Whats up guys If you are from the tri state area of nebraska, Iowa, Mn or even farther, I'm posting to see how much interest there would be for a meet of forums members and others to hang out and demo systems. If you are on board or have any Ideas on a date/location. Iknow it would be a blast and from what I've seen there are quite a few members in my region. let me know, I hope this was the right place to post this.

i hooked up 2 PSI 18S and 2 Soundstream tx1.2000d amps. Gains and freq levels were set the same on each paired amp n sub. The first lil while i played it, everything worked fine. then all the sudden i notice one sub were playing lower than the other. wtf right...checked the impedance on the coils and they check out fine. So over the last few weeks ive done everything i can think of from checking connections, swapping subs around, new rca cables, even thought it might be the bass knobs, and still one of the amps is putting out less power. I can tell there is an issue because when i play a test tone, what ever sub is hooked to that amp suffers especially in the low range 20…

I kno this is a real subjective thing but Im just trying to get ideas.. When I sell my truck Ill be getting a 99 maxima and ill have about 1000 left over and that all goes to the system. Im down to 3 sub choices: -2 Rl-p 15s sealed w/700/800 watts to each -1 Rl-p 15 ported w/700/800 watts -1 Mag 15 ported w/around 1200 watts (assuming I can get one when Im ready to put my system together) Everything else is up to you guys; deck, comps, 6x9s, sub amp, ect So what would you do in my shoes? I am getting ready to sell a cell phone I am not using. Once it is sold I will have $260 to spend on something for car audio. I have three choices on how to spend the $260 and wanted some opinions from everyone else as to what you would do or what would be more beneficial. Option 1- Two rolls of raamaat. Spend an entire weekend deadning my car, I might have a day off by the time it gets here. Option 2- One roll of raamaat which is enough to do my front doors and my trunk hatch (completely sealed doors) and then buy the basics I need for wiring from Knukonceptz which is a 1/0 kit, POS battery terminal and three pairs of 2ch RCA's. My amp's been kicking into protect for no known reason, I've checked every possible connection and wire, and undervoltage is impossible, this is an Atomic 800.1 with a Battcap 2000 in the trunk of my car. I put in a tone cd playing 60hz, put a DMM on the 200 AC voltage setting, touched + and - respectively on the amp outputs then turned the HU up until the amp shut down and we're reading 8.4 volts before shutdown 8.4 x 8.4 = 70 watts am I correct or have I completely lost it? Please don't just jump on me for using a DMM, I know it's not the best way, it's just the most accessible way for me to find wtf is going on.

I am rebuilding my system and am going to start with my front stage. I have a 2004 Chevy Tahoe and listen mostly to rock, rap, and trance. It will be a daily driver and I am focused on SQ for the time being. I will be purchasing a pxa-h701 so I can run a 3 way active front stage and sub if I have the need to. I am also taking into consideration a 2 way front if that will work better. I have decided on kicks for the highs and mids, and the door for the midbass, but they will be crossed low. Today i hooked an amp up to my front stage. Sounds great, except for the buzzing i can hear when music is paused. My amp for the front stage is grounded the same way my amp for my sub is, and yet i still get buzzing. It's kind of a high pitched buzzing, with really high pitched sounds mixed in that kind of fluctuate. It only buzzes when there's a source though. Once i plug my iphone into the head unit, the buzzing starts. And using the touch screen on the iphone, such as scrolling, makes a sound. I can hear it whenever i scroll with the screen. My head unit can't be the problem. I used to have a low rumble with my sub (like this buzzing) and i fixed the ground on my hea…

Hey guys, I just got a new sub put in my car and my box is currently sliding around all over the place in the trunk, (I drive a Mazda Rx8 btw), the box sliding is annoying and unsafe.. so I'd like to fix it asap. I was hoping to get some ideas or suggestions on how to stop the movement! Thanks in advance! If pictures would help, let me know. I could try to get some!

well my set up is in the sig. i played the three6 mofia song late night tip (slowed down) and my amp cuts out. i can play any other song same vol and every thing just asking if some one knows y it dose that.

The other day I notice my voltage meter running a little low while driving but didn't follow up and a day ago I wake up for work and guess what not even the fuel pump comes on the battery was so dead and after a good hard look I find that my new terminal for my positive post isn't really clamping tightly so I wanted to ask as to what kind of gear people are using and are happy with. By the by I had this hooked up click here thanks for any advise. Btw I have top post on a red top yes I know I said red top but its what I had on hand until I get a different bat.

Has anyone ever had a chance to hear a set of Perfect8's? Was just doing a search on glass speaker enclosures as I think a BTL with a TI basket would look obscene in a lexan or glass enclosure, however impractical; and I ran across Perfect8. They are gorgeous, especially the Force; and knowing youtube can do any speaker no justice, I was curious if they really live up to that offensive price tag. http://www.perfect8.com/force.htm

I know a lot of people have built their own sub boxes or have had one custom done for their needs. For the people that have built their own. How hard would you say it is? also are there any diy's out there?

I haven't heard very much about hear much about these subs except that they are under rated at 600w RMS, my friends 2009 ssa icon just popped, (intentionally) but were now looking for something new and i was wondering if you could run the obsidian at over 600w RMS daily. coming from 1250 with the ssa to 600 is kind of a change so just wondering.

i had the fosgate t1001 amp old model not new,i was wondering how the saz1000 is comapible to that amp?the saz1000 is 279 dollars and i payed a shit load for my amp a few years ago from audio express 899 dollars to be exact lol a dam dollar a watt,thats why its hard to believe they do same power....

I currently have two RF P3 12s, a Hifonics 1208D amp, a 1 farad stinger cap. and 4awg wire all around. yet my electrical is VERY noticably weak, headlights dimming a TON and just overall weak flow rate. im looking at a new battery, like the http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/zencart...products_id=101 should i replace my factory battery, put it in line with what i have now, or replace it with where my cap. is? i plan on getting a new, more powerful setup this summer, so there will be even more power needed. any suggestions? if you need any more information, just ask. i konw i missed something thanks a ton!

I just bought a dodge stealth and I'm having a box built to take up where the spare tire is and I'm gonna be running a Orion hcca 15.2... My problem is amp choice... I've been looking at the hifonics bxi2006d but I'm not sure it that would be enough power for that sub... I'm tryin to stay under 300 for an amp because I still need to by a HO alt and all my wiring... Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated...

I have an ea alternator with an external voltage regulator. 12v under the hood and 16v 8400 in the rear. When i turn the vehicle on and adjust the regulator charge at 14.4 volts under the hood, the rear is charging at 21+volts. so, ill adjust the rear batt to charge at 18-19v and the 12v batt under the hood is charging at 12.4. Why? Could this be because the batcap 8400 hasnt been charged in several month and the 12v battery under the hood is at proper charge btw i do have a system setup to run a 12v and 16v....like a step down does this makes sense? lol

i still dont really get the concept of the idea. can somebody get into detail for me? wouldnt the sub being outside the box mess with the airspace?

I just bought a brand new Ram 1500 crew cab and I'm looking for ideas as far as the sub is concerned. Has anyone here done an install in a crew cab? I really don't want to go the shallow sub route. I would really like to find a way to keep my Icon 10. I realize that ported is out of the question so sealed will do. I was thinking about building a box to fit on the floor hump between the back seats. then I have to figure out how to mount 2 big a/b amps under the rear seat. Any thoughts?

What's the difference between copper and aluminum voice coils?

I got done (for now) sound deadening my truck today, and when testing, I noticed there was still a bit of a rattle coming from some unknown location. I put my hand on a bunch of metal panels, sat on the box, nothing. Finally, I decided I would wait till daylight to really diagnose the problem. Later, I put a shirt over the port to see how much air was moving... The sound stopped. I removed the shirt, it started again. Did it a couple more times and the same thing happened... Am I missing something, or do I just need to dress up ( ) my box for it to want to work properly? I'm stumped.
