So Im collecting parts to do a blowthrough in my fullsize chevy regular cab. 1988 k1500. Just bought a crescendo 3500. gonna get a singer 250a alt and a couple 3100s and one up front. multiple runs of 0. okay so now for my question. i have been pondering ideas on sub/box setups. I have been set on 2 18s for a while, but got to thinking about 4 15s. and idk whether to a 4th order or just a regular ported box. i can do the rregular box tuning but would need some help designing a 4th order as i have read and have yet to wrap my brain around it. My goals: Daily, Hairtricks (move air yo) not super low. 30-32 (in regular box tuning terms) not sure where that would be in a 4th o…

I want to try out a transmission line box or quarter wave, whatever its technically called, and want to know if im off to a good start... I want to use a 10" Fi BL Dual 1 so 41.5fs with an sd of 310cm^2 = 48in^2 1130/41.5/4*12 = 81.7 inches... so my design looks something like this... I dont know much about these kind of boxes it just sounds like a fun project, If it turns out horrible I only lose a few hours and a little off my wood stockpile...What do you guys think about this design and these measurements?

Well thaks to McVay in Oswego we finally have some "local" shows scheduled for the 2005 competition season for IASCA. The first show is on March 27th, with one show a month all the way up to the month of October. I don't know about the rest of you guys but since I was unable to accrue enough points towards Finals last season, I just can't wait to get back into the lanes this season. For a list of the IASCA Events just click IASCA Event Calender

ALright, I'm getting to the point of install. I am curious about the whole gain knob deal. I have always just turned it up to where it sounded good, and went on. I remember reading something about matching low level volts? So, anyway, my headunit is a whopping 2volts. - that goes to my Phoenix Gold EQ, which has a built in line driver, adjustable from 1 to 8 volts. Then, back at my Memphis amps, they are able to recieve between 1 and 4 volts. SO..gimmie a run down on how to get this stuff adjusted properly..or is there a link that could tell me and save somebody the typing?

Been bumping my 15" SSD for a while now and I'm still loving every second of it except for one thing. The rattle. Its not the trunk rattling its my back deck speakers, and the reason their rattling so bad is because the sub is firing up towards them. My dad had to buy a special bolt and locking nut to keep the screws from backing out because every time i listened to it the screws holding the back deck speakers in backed out about 2 inches. Its really annoying, you either have to listen music with the bass so low it doesn't rattle them or so loud you can't hear the rattle. *And I'm not taking the back deck speakers out they help fill the cabin with highs So here is my plan…

  19. alrighhtttyy guys.... i got a different build that i need some help with because i realized the two SPL15s had a slim chance of working out =[. I'm putting a ascendant audio mayhem 18" in the trunk of a 01 chrysler sebring sedan. The sub is going to be front firing and im just going to keep the back seats down (when i put them up for people to sit in them i will just cut the subs off). The trunk is pretty flat and the box should be pretty easy to load in from the car with the seats folded down. I have L29 x W34 x H18 to work with. for you who dont know a mayhem is essentially a loaded BTL.

  20. Hello , I need a new box design for a friend. It is for a Soundstream XXX sub in 18". Power : a Soundstream XXX 15000 amp !!! It is too much, but it's what my friend have bought !!! He'll have to turn the gain down for daily listening. He wants to compete in spl but needs to be able to listen to music. Can he have a way to change tuning / port easily ? The box will be like a wall, panels will be added to the sides of the box to make it look & act like a real wall ! Here are the max dimensions : 38.58" (Height) x 35.43" (Width) x 31.49" (Depth). If it is too big, we can have it smaller, just tell us. He wants 45's in all corners, and some kind of slot port. No tube …

I would love to use PR for car audio application. Before I start designing the system I have a couple questions. 1. Will the automobile environment be too abusive for PRs? With a vehicle in motion, going over bumps and accelerating/deaccelerating, cause the PR's cone to move affecting performance? 2. I have read that downward firing a PR will cause the diaphragm to be displaced downward. If the PR is mounted cone up will the cause a similiar situation (diaphram sinks towards spiders)? In my current vehicle the only way I can use PRs is with cones pointed upward.

  24. hey guys i have a 2006 toyota tundra access cab. currently my sub is in a 2.5cuft box tuned around 32hz. its much too small. it is being powered by a percision power black ice bk1300.1d. and i have been fiddling around on sketch up trying to make a box to fit nice and tight up against my seat in the back passenger side. the box will be roughly 4 cuft with 2 4" pvc ports. will this be enough port area for my sub? the box i have it in now has much too small of a port. i am planning to tune to around 30hz this time. sub will be roughly in the center of the two front seats firing foward, with the ports facing the drivers side. there will be one seat still usable in the rear b…
