  5. Some companies claim that their alternators are vastly superior to the competition claiming that adding an external rectifier and or regulator and adding diodes fixes everything. Well, there’s no doubt that taking the rectifier out of the alternator will help to some degree, it’s not a cure all fix. What about the windings? Are they up to being pushed to 200-300% of their rated output? Not likely. Are the stock internal cooling fans able to pull enough air to efficiently cool the alternator, again, not likely. What about the aftermarket voltage regulator? Again, not likely. The sad truth is that adding external anything to an alternator is generally a bandaid to fix a pro…

  6. Okay everyone, At times we have a very hard time keeping up with the amount of volume of calls and e-mails we get. Sometimes, voicemails and e-mails get overlooked. ex: We're going to call you back then another customer calls. It's not intentional at all, we're just simply busy and we try our damn best.. Sometimes we have 50-60 calls come through our call center in a single day and we can only get to 20 people because it seems everyone calls in all at once. Not to mention we only have two people (Stan and I) answering the phones. Everyone else is in the back either programming the CNC machines, building alternators, or making harnesses. I would also like to mention that …

I have been dealing with DC Power since last year having conversations with Robbie and Kyle. To make a long story short I choose to no longer do business with DC Power. I was very upset and frustrated with having to choose this route and so was Robbie (owner of DC Power). Robbie contacted me last week and offered his product to me. Robbie expressed his concern with having a customer that was not happy with his company. Robbie truly wants his customers to be pleased with his company's product. I am absolutley floored that Robbie cares this much about 1 customer when his company has thousands!!!!!!! Thank you Robbie, Kyle and the rest of the group at DC Power. Here are p…

  8. The purpose of this thread is to discuss the design flaw of the 250XP alternator case. This thread is NOT to BASH on DC Power so DO NOT use it to do so. I am here to discuss ONLY fact's, and help improve on design quailty. The mounting ear has broke twice on my 250XP alternator, in under a year. This is installed on a 2.3L 4 cyl equipped 99' honda Accord. The case is weak due to not enough material left around the mounting ears and the bracket allowing too much movement. From what I understand DC Power will be redesigning the case and leaving more material. I will post pics of the new one if Rob does not. If this happens again I would hope for a bracket redesign also.…

  11. So I ordered my alternator back on February 24th, it was the 210 amp PRO alternator for my 1998 Honda civic. For the last two weeks, I've been on the phone speaking to Stan about what the status is with my alternator, and every time I was told that I would have a tracking number sent to my email in a few days and I would never get it. When I spoke to him last Friday, he THEN told me that the engineer was putting together my alternator only to find out that they had the wrong housings. Now I can understand having the wrong part or waiting for a missing part to come in, but why did it take 3 weeks for my alternator to finally be put together to only then find out that you …

im about to order an alt for my 2005 dodge dakota 3.7L (DC website only lists alts for the 4.7L V8) but they happen to take the same exact alternator anways. so im 100% sure i want to go with the XP series, but they have a 250 amp alt and a 270 amp alt, and i cant really see any other difference other then 20 amps, is it really worth the extra 80 bucks for 20 more amps? that is unless there is more of a difference between the two then i saw.

I got an 04 GMC Sierra and wanting to put my system from my car into it. I have 1 XS battery and 3 Dekas. I am considering 1-2 more batteries (prob 1 xs). My question is I've been researching HO alts for it and I think the biggest ones in stock for my truck is the sp320 and the xp390. I'll be running close to 7K watts on 2 18s. I know I'll be drawing over 320 amps of current. Is the 320 plenty? or should is the 390 more in the ball park?

Hey Kyle, Stan, Rob. I have talked to Kyle about 4 weeks ago, emailed him 3 weeks ago, and left another voicemail with him today, left Stan a voicemail about a week ago and talked to Rob on the phone about a week ago. I have still yet to get anything figured out or my daily driver running. I haven't heard back from Kyle or stan in over 4 weeks and I was told my Rob that the situation would be taken care of by this week but i am still here waiting. Get back to me ASAP.

So I was looking on the DC Site for the available alts for a 1997 honda civic 1.6L and I saw there were 3 options: 1. HP Series for $399 - does 180 max & 130 idle 2. Pro Series for $320 - does 210 max & 100 idle 3. OEM Series for $349 - does 170 max & 110 idle I was wondering the differences between these different series lines.. and also why the pro costs less but has the highest max output?.. Is the hp way better? if so why?.. just wondering because the $400 tag on them.. I guess I just dont know the difference between the different lines of alts really. -Jordan

Ordered a 270xp alt almost 5 weeks ago for a 2004 300m. Was told there would be no wait but you were behind 2 weeks so I should get it once you guys were caught up. Two weeks went by and I got a phone call from Kyle saying you did not have parts in stock and were looking at 1 to 2 weeks. It has been two weeks and now on to the third. Have sent multiple emails that have gone unanswered. Robbie did reply via pm that he would look into it but have not heard since. Just wondering what kind of time frame I am looking at right now. Thanks

  24. Robbie mentioned you guys got something worked up for the volvo (2002 v40 1.9L 4cyl Turbo 5A). I'm going to get the timing belt replaced on the car pretty soon, just wanted to see if there was any time frame when the cases would be done, maybe I can stretch it out and get the alt installed at the same time Oh and would the new case / alt use the internals from the 230xp (jeep wrangler 4.0 I6) I got now?
