer saying its ok to run your car right below redline all the time.
February 9, 201411 yr Your boy knew he was going to get hurt lol. How is the bandwidth in your setup?
