Posted April 12, 200718 yr I have an ava 15 ... and i wanna know what kind of power i should put to it ... right now i have a kx1200 that i could run to it but im afraid with that power in 2.5 sealed enclosure it might be to much ... any suggestions? maybe a dif amplifier?
April 12, 200718 yr i'd go with 800, hell i could power my tweets off that amp, its not about the power, it's about setting your gains properly and being careful with the volume.

Thermal power handling is not the issue here; it's keeping it within mechanical limits.

April 12, 200718 yr i have run both the bx1000d and bx1500d from hifonics to my 15ava. in a 4cuft 28hz box. the 1500d wired at 1ohm seemed to be a little much for it at a high volume. it starts to make a funny smell. the 1000d (curently using) seems to be a much better fit. i can play it as loud as i can tolerate for extended amounts of time with no problems at all. hope this helps....
