US AMPS

Well i dont know how but i found flakko and then i found this site and here I am. I've never owned a us amps but have dreamed of it back in the days of highschool and college...LOL! I currently have kicker sx line of amps but am trying to unload them right now. So anyways just thought i'd chime in and say hello.

Ok, I just got a long e-mail from the guy I bought my USA-600x from. He asked what my system was like, so I told him, and he claims I have way too much power! He quarentee's me that the USA-300x I plan to put on my sub will blow the sub for sure, and that the 600x will murder my CDT ES520 set! This is his quote... "You should get a 200X new style 7" chassis to drive your 520 europoops, a 400X to drive 4 of your 8's and a 600X to drive 2 of your 12" woofarts" "I had guys ask me how come a 200 watts US Amps keeps blowing 1000 watts woofers. Hi all, I am still waiting for my US Amps to arive, and in the mean time I am ordering new wire and other things I will need for my new install. I have 0 Awg comming from the Battery back to the trunk. I will be running a USA-300x, USA-400x, USA-600x and a USA-50. Should I run 4 or 8 awg wire to those amps Power and ground? Also should I run one large fuse, or get a distribution block with seperate fuses to control each individual amp? Just wondering what wire and hardware I should use to insure a strong safe system.

I plan on purchasing this amp very soon to run my planned active front stage setup and I would like to know how much power this amp puts out at 8 ohm and 6 ohm. I also want to know just to be sure would I be fine running 2 channels at 8 ohms and 2 channels at 6 ohms with it. Thnx in advance to any and all that can help me out.

I bought a DE-1000 (notice: not 1000-DE) to power a TC Sounds 10" OEM. I was under the impression that the amp put out 1000 watts at 2ohms, cause that's what the US Amps site lists it at. However, I spoke with Greg at US Amps a few minutes ago and he claimed that it did 700x1@2ohms 1000x1@1ohm. He did not state that the US Amps site was wrong, but just said that's what it did. The US Amps site lists the DE-1000 stable down to 1.5 ohms. It rates it for 1000x1@2ohms. According to Amp Guts, the 1000-DE is rated at 700x1@2 ohms, and 1000x1@1 ohm. So what does it really put out? Was Greg simply confused between the two? (I did call back and ask him about the 1000-DE vs. the D…

I still can't believe how big this amp is for a front stage amp. Wow What a beast and I love the plexiglass bottom. I was thinking of going one for the amp and this saved me some time and money. Shes going to power a pair of Seas Excel W18NXs and Seas Prestige 27TBFC/Gs. They are in the mail and should be here monday or tuesday. . Thnx again Denim and Flakko for making a happy customer.

I might be getting a us amps, merlin m2.d2 for my fi Q, just wondering how low of an impedance it can handle. Seeing if i can get 2000+ watts out of it @ 14.4v.

Was wondering could this amp handle the load? It is a current MD2D by the way with the plexi bottom and stuff.

I'm currently running a rockford fosgate amp to a single sealed rli-8 s4 directly coupled to my cabin (via the ski pass hole). The SQ is great, but at higher volumes I think the amp is not so clean. I've got a 1 farad cap and battery is in the trunk, and my radar detector displays system voltage and it's very stable. I was thinking of replacing this amp with a XT 800.2. Anyone have the specs for the USA-150 with the long fins on the side? Also Id like to know which input to use when I bridge the amp. I replaced a PG xs2500. I had been running the 2500 with a dcon10d4 at 8 ohms so like 250 watts and I switched over to the 150 and ran the amp at 2ohms. The xs2500 kicks the crap out of the sub. It seems like i have to run the 150 almost to clipping to get it to push a 300 watt rms sub.

I just got a US Amps USA-442 and I was wondering what kind of info can you guys give me on it, power that I should expect, how good is the amp, you know things like. Help me feel good about my purchase . Also, I understand that it has a very complicated built in crossover, can someone help me out with this also? Thanks
