Hey all. I have my Fi SSD 15 in a box right now that is tuned wayyy to high. So I was crunching some numbers for a new box. Here are the specs, can you all look over them and see if everything is correct please? 28" wide 17" tall 28" deep Port: 4.5" wide 15.5" tall 41" long Sub up port back. 3.9 cubes net, @ 31hz, 17.88 sq in of port per foot Also with that box, should an SSD 15 hit the lows pretty good?

I know I never start these topics, but I am wanting to build a really cheap fun Street B install for my truck once it is out of the shop, the most cone surface for Street B competition is 3 10's ok so I have narrowed it down to Options: 1 - the RFD 2210 (HX2 single 4 ohm 10") $109 2 - the Kicker S10D (round solo baric singl 2 ohm 10") $109 3 - the Cerwin Vega Vega 10" single 4 ohm $109 4 - dont sell my 2 eclipse aluminums and buy one more svc 4 ohm aluminum and compete with them (cheapest would be the 4th option, but I am hesitant to por them, warbleed really helped me out with figureing out a ported box design despite eclipse's lack of info for porting the Aluminums…

Is it possible to to a T shaped slot port? I'm designing a box right now with 2 woofers and no divider. I was planning on making a L shaped slot port off to one side of the woofers, but got to thinking about putting the port in between the woofers and making it shaped like a T without a divider in the middle. No clue if this would work or if the velocity of the air coming from each side would create turbulence where they meet and make the port less efficient. I would put a divider in but I'm limited on space and a divider makes the port length longer per side and cause me to increase the size of the box to stay optimum and the dimensions are larger than I have to work wit…

looking to free up some space in my nissan 350z so i'll be replace the box i built for my single sundown audio sa-10 with a stealth box. now before i do this i was wanting to know if this box will work great with my sub tune at 33-35hz instead of 39hz. The box i have now is a 1.095 cubic feet vented box tune at 35hz with the sub facing up and vent facing forward. h**p://www.ebay.com/itm/350Z-Ported-Vented-Sub-Box-Subwoofer-Enclosure-Plexiglass-Amp-Rack-39hz-/261676372251?hash=item3ced20911b&vxp=mtr

Finally designed my first enclosure. It is for a 12" GCON. ~2.5 ft^3 tuned to ~33hz. Does my math/design look correct? Does this look like a design that will translate into the real world effectively? It will be going in the trunk of a 1996 Honda Accord sedan powered by an AQ1200. This is what I came up with to fit my trunk space needs. Any critiques and opinions are welcome and greatly appreciated.

I have an 04 Avalanche that I want to build a box as a center console since it's the only place for a reasonably sized box. I have overall dimensions of 13"wide by 24" long and 16" high with 3/4MDF. I haven't worked with ported boxes so I'm a little unfamiliar designing them. My plan is to have the sub rear facing and at the top of the box, with a slot port on the bottom facing back. I will be driving the Fi BTL 12 with a Kicker KX800.2 which is tested at 1038w. I enjoy mostly rap\hiphop style music, but want good all around sound. So my questions are: How do the box and port dimensions look? Is there a different port style that would work better? Does the port placement…

Would two 6" aero ports be too much for 1 - 15" Xcon? In June I'm looking to fix suspension AND put the bump back in the Camry... Porting it and sealing it from the trunk is the plan ... bow would be about 3.9 cubes with two 6" ports tuned around 33hz.... will be lower power for a while (500w) and later on thinking of going to something better...

Hi all, I have 2 boxes that ive built and i am in the process of testing. ->build log here<- they both have the same interior volume and tuning and all that good stuff. so the internal volume is about 2.45 cuft with a tuning of ~34 hz with about 40 sq inches of port each. now i had a box that was 2.5 cu ft tuned to 34 hz with 39 sq inches of port and didnt get much overexcursion. so heres my problem. on low notes like 28-34 hz the sub barely moves and creates ALOT of sound, im very shocked by this. but when you get to like 36-40 hz the sub reaches its limits of excursion and anything above 40 its just bottom out city! im very scared about this because in the o…

The box is for a pair of DC Level 4 18's in the back of a 2007 Suburban with all seats in, including the third row.I have the following for outer dimensions to work with: 27 x 49 x27 Now my drawing shows a height of 26 1/2, but I'm only counting the height at 25 3/4 in the Box Calc program because the top board was double baffled. I'm seeing a box tuning at 33hz. Here is my other design, this one is pretty much the same as the first except for both subs and port firing up. What do you guys think? Box Design: I think I still like the whole port and subs up design better. My current box is a dual chambered double slot ported box. Each chambered tunned to 32hz. Has anyone…

ok i am pending the idea of having an amp rack instead of a backseat ( it depends on the qoute i get) and since the amp's would be in the open i was thinking about totally enclosing it and having the top back pexiglass so since i think to think totally through i was looking at ventliation for it since has been hot out latley ( i live in florida) and i am wondering what others with amp racks have used to. first i was thinking 12v fans but then i thought that i would need a exit hole for the air to move out. then i started looking at Liquid Cooling for computers since computers are 12v. and that is all i could think of.

I am going to start on this project very soon so I thought I'd start planning right now.. Here is what I wanted to do.. I did not want to sacrifice my whole cargo area so I got my sub box made to take up only half of the whole cargo space so I can have half of the space to store things or whatever.. And then I realized that I have no place to mount my kicker 2500.1 which is a fairly large amp so I decided that I would want to build a false floor with plexiglass on the other half of the cargo space in front of my subwoofer box.. (as of now my amp is sitting on my rear seat folded down (i definitely do not like it at all and I do not want to mount my amp on the sub box as …

i am about to attempt to build my first box for my two db drive platinum 12s and a few friends have been telling me that a down fire box would be the way to go I am wondering if it really makes any difference in the bass level or spl I also planning on porting the box but I'm not sure where the best location for the port would be I'm new to all this when it comes to fabricating an enclosure. Its going to be about a 4 cubic foot box in an extended cab s10 with the port tuned to around 32-35 hertz. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

I have always wondered this and I'm hoping to get it answered. Is there a better way to aim subs? Most people I've seen have had their subs in the front of the trunk aiming to the back of the trunk. But people have also had the subs aim towards the back seats. And I've seen subs aimed to the sky. Is there any advantages to aiming subs to different places? What about the port. Most ports I have seen are right next to the woofer. What if the port was on the side of the box, what about the back? Top? Is this just the way people do it, or is there an advantage of having the port next to the woofer.... Any input is greatly appreciated
