Looking to see if anyone can design a box for me. Gimme a layout and dimensions and whatever else would help. Don't know if anyone on here just does free ones because they like to help people? or charge a fee. Just let me know if you can help me. It would be for a single Xcon18. Thanks

So i went to the new shop opening up in my area and got to talking with the guys there and well one thing lead to another and i was cramming a box into the backseat of my volvo. Did i forget to mention it was for free? eaa free and after something ive decided on building a wall, yea not alot of people do 1 15" or 1 18" in a wall but this box fits no where else so why not? This box seems well constructed and after building my false floor which i am going to start with the new friends i made at Kustom Tints and Graphics 2, i honestly cant wait just because i liek how the box looks but im not sure if I AM A just kinda bolt the box down or build a baffle over the front and ma…

Would two 6" aero ports be too much for 1 - 15" Xcon? In June I'm looking to fix suspension AND put the bump back in the Camry... Porting it and sealing it from the trunk is the plan ... bow would be about 3.9 cubes with two 6" ports tuned around 33hz.... will be lower power for a while (500w) and later on thinking of going to something better...

  8. Hi all, I have 2 boxes that ive built and i am in the process of testing. ->build log here<- they both have the same interior volume and tuning and all that good stuff. so the internal volume is about 2.45 cuft with a tuning of ~34 hz with about 40 sq inches of port each. now i had a box that was 2.5 cu ft tuned to 34 hz with 39 sq inches of port and didnt get much overexcursion. so heres my problem. on low notes like 28-34 hz the sub barely moves and creates ALOT of sound, im very shocked by this. but when you get to like 36-40 hz the sub reaches its limits of excursion and anything above 40 its just bottom out city! im very scared about this because in the o…

im trying to design a box for 4 sa-12's and i want to make sure its not too big. its 8.5 cubes after all displacements with 108 sq inches of port area. ill be powering the subs with an AQ2200D so each sub will see roughly 550 watts, which is why i made the box slightly bigger then normal, i just wanted to know if you guys think this sounds ok. ohh and it will be tuned to 32hz

I discovered this on a Honda forum that someone had posted, the description of the box are in the web browsers little tag (this is how it is using firefox). They range from 1-2 subs, and 2 cf all the way to 4/5 cf. The tuning is a little high on a few of them from 35-37 hz, but theres some lower. I think this may help a few out, Sub Box Diagrams

  11. I am currently taking advantage of the Audibel Customs free enclosure special and getting myself an SSA Icon 12". I am going to be going with a ported enclosure, and Quentin is currently working on my design. the first design he had was with the sub on an angle, firing towards the hatch, and port firing out the top. I had envisioned a upward firing sub and port, and a raised sub floor in the back to make it all flush. Now I realize that the box is just going to be so big regardless that the sub floor idea went out the window. I am only concerned with it hitting hard, going deep, and being able to keep up with my tastes in music. I drive a '05 Scion Xa, 160 amp alt, 0g …

ok so the car is a 98 Dodge Stratus. I have to have access to my spare tire and would prefer a removeable enclosure but thats probably not happening. What i have now are two boxes 3/4" MDF 3.13cubes each tuned to 36hz. i want something that'll look more custom and less amateur. I've considered finishing my boxes and what not but its really not worth it to me, i'd rather just toss the boxes (not actually throw away) and start with fiberglass. I'm pretty good with fiberglass but never tried it in cars/audio, i think i can manage though. what i really need from you all is ideas on how to make this look good, i'm wanting front firing subs like they do now, and my amps a…

I'm going to build a truck-style enclosure for a Fi Bl10 with a 3'' aero. Dimensions are w: 38 h: 12 d1: 6 d2:8 This is 1.217ft^3 internally. After the bl10 displacement it comes out to roughly 1.1ft^3. When determining the port length, online calculators asks for: Volume of Box in Cubic Feet Tuning frequency Port diameter Number of Ports I want to end up with a tuning of somewhere around 33-35hz, depending on how long of a port will fit in my box. So...... Do I put …

  15. Okay, from what ive read over the past few weeks ive decided that i want to go with an active frontstage. My DEH-7800MP is capable of this from what ive read. I plan on glassing the front doors to accept a well acoustically matched woofer and tweeter combo, i was hoping someone here could give me some suggestions on what woofer and tweeter to use so that i have little flatspots in my sound. Also for reference i hate harsh pingy tweeters, i don't particularly like all my highs to sound like crashing symbols! lol.... With switching to an active front stage this also means i will be completely losing my rear audio am i correct? Thats the only thing ive been confused about! T…

so ive been looking around for ideas how to get mach5 mli 6.5s and tweets in my doors, but the mounting depth is kicking my a$$. the magnet will hit the window when its rolled down if i put it in the stock location. im wanting to do minimal modification to my doors to keep it as stock as possible*. i saw this and figured it would be perfect for me, if it wont hurt the speaker at all. i cant think of any reason it would, but im just making sure. should i seal behind it with something, or just use some deadening on the door itself? any input would be nice, thanks! hope this works, and if it does work i hope it comes out cleaner than that one

  19. I know I've seen plenty of people use spray/roll on bed linings for the outside of their enclosures and such. I am wondering two things though, was it applied to the bare MDF or with a primer on the MDF first and how well is it holding up after "x" amount of time? I'm about to start on the enclosure and amp rack for my Jimmy. I had planned to paint the port to match the truck and use standard charcoal colored cabinet carpet to cover the box and amp rack with. Though upon thinking about possible liquid damage to the MDF on the floor/amp rack I'll be building I thought perhaps the liquid bed liner may be the better route. I have no experience with it though so I was ho…

  20. Okay so I went to Home Depot to get some MDF, Glue, & Screws. So I see the 3/4" MDF and grab a sheet. Then I get home, take it off the truck and find out it's 5/8" instead. Would it be okay to use 5/8" instead of 3/4"? Its going to be for a Single Cab, Downfiring Enclosure, With a Double Baffle. Sub will be AQ HDC3 12"

I've got two of these but temporarily I want to see what one can do, I'll be running it off of 900wrms. Anyone want to design me a nice efficient box, tuned anywhere from 27-32 hz? Sub will have to be facing forward, aero ports preferred, 6" PVC pipe is what I'd like to use. Max dimensions (to keep it under window line) would be 54" length x 22" height x 15" depth.

I am currently waiting on my 1st xcon and want to run 2 eventually but don't know if I can. I can slide a 31W x 12 3/4H x 29D through the rear seat opening. That is about the max size i can do through the seat opening i could go an extra half inch in the sides and maybe an inch on height but would be tight squeeze. Also i want ported if possible. Thanks for any help.

I was cleaning out my room, and found some literature that came with my DLS components. I didn't notice this bit of info when I was doing the install. But DLS recommends a chamfered baffle for the midbass. I simply made 1/2" birch rings with no chamfer. My question is, will I notice a big difference in midbass response by going the chamfered route? The rings are fairly thin being only 1/2", I don't think the backwaves are really hitting it. But I want to get some second opinions before I take my doors apart to redo the rings. http://www.dls.se/files/701/2/baffle_installation.pdf Pics of my baffles: passenger side driver side

ok i am pending the idea of having an amp rack instead of a backseat ( it depends on the qoute i get) and since the amp's would be in the open i was thinking about totally enclosing it and having the top back pexiglass so since i think to think totally through i was looking at ventliation for it since has been hot out latley ( i live in florida) and i am wondering what others with amp racks have used to. first i was thinking 12v fans but then i thought that i would need a exit hole for the air to move out. then i started looking at Liquid Cooling for computers since computers are 12v. and that is all i could think of.
