So, I'm set out to make a ported box for one 12" SSA DCON. I looked at all the specs, and here is what I have come up with: Width - 30 in. Height - 14 in. Top - 12 in. Bottom - 16 in. Wood - 0.75 in. thick Square port width - 1.5 in. Square port interior length - 9 in. This puts my Interior volume at 2.311 ft^3, and the tuning frequency at 28.28 Hz. This is about the best I can do with dimensions that can be easily cut, and that will fit my Scion tC. Do you guys have any suggestions? This is my first box I will be building, and I know all about the supplies, I just need to learn more about the dimensions of box building, as well dealing with the ported vo…

  5. ok so im designing a box for two 12 inch xcons, ported going into my 2007 scion tc(Hatchback). Right now i have a decent box but its time for a rebuild. My box right now is 40.5 inches wide, 20 inches deep, and 17 inches high behind the rear seats. Its tuned at about 29-31 htz(not too sure). It does a 143.7 on the meter sealed up on the glass. No deadening, no beauty panels. But my concern is that my port is an Lport on the drivers side, it only goes halfway across the box so one woofer is above the port and the other is not. Im worried that the sub above the port is loading off of it and the other is not. If it is i want to fix this, so a rebuild is underway. It has bee…

Hey Y'all, im new to this (Forum) well im in the market for some new subs and dont have a big multi thousand dollar budget becouse im only 17 and am working on a farm this summer, well any way i was looking at some Alpine 15"s and was doing some measuring/planning and ive come to realize that i dont have enough or much room in the trunk of my 89' ford thunderbird so im just going to stick with 12's and after seeing/hearing vid's on youtube of the Fi SSD's they sound like some pretty good/stout subs for the money. well i was noticeing that the subs have a rateing of 800 wrms and im guessing the maximum would be around 1,600-1,800 watts but ive been told these subs can hand…

So I decided to go with 2 12" Zcons D2s and I just wanted to see how well I did my box. I'm trying to learn how to design boxes better and wanted you guys to check it out. I want to have it in a ported box with port and subs front firing sealed off from the trunk of my 2012 Fusion. It will also have internal bracing with 45s. I have 2 Crescendo Bc2k and will have a H/O alt with a xs d3100 in the back. I want to have the port in the middle but I'm stuck with either doing a slot or aero port. The slot doesnt allow me to get as much room as the aero does obviously and also the aero allows me to tune lower. I would like to tune around 32 hz. Does that sound good for the zcon?…

  14. Ok I got my new install done which consist of 2 15 xcons facing cabin in a sealed box, ran off a crescendo BC 3500. My question is will it be a significant gain in output if I go with a ported box instead. Only reason we went sealed was shortage in trunk space given space we had enough for opt sealed enclosure. Any info?

  16. Hello all, I have been away from the forums for some time since graduating college and started working again. Now that I have some money to finally move away from these seemingly low powered setups (6 systems since 2012), I am looking for help with my wall build. I am going to be building the base to the wall in my 2016 Ford Focus sedan in a week or two, and there is a lot of room to work with (over 30 cubes). I will be running 2 18" ZCONs on (undecided) either a 5.5k or 6.5k amp with supporting electrical (batt bank, lots of OFC wire, and HO alt). This is my daily, and I just want a ground pounder with no care to what numbers it'll put up in the lanes. I would like to de…

Im designing my wall for two 18 zcons. Going in an 87 dodge colt lol will have them wired to .7 on an audioque 3500.1. upgrading to a 5k or 7k in near future so keep that in mind. so far i figure I will have 14 ft3 for my subs after all displacements. so 7 cubes each My port will be 197 sq in tuned to 34. will be 5.5" x 35 3/4" roughly 14 sq in per foot. Am i building the box too big? since i plan on upgrading to bigger power should i go smaller? also give opinions on port size and tuning. or do i stop asking questions and just get it done and find out lol

Hey everyone, i have 2 T10001's powering 4 15" cvr's and im looking into a more reliable subwoofer that will belt out the lows a little bit better. I have narrowed it down to 2 18" Bl's with the cooling option(as i heard its neccesary) Question... i have 46L 27T and 19D to work with, however i must put a divider in because i will be running 2 amps, 1 per woofer(i dont want to blow one due to mechanical errors) So if i cut that in half i get 4.679 cubes with the port 22.25x2.75 per chamber. 35hz 4.679 without woofer displacement. Is this giong to be sufficient enough because i know it says 5-10 cubes for this woofer. Im really looking to keep the same output as my cvrs bu…

Hi guys Trying to get started on enclosure this morning for a Jeep Cherokee. Want to be able to see out of the back window. Listens to Metal/Rock. Tuning ~ 35-37hz okay Amp ~ Rockford Fosgate 40001 I now have these max internal dimensions to work with before speaker and bracing displacement. 40" W 23" H 24" D Thanks for any help Shizzzon I've sent you a new PM Goal is doing what it takes to get max air space so a ported enclosure is possible. Subs up port back. Box will also be double baffled. Can anyone double check my work and see what kind of port you come up with. Probably one rear chamber and one big port slotted and vented. Thanks in advance, Joe

Has anyone ever had 2 boxes or separate chambers with 2 different tuning frequencies? ie. 2 subs, 1 box/chamber @ 26hz other @34hz. If so, can you explain your thoughts on how well it worked or didnt work for you. I was thinking about this option, but I am beginner enough to not consider all of the pros and cons in depth. Thanks for the input.

So, Ive been roaming around this forum to find some ideas on some box ideas for my 2 18" Fi Qs going in a 2000 Chevy Blazer. I listen to mostly rap that go into the low 30hz range and higher so yess this is my daily driver, so Ive designed some boxes of my own to see what you guys think about them. Hereeeee we go... Box Design 1: Separate chambers, 7.25 cu. ft. each after displacements @ 28hz - Subs forward, port forward Box Design 2: Separate chambers, 6.75 cu. ft. each after displacements @ 32hz (I knowww its kinda wicked design but oh well..) - Subs back, port forward Let me know what you guys think!! Thanks for looking :)

Hi folks. I just picked up a pair of L7 10's to go in my single cab 06 Sierra. I would like to go ported if I can make it play loud and hard enough over a sealed setup to be worth while, however I am not sure as to what my best bet would be in terms of porting for this. The enclosure dimentions will be18"Hx57"Wx7D which is good for 2.91 cubes if my math is right. I've been running 1 12" powerbass L12 in a 2 cubic ft ported enclosure with the sub behind the pasenger seat and one 4" port firing up from the top on the oposite end and it has sounded pretty decent, but I want to run more power and get louder and due to mounting depth issues a more substantial higher power ha…
