So i am starting a new build soon over my old Sundown audio sa8 v 1.75s (4 of them). So i am looking for some peoples input on my new system. The subs i am looking to change out for are 1. One Sundown audio z-4 18 $609.00 2. One SSA Zcon 18 $542.00 3. One SSA evil 18 $799.00 4. Four Sundown audio Sa-8's v.2 $740.00 5. Two Sundown audio X-15's $778.00 Just wondering what everyone thinks. Three of them are single 18's, so wondering if that is better then the 2 15's and the 4 8's. The car is a 2004 hyundai elantra gt HB ( my old build log) http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/topic/52732-hyundai-elantra-hb/page-6?hl=holykaos Still have a few issues with the car, …

Hey guys, Just got my 2 sa-12s installed with my saz 1000d. My light dimming is very minimal at night so i figured i would do the big three before i do anything else... I currently have 4ga wire for my amp ground and amp +. Would it be okay to leave it like that? If its okay to leave it like that, can i do the big 3 in 4ga? or just do it in 0ga. I will never put a larger amp in this car if that helps with anything. saz1000d will be the largest amp it will ever see.

  5. Hey Guys.....I have recently purchased a SAZ 1500D and it's powering 2 Powerbass ES 15's in a sealed box. I'm now interested in getting more sound than what I've got now that I have more power. Here's my existing box. I've talked to a guy who's been doing car audio installs for many years. Being that I've got a trunk car and my back seat doesn't lay down, he thought this would be a good design. He said it basically takes all the bass out of my trunk and directs it into my cabin. It sounds like a good idea but I'd just like to get more opinions. It would be with my existing 15's. Here's the box design. It's 7 cubes net and has a 3.3 cube down chamber with an 8 X …

Hey I'm in the planning stages of a build for my cousin. She knows absolutely nothing about car audio but I'm slowly changing that. I have a request for you guys though... Show me some Fi X's, DCON's, 187's, anything. I need some good pictures of stuff around that price/power range. I know all of those have stock photos but I wanna see some upside down and in boxes and all that. Thanks in advance.

Just donated my 2 ssa icon 12's to my nephew for his first ever system. Building a new system for my f150 crew cab, debating one evil 15 or 4 ssa f8l's. Space doesn't matter and I have a few amps to choose from in my collection. Just curious if anyone is running either of these setups and can add any input. Thanks in advance

Hi i have a 2009 chevy silverado crew cab. I want to buy a pair of the sundown audio sa 10's im just concerned my box is a little small. The box is 1.02ft3 per chamber ported tuned to 36hz before driver displacement. Im currently running 2 jl audio 10w3v2 in a small sealed box(under the back seat which is where the new box will go)my sub amp is an alpine mrp m1000 i am running alpine components in the front and the deck is the pioneer avhp4300 which i love. I listen to almost exclusively metal ie disturbed, five finger death punch etc.... will these subs work in this box and how will they sound. I downloaded winisd and modeled them but to be honest i dont have a clue what…

  11. I'm looking for options for sub placement so I can keep as much of my trunk as possible (because I haul a ton of sh*t). My spare tire well hasn't been used since I did my deadening and to me it's just wasted space. My question is how do spare tire well installs sound? I've seen tons of them, but never heard one in person. Any other options so that I can retain as much trunk space as possible? And FYI, I'm planning on a simple 10" or 12", nothing too crazy.

  12. Hello once again, last time I wrote here I was debating on getting 2 10's, and a amp looking to spend maybe about $500 to $600, then I stopped chasing a dream that was a bit out of my grasps... I've always loved car audio, my friend "Hove" who is a member here who is the one who got me into all this mess lol, has had a system since jr high school. So needless to say, I'd like to introduce myself, and say the last time I spoke here I planned on limiting myself to overstock mass production MTX crap with a box and amp built into it, lol. Some how my buddy "Hove" talked me into getting something else... So heres what i ordered... I ordered: Sundown Audio SAZ-1000D FI BL 15" i…

  14. i am new at this whole car audio thing, so i need some advice and guidance. i was ordnally looking into jl w7 12 inch with 1000/1 amps but then someone told me they were over priced and not that great. so i looked into FI's. first off, i was looking into the BTL's 15 inch (probably n2). im not sure if i should get one or two, im not sure if one is gonna cut it. but i also need some advice on good amps, i know which wire kit im getting and i know the high output alternator im getting. and im a little confused on what some of the ohm and what ever do. what does ohm mean and what do they do? i have a choice of either dual 1 or 2. and all i want is someone to point me in the …

  15. I have a 2006 Mazda3 and a Kenwood DDX470 headunit. I also have Infinity 6829CF door speakers in my front doors, with stock speakers in the rear. Lastly, I have a Hifonics Brutus 1600.1D amplifier powering two Kicker CVX 10's at 1,200RMS @ 2Ohms. My problem is when I crank up my music, car on or off (but more so when the car is off), the radio will sometimes turn off and restart. My radio goes up to 35 on the volume wheel, with 32 being my self set distortion limit. I'm not sure it's really the song that matters, but I can crank up a song with a lot of bass to 32, and after beating away for 10 seconds or sometimes even less, the radio will just restart and then work nor…

well here's the deal. I've been into music production and recording engineering for a few years now. I've just recently got the idea to incorporate these skills into my car audio hobby. I'm posting a song below which I produced myself that peaks around 43-48 hz. I know it's not quite as low as most of you like to pound to, but hey it's my first attempt at making one of these. I'd like to get some feedback from you guys as to what you think I should do as far as going about making these tracks. I'd love to continue making them for the fellow members to use in their demo's/videos. If you guys could check out the song, download it and try it out and leave some feedback and/…

I'm basically wanting to compare frequency response curves of subs, and I'm wondering if people feel Winisd Alpha is a legit way to do that? I believe the program calls it "transfer function magnitude". The program also has a "spl" field that I also wonder about. Thanks.

Hi guys, within the next couple weeks I'll be getting my new amp that is a mono with only 1 set of speaker inputs (1 + and 1-). I have 2 speakers. Any ideas on how to mate the wires with the amp? My thought was to just get a couple of distro blocks instead of cramming wires into the amp. Thanks For all you info freaks I will be wiring it this way: (4 ohm-----4 ohm) (4 ohm----4 ohm) (2 ohm) (2 ohm) (1 ohm) Another p…

Ok, the wife wants to get a home theater in the near future. I used to work in a car audio shop that sold home audio as well, but I did not dabble in that at all. Right now what are some quality name brands that are not too much? Thankfully I can get quite a bit of different stuff near dealer cost so that helps. For reciever looking to stay below 750-800 MSRP, dvd player around 350-400 MSRP and who knows what on the speakers:) I am looking at a 5.1 reciever a 5 disk cd/dvd player the speakers to go with it At the moment I am looking at some Integra pieces and for spakers it is a toss up between Paradigm and Phase Tech with Phase Tech having the advantage right now.
