Hey Sundown why is there no enclosure recommendations on the Zv2 on the subwoofer page also for the Nightshade too? I see recommendations for the SA series and other series.

  5. Aight I'm planning on buying 1 of 4 custom nightshade 10s that jacob custom made with the blue basket. I wanted to know if this sub would be suitable in a 4th order bandpass enclosure. Also would like to know what's the best frequency to tune the enclosure for daily driver ( I like hip hop music and love the lows lol). I would be using a digital design m1b amplifier to run the sub. Ryan from ram designs will be designing my enclosure most likely but I wanted everyones input b4 I do so. T/S parameters: D2 1500w RMS RE: 3.55 ohms FS: 45.8 Hz Qes: 0.366 Qms: 6.44 Qts: 0.346 Le: 3.25 mH Vas: 5.97 L BL: 23.69 N/A Cms: 59.92 uM/N Mms: 200g

Well, my Nightshade bit the dust about a week or two ago, and I'm just now getting around to posting it. I'm not 100% positive about what happened but I want to run it past you guys first and see if I need a Recone or a new sub. I was pounding like I usually do on my way to work, and it was incredibly loud. As in louder than I've ever heard it before. Anyways, in my 15 minute commute to work, I had pulled up in the parking lot and just as I did, the sub stopped working. Wtf...? I wondered to myself and probably said aloud. I pulled into a parking space, and popped the hatch and there was smoke rolling out of the port. I quickly managed to lift my box and get the sub out.…

  7. Well wife got a newer car, 2005 Kia Spectra5 and of course I wanted to put a system in it. So since I couldn't find a buyer for my Alpine CDA-9835 that will be going in this week when the kit/harness arrive. I will be putting some Polk 6.5 coaxials in the doors for now, those are in her old car atm. Just this past weekend I worked a deal where I built a box for a single 12 and swapped that for a SA8 barely broken in. So today I decided to go ahead and build the box for the SA8. Also picked up a MTX4001 400W@2ohm mono amp for $60 from a friend of mine who owns a pawn shop in Merrit Island. Here's a few pics of the box; That's it for now, gotta pick up charcoal gray …

Alright jst wondering if anyone else exprience this. I have a sundown 100.4 and as soon as you put a fuse in it, it'll blow as I was driving I heard a loud screech guessing that's when it went out. Internals looks clean, all in/out put was d/c and still having this issue ground was checked. Have a 1500d and that amp is fine. Its probably internal just curious if its rare thing.

Hey guys, first post, but a long time follower of the forum. So here's my questions. I've got a 98 explorer with a 130amp alternator, yellow top optima 55AH, upgraded big 3 (i think, got a question about that too in this post) with all 4 gauge, 1.5 farad Rockford cap w/ digi display, one Saz 1500d, and one jl 13w7 in a ported box built to the jl specs, wired in parallel so it's at 0.75ohm load. Looking at the owners manual for the 1500d it says 1500@1ohm, 800@2ohm, etc., so what would it be pushing at 0.75ohms? I have a 100amp ANL fuse between the battery and the cap. The owner of a local car audio shop told me that my amp wasn't pushing more than 1000 watts if i wasn't …

  11. As much as I love the beast that is the 200.4 it's our lowest selling model. We are teaming up with WoofersEtc.com to get this closed out -- keep your eye on their site for them to be added at a special price. I am saving one for my personal car as it's an awesome amp -- so if you wanted one get in touch with WoofersEtc.com soon

  13. Just to fill you guys in... I've been working on a TON of things for Sundown for the future... hoping to see many of these things next year! I am going to discuss woofer related plans here... things I didn't really mention much in the "New Stuff Coming to Sundown" thread. ----- As you can see the E8 v.2 is available for pre-order now -- I am going to fill out the E line with 10s and 12s. Like the SA line the 8" motor is unique in the line... the 10s and 12s will have a larger motor, smaller than the SA series, though, but also with a 2.5" coil. The coil will be shorter and the depth of the 10" model will be around 4.25-4.5" or so for depth restricted applications. They wi…

Ok, I am on my way to selling things I have to get another SA12 and then change my amp to a SAZ1500D. I am working on a design for the 2 12s now, however I have never done this kind of design so I need someone to check it, and if I am wrong just let me know. Anyway the box is net of 4cuft after displacement, with a 18.5"x2"x24" port tuned at 29Hz. As I said I have never done this kind of design so I do need input, what I figured was the port needed to be with the sharing of 2 walls 24" long, so I designed a T shaped port, now the way I thought it through was because the port had two sections extending out that they should each be half the remaining length of port after th…

What do you guys think, power will be a crescendo bc3500d Too much power? Too big a box? Will be for daily pounding and competing

Hello everyone. Anyways my stupid question is does jacob send tracking info when shipping an item? If so I suppose my amp hasn't shipped yet. Just curious though. I searched for my old email from when I ordered my 1500d but didn't see it. Also since I made a thread I suppose I'll do a mini build of installing the amp (125.2) on my components. I know everyone likes pics One more thing. It appears the led on my remote gain on my saz-1500 died, is that common or what? Not too concerned since it's just an led but I'd thought i would ask. Going to test the led to confirm later. Anyways thanks everyone and keep up the good work Jacob!

well ive built many boxes for my ext cab s10 over the past 2 years, and ive never really been happy with it. Right now im running 3 sa12's on a saz 3500. my box currently is 5.26cubes @ 31hz with 81.25 in2 of port, with subs firing forward, port up drivers side. The box i tried before this was subs forward, 2 6" aeros firing up @ 36hz. I liked the box with the aeros but wouldn't play the lows i wanted it to (but found out later after 2nd box my ssf needed to be turned down, so im not truly sure if it would play the lows i wanted it to or not. So my question is, is there anyone with experience with trucks like these, and what should i do next? i would like to reuse my 6" a…

Just pre-ordered an SA-8 to play around with...can't wait to receive it! Gives me time to build the box. From what it looks like, something like a .75-1 cu. ft. ported around 34 or 35Hz should be a good starting point for good sound/efficiency right? Planning on running about 450-500 watts to it.

We've shown a few pictures of the new frame... this is the first peek at the newly tooled and designed spider. I designed this spider based on all the information gathered during testing of the v.1 model -- this is our own spider design / tool where the other two spider versions from the v.1 were simply the best readily available roll profiles. IMO... this roll is FAR superior and should show in testing -- which will likely be coming on Friday. One thing that should be noticed quickly is the massive reduction in mechanical noises from the new spider -- MUCH quieter all the way up until we run out of frame clearance; which I do in the video when you hear the tick sound. Th…

  22. My buddy just Bought a pair of nightshades and noticed the z series have the same wattage but are cheaper so obviously the nightshades are better but in what way? SpL? Are the z series more for SQ? what's the difference physically about them? For everyday pounding and not competition, what would you recommend? Thanks. Marcus G

Since we have been out so long I decided to open pre-ordering for the month of June -- they are due in July with the specific ETA still being up in the air. I will post when I get a better date within July. I will run this for the month of June and maybe a little bit into July depending on the specific date of arrival. This run features all the updates so far on the 8s AND the new style frame: This frame has superior clearances and is actually a bit easier to get in the hole with large speaker wires. A win-win all in all The magnet boot IS still included -- the frame pic is just a bit older. ----- PRICING : 1x SA-8 = $119 2x SA-8 = $109 each 4x or more SA-8 = $99 each …

Okay so my next system will be (2) 12" Z v3's and (2) SAZ-3500D's, I was curious if anyone knew the specs for a ported enclosure. I would run both amps at 1 ohm. I'm just curious as to how much more room is needed. I have (2) SA-12's in a 3.5 cu. ft box tuned to 30Hz. I would like to stay somewhere around there. I cannot find the thread that had the specs for the soon to be released Z v3's
