I am looking to do 1.5 ft3 with a slot port. I am thinking 20x14.25x12.5 with a .5 wide port by 9.8 inch. For the slot is it as easy as it seems just make 13.75 x 9.8 and keep it a half inch off the side wall?

I just purchased a SSA Xcon 10 and will be putting it in my 350z. My question is.. Would a premade enclosure from "Zenclosures.com" be fine for it? Heres the link to the enclosure http://www.zenclosures.com/Nissan-350Z-Subwoofer-Box-p/z110ar.htm Any input would be greatly appreciated! Kyle

Saw it on a few different threads over the interwebs. Alan Hall did a 160.2 at a 3x usaci meet. He's running two 15" Tantric HDD's and two RD D9 amplifiers. Damn Great score.

Iv been doing some research in advance of me competing next year. Although I will be doing a ton of testing on the termlab once I start building my setup, I wanted to get a starting point as it will obviously make things a bit easier. Basically my main question is going to be if anyone has actually tested the correlation between vent mach and spl readings. Iv been reading that best results come out of about a 0.05% vent mach in a build, but on the other hand you see high powered, high sd setups only using 8" aeroports that are putting up huge numbers. I may be over-thinking this, I'm just trying to grasp as many concepts as possible before I start testing so that I ca…

I just got my Fi Q 12" back from getting reconed and now I want to build a ported box. I've never built a ported box and wanted to see if these numbers were right. I downloaded the torres box calculator thing and punched in some numbers that seem to work, but I'm not positive if it's right or not. I have a maximum of 30" W, 15.5" H. Depth has no limit but I'd like to keep it a minimum. I just want a good daily box and was basing this off Fi's recommended 32hz.

Hey everyone. What do you think would be the best for music and spl box size for a 15" Zcon. Been looking but can't find the suggested box sizes on here. Thanks guys.

Hi guys, I'm about to start on my first build. I've got a temp. sub that has been laying around for a while that I want to use until i get some money saved up to rebuild. It's a sonly Xplod 12 (I know) it'll be running off a rockford fosgate 300.1 in a trunk. I'd like to have the tuning somewhere around 28hz-32hz.. I'm not sure how the driver will like it so i'll let you guys tell me what ya'll think. It'll be going in a 2002 Buick Regal trunk. The demensions are: W=45", L=45", H=21.5". Those are the max demensions. If you guys need any more information just feel free to ask. The subwoofer model is: XS-L120P5W

I am running 2 18s walled off in my 2002 grand prix. Before I took the 18s out I was doing a 157. I am looking for a component set(I believe stock size is 5.25) so that I can hear my mids and highs over my subs. I am aiming for slightly louder next year as well. Going to try to break that 60 mark. I am not looking to do much fabrication wise so I would like to stick with stock size. I will make a cutout for a super tweeter if that is something someone recommends. I have looked and hunted around a ton, but can't really figure out where to start and what to look for. Any help would be appreciated.

UPDATED!!! finally got everything worked out that i wanted, plus a neat addition or two. ***When downloading, make sure it is saved with a .exe file extension, or it will not open properly. the 'Open with...' window will pop up otherwise*** (thanks gottahavbass917 and a user from another forum) To do this, go to the folder that the calculator is in and click tools in the toolbar at the top (click alt on the keyboard if you can't see the toolbar). Then click folder options. then click the view tab, and in the advanced settings window, there's a check box that says 'hide extensions for known file types'. Uncheck that and you will see the .uexe file extension on the calculat…

Hey guys. Looking to do my first bandpass 4th order. The reason for this enclosure would be to push all pressure into the cabin of a car through a ski port behind the center rear seat. I understand how vented and sealed enclosures are designed, however bandpass 4ths seem to confuse me a bit. I have searched and found many sources, but I get strange or mixed answers. Please help me clear up some things. I am looking for a transient response with good output. Hoping to get the lows in my passed frequency without sacraficing too much of the 60-80hz range. I have heared that the sealed portion will mainly control the Low Pass and the ported portion will mainly control the Hig…

I'm thinking about trying out a new enclosure for the Xcon's. Current box is 7+ cubes I'm thinking about going sealed and having them firing up. However, I don't think I'm going to like them sealed. If I do a new box and it's sealed, I'd like to keep within these dimensions 48" w x 16" d x 12" h And if I do another ported enclosure, I'd cut the width down and just build a taller enclosure and tune it to 30-33hz. Let me know what yall think and what suggestions yall may have. Thanks!

So I am stuck, cannot decide what to do or which direction to even go at this point, need some assistance and I will try to make this short as to avoid the TLDR syndrome. To start off here is what I have currently in the vehicle (a 2009 Honda Fit), (2) Sundown SA 12’s wired to 1ohm on a SAZ1500D. They currently sit in a ported box that is 20”Hx31”Wx16”D, with (3) 4” aero ports 12” long, yielding a box of 4cuft net, tuned at 38Hz subs up port back. While this has been the loudest box I have built, it’s not the only one. I built another 17”x39.5”x16” with (1) 6” aero port tuned at 34Hz sub/port up, and finally another with the same dimensions however this last one was a slo…

Hi, I would like some thoughts on my box design. From what I've calculated, the numbers work. I'm tuning to 35 hz. The colors are to distinguish the different panels. Also, please disregard the different thickness of the walls. I didn't want to have to build the box again just to make the thickness right. The curved corners are to represent where I will kerf. http://i.imgur.com/01zoy.png It is 15" x 22" x 16"(outside). Thanks

So I'm installing a Xcon 12" and was wondering what would be the best placement of the sub and port? Size of the box and tuning? Or if I should so sealed and ported? If ported what type of port? It is going in a 01 eclipce hatchback!

I have 2 sa15s and i'm designing a new box. It's a daily driver but i want it to be a very loud daily driver. i currently have a hifonics hfi1500 (pending upgrade) big 3 done, XS Power D925 on the way along with second skin coming. I'm probably going to go around 7.5-8 cubes after displacement and wondering which one will get louder to. If i go aeroport how big and long should i go. Any input is appreciated! Thanks

  25. I have a question for anyone on here that has experience with 6th order enclosures or blow-through boxes. I have finally gathered everything I needed for my build in my silverado (standard box). The part that has been bothering me is that the build that I originally based my idea on was Jack Chisam's Sleeper. The basic design was a series ported 6th order with the front chamber untuned and the back tuned around 30hz. it is a 3:1 ratio 6th order. The woofers I chose were the Zcons (6) and I am running them from a American Bass 1100.1 (maybe 2 in the future). The amp and batteries are in the very back of the bed on the back side of the box. So, with all this being s…
