Hey SSA Members I have 2 Mtx 9510-44 that I am looking to design an enclosure for, now I'm not to sure if its possible but I think it is, I would like to be able to do hair tricks, for power I have a Lightning Audio 3000 watt mono amp which is putting out a steady 1900 watts, the car is an 03 cavalier with factory electrical big 3 and two optima red tops. I'd like to fire the subs forward and possibly run the port on the rear deck lid sealing off the trunk from the cabin. my max dimensions are 36x16.5x24 I dont think it needs to be that big but I am new to hair tricks so I need some direction Thanks everyone.

i was thinking something like this non walled with a 2:1 ratio at 50hz? or do u think my setup like this would be louder?

I bought a x12 and have made the reccomended ported box for it. I def sounds amazing when the windows are down in my truck it gets really low. But its not really as loud as i want and most of my music just dosnt go that low.. The other thing is i have a pair of harrison soundlab external subsonic filters... And a pair of right angle adapters from radioshack.. Could these be lowering the signal to the amp and decreasing my out put? Any help would be great. Iv heard you can fill the box a little to raise the tuning frequency.. Idk the sf are at 30hzbtw

So im making a thread that may help people in the future on different enclosures for different applications. So what are the physical differences in an spl enclosure compared to a daily driver enclosure or sq enclosure? What separates the two into different catagories? for example does a box that is bigger and tuned high make it a spl enclosure or vise versa? Thanks in advance for your expertize.

I would like to know where I can get some MDF for a temporary/test enclosure I plan to build, I don't care how cheap or low in quality it is, since this will only be a test enclosure, I live in southern wisconsin, if you know of any stores here or any online shops that are cheap let me know. This will be for my 15" xcon for a temporary sealed enclosure for now, and after I get it in its new enclosure I will use this box for future testing purposes. i did do a quick search through the forums and I got zero results, kinda weird.

I discovered this on a Honda forum that someone had posted, the description of the box are in the web browsers little tag (this is how it is using firefox). They range from 1-2 subs, and 2 cf all the way to 4/5 cf. The tuning is a little high on a few of them from 35-37 hz, but theres some lower. I think this may help a few out, Sub Box Diagrams

My car audio team is holding a Car Audio competition in the town of Lodi. Is the opening of a slot port supposed to be on the face of the enclosure, same direction as the sub is facing? All the boxes I have seen have them there...is that the requirement, or, just common way to build it?

Every one says that the re-calculator is off so can someone here help me design a box for a 12 BTL Here are my max demensions 15h x 28w x 18d......I would like the box as close to 2.5 after all displacements as I can tuned to 32hz (sub disp is .18) Thanks to anyone who can help.

Hey guys, I have been modeling different alignments for my Dayton RSS265-4 HO woofers. I like the look of 1.2-1.4 cu.ft after displacement for both of the tens, tuned around 30 hz. My question to you guys is how much port area I should shoot for? Would two 3" aeros be adequate? According to the modeling program, I would exceed 25m/s vent velocity using 2 3" aeros, but not by much. This install isn't meant to shatter spl records and each woofer will probably never see more than 300 watts, so taking this into account I don't really think I need such large port area. I need to make a snorkel for my truck so i need to build a fiberglass tube that goes through my fender and up the A pillar. how should i go about building a fiberglass tube in this manor? also what is the customary way to attach such a thing to the outside of the vehicle? thanks.

I'm gonna build a new box for two 12's and was thinkin about porting it through the rear deck with two 4" ports with the subs at an angle to the back.What do yall think about that?

In the process of designing a box for the 15 Loaded BTL. Can I design an "L" slot port box to have a tuning freq of approx 40hz for comps...and then just put 1.5" thich MDF along one side of the port? Since calc's tell me that will bring me down to 32hz. So the port will be approx 6.5 inches wide for a 40hz tune and 5 inches wide for a 32hz. I'm just wondering because only the last 14inches or so will be 5 inches...the other 14ish inches (inside the box) will still be 6.5 inches. Will this screw with tuning...and will this raise or lower my ACTUAL tuning freq?

This will be my first show in over 2 years by this time! Last event I was in was the 2002 SLAP Finals where I was 4th. My system isn't designed for dB Drag so I will be outclassed a bit, but it will be fun to get into the lanes again. ALright, I'm getting to the point of install. I am curious about the whole gain knob deal. I have always just turned it up to where it sounded good, and went on. I remember reading something about matching low level volts? So, anyway, my headunit is a whopping 2volts. - that goes to my Phoenix Gold EQ, which has a built in line driver, adjustable from 1 to 8 volts. Then, back at my Memphis amps, they are able to recieve between 1 and 4 volts. SO..gimmie a run down on how to get this stuff adjusted properly..or is there a link that could tell me and save somebody the typing?

Someoneon here linked a tool that cuts PERFECT circles. It was an attacent for a drill. Had a shield to block the saw dust and everything. Can someone link it or find it? I'm on mobile and can't use the site so well

NEED SOME HELP DESIGNING SYSTEM FOR 99 DODGE QUAD CAB, HAVE A FRIEND WITH CHEVY EXTENDED CAB WITH 2 ROCKFORD 10'S UNDER THE BACK SEAT AND SOME OTHER SPEAKERS IN THE FRONT DOOR PANELS. HE HAS 2 ROCKFORD 1200 AMPS, THIS THING ROCKS BETTER THAN ANY I HAVE EVER HEARD. I WANT MINE TO BE AS GOOD. DONT LIKE RAP OR BOOM BOOM MUSIC, WONT TO ROCK WITH LOTS OF BASS AND MID RANGE, METAL MUSIC COUNTRY AND CLASSIC ROCK. WANT TO USE ALL ROCKFORD FOSGATE STUFF, ANY SUGGESTIONS??? PLEASE HELP, THIS STUFF IS DIFFERENT THAN A SUPERTUNER 3 WITH 200 WATT EQ.

ive been hearing that the tantrum amp can actually get u put in higher power classes in some organizations because of the output at 4ohm..anybody know if this is true or not? and if so what organization does this.

The guys at kicker said to tune to 39hz for 4x12" CVR's in a 9sq foot box. I don't see many people tuning much higher than 35hz though. So should I take their word for it and tune for 39hz or drop down to 35? This is my first ported box so, I'm somewhat at a loss.

If I drill a whole just big enough for the speaker wire to pass through what should I use to seal up the whole so no air leaks out? Thanks

Are there any SQ comps that are regularly in NC? I see that a lot of you SQ guys are from VA, where do you usually compete? Any local organizations or the like? I have never competed before, so I would appreciate it if someone could point me in the right direction. While I'm at it, what are the different SQ classes, and their requirements?
