Got some factory pictures just now -- it's shipping to us soon. Assuming all goes well we'll start production of this and the 2500D v.2 very soon! * I had mentioned we were working on double inputs but it wasn't going to work out with the narrow casing. Outside of dedicated SPL the difference is not significant, though. * We got the production RCAs on this prototype. * BEEF

Just got these in... designed them based on many requests for a really good sealed box 8" woofer. Power rating is pending testing but mechanically I designed them around 300 watts or so (half the spiders of the SA-8 v.2) -- we'll do our thermal cycle to determine the official rating. As is typical with our products the rating giving will be a "worst case" rating and many people will have no problem running a bit extra. We built upon our newly tooled platform from the SA-8 v.2 so it shares many of the advantages of that platform from the get-go. These feature an under-hung coil with predicted linear x-max of ~14.5mm one-way by 70% BL method using an 8-layer copper 2" coil …

To ensure that contact is organized and prompt please read the following. DO NOT post on Facebook or the Forums to request order status, warranty information, or pricing. It is VERY difficult to know who you are or what you ordered this way. Forums and Facebook are designed to share new product information, customer installs, updates, etc and are not optimal for the aforementioned things. MAKE SURE you provide your REAL NAME somewhere on the e-mail -- if you are asking about an order make sure to tell us the name and e-mail on the Paypal payment as they very often do not match. All, I am looking into running 2) SA-12s in my 2012 Volkswagen Jetta GLI. I do not want to loose my entire trunk with a large ported enclosure and also, I prefer the sound of sealed enclosures. I am not a SQ freak but I like the tight bass, with some boom if I crank it up. I am limited to 1000-1200W RMS. They will be getting 600W each @ 2 Ohms. My question is this - the Sundown website recommends 1.0 ft^3. I listen to mostly rap, R&B, electronic, with some metal mixed in there. 1) Should I be going slightly larger than recommended to retain my lows (e.g. 1.25 ft^3)? 2) I can't find much info on the SA-12s in sealed enclosures. Anybody running these sealed? How…

Hey everyone, bought my zv3 months ago and finally got around to installing it. I had an old sealed box that I threw it in, it's on the large side at about 3.7 cubic feet amp is an saz1500v1. Problem is that when I turn it up to really get the sub moving I get loud sharp cracking noises and an occasional pop! It sounds really good at lower volume but cranked up it starts to go crazy. Any ideas? My gain is at about half bass boost at 0 it sounds like it bottoms out but I couldn't even get my type rs to do that off this amp??

Quick question. I know the recommended is 1 cube, but what is the smallest size box you can use for an SA-12 with 1-1.2k watts rms? Thanks!

Sundown E-10/12/15 and SA-10 D4 Back In Stock Just finished unloading and sorting the container. So they are ready for order once again. Re-cone parts for the E series also arrived so I will work up pricing for kits soon. I have heard very minimal need for the parts but I'm sure they are a small handful out there somewhere.

I have always been a bit SQ fan. Clean and clear sound is what brought me into car audio but I had to make a detour towards output for most of our company history so far in order to meet my customer demands. Of course... that has not stopped me from implementing features for lower distortion in many of our models But now I feel it is time to really gear a product DIRECTLY towards SQ. I've started development on what I consider a true Reference grade component set... one with objective distortion levels up there with the BEST products on the market at any price level. This complete set will be priced under $1,000 from an authorized dealer; how much under that I do not kno…

I did some early prototyping around this time last year on some mid-level sets and they were quite good, IMO... I decided to re-evaluate them a bit based on the listening I've had with them since that time. I received the first early prototype of the new mid-level set a few days ago and I will be replacing the 2011 prototypes in my car with these soon. The biggest change is the cone material... for a set like this that crosses over higher I prefer a paper base vs. the composite base (woven material) that the other set utilized. The set is NOT done as I plan to modify the frame on the mid as well as the motor ventilation. There will be no fancy eye-candy to the set -- very…

We should have it in a week or so to test ourselves; factory testing has went very well and it is meeting all of our design goals. Length without feet = 18.89" With the feet total length is roughly on par with the original version (20.15") -- then the case is of course narrower. So overall foot-print is down. Will get some side to side pics when the prototype gets here.

Production started this week. Typical lead-time is 90 days but I will say to be safe expect them at the end of August. I am going to go ahead and open up ordering since I know many of you have waited anxiously for the 2012 models to start rolling out. As with any pre-order delivery times are an ETA (estimated time of arrival) and are not a guarantee of the delivery date. I do feel pretty solid on this one as the new amp factory is working pretty quickly for us so far on the NS-1 models, though. SAZ-1500D v.3 : Pre-Order Price : $445.00 Regular Price : $525.00 SAX-125.4 : Pre-Order Price : $425.00 Regular Price : $500.00 Pricing is shipped in continental 48 states. Contact…

I have two to build so far -- IIRC this one was a drill slip into the surround. In any event -- just finished the first one and it looks neat so I took a few photos : * This is where it really varies from our other kits. The spider spacer along with dual triple joint rings. You cannot see the 2nd triple joint ring but it is in between the spider layers. It did take a good bit of time to assemble; which is why these kits are "expensive" compared to our other SA kits.

Before I recommend this build to someone, I want to be sure it would sound ok. I have an associate that has a late 70s Vette. Baddass little car. The previous owner installed a flip screen Pioneer deck, and updated the speakers. He says it sounds ok, and gets loud but lacks the lower end like most installs that don't include subwoofers. What he wants is just to include the low end that the upgraded speakers lack, while retaining as much room as possible due to the tiny cabin this car has. My initial recommendation would be to go with the Sundown E10D4 in a sealed enclosure being powered by the Alpine MRP-M500. My enclosure would be a simple cube with internal volume measu…

Here it is! Super small little amp Without mounting feet included the new amps are sized as follows : SAZ-1500D: 8.30” x 2.32” x 16.53” SAX-125.4: 8.30” x 2.32” x 11.02” Factory tested power as follows @ 1 % : 138x4 at 4 203x4 at 2 438x2 at 4 I'll be pretty busy for at least a few days but I will get my testing as soon as possible. On to the photos with the 1500D v.3 and the 100.4D revision : * Hard to tell but there are small holes in the board on the right for the fan on the opposite side of the board to breathe. * 1500D v.3 and the 125.4 together * WOW * 99% of the crossovers... only lacking the 12/24dB slop switch. Fixed at 24 dB now.

Got it in today. I will be doing some testing over the next few days -- here is a comparison to the 1500D v.2 model -- the new v.3 is longer to fit all of the new parts and the fan but is narrower. The newer 2500D v.2 and 3500D v.2 will actually shrink in width AND length compared to the old units for reference. * The fan blows through the board to expel air out the sides of the amp. Will do a heck of a job in terms of cooling

I am in need of a 8" sub that works well in a very small, sealed enclosure. I came across the E8v2 Sundown sub, and it looks promising. I wanted to get some insight/experience from people in the know. Space is at a premium in my vehicle. I have around .3 to .35 ft3 to work with. I would like for it to have good SQ with good output (I am aware that it's an 8", but I have heard some 8s with decent output in a sealed enclosure, so I know what to expect). I have not purchased an amp yet, but I plan to run 300-400 RMS to the sub. This will be going in an mid-sized suv. I plan to build a center console type enclosure that will fit in the second row. So, having said all this, do…

Z v.3 Line SOLD OUT We have more motors due end of May to first of June. Demand for these has really been incredible... by far our best selling large subwoofer in company history. I have several production runs of motors in place to attempt to keep up with demand so hopefully we don't run out again for some time.

Hello, can i get opinion if this set up will work. I'll be running pair of the E-12D4 at 1ohm on BRZ 1700.1D. I know the BRZ will not output 1700 @ 1ohm probably close to 1300@1ohm. I am also trying to find how big of a magnet these E series 12" subs are. Thank you for posting
