Ok, should have my tax check here next friday...woot woot. I will be ordering 2 12" SA's and was wondering if this box and amp will work. Was getting a design done for 3.5cuft @ 30hz and will be running a Rockford Fosgate T1000.1 (the new mini black one) The amp says 1250 @ 1ohm I might upgrade the amp later...but this is what I have now. I know I will be using 2 4" aero ports (not sure on lenth..the designer is still designing, lol) Just curious as to what to expect. I had 2 JL w3 12s on this amp at 2ohms (800 watts) with a 3.5cuft @ 32hz box. They were in my former Explorer. I now have a 08 Civic SI coupe....just trying to get some comparisons. Or just an idea of wh…

I wanted some bass in my truck and decided I was going to do a small setup for daily use. So I ordered a SubThump box, didn't want to deal with the angle of under the seat. That box will be filled with a Mach 5 Audio IXL 10". After ordering that I decided to see about possibly doing a ported setup for the hell of it. Basically means I lose a seat in my truck when running this setup. So I decided to have RAM_Design design a ported enclosure for the SA-12 I ordered. We decided on 1.85ft^3 tuned to 32Hz. The design and cutsheet from RAM made it extremely easy for us to build the box quickly without measuring 50 times to be certain. This is the first ported box I have…

You guys know I am always working to improve things! As good as the SA series is I sat down and though, "How can I make them better ?" A few things came to mind on the 10/12/15 design : 1) I tested a different rear pole flare shape that is a little more efficient so I will be implementing that. As if the SA needed more thermal capacity, right ? 2) I am going to add a magnet ID shorting ring -- almost nothing in this price range has a shorting ring (the Type-R is one of the few I can think of). This will reduce inductive distortion and produce a bit less reactive impedance rise. So these are some things I'll be working on introducing to the SA series around summer time. …

March 2011 issue, P54,55 There is a 2nd Gen S10, that has a 15" FI BL powered by a Sundown SAZ-1200 and a 125.2 for the mid/tweets.... Might be a repost, but I think its great to to see some of the cooler brands like this finally getting some play in the Magazines, not just companies that buy full page adds in every magazine they see on the stands.....

Hey everybody, I just purchased a USED SAZ 1k on here. And once i installed it i realized that the blue l.e.d on the amp was not on. I checked the voltage and it was reading over 14v. Checked the grounds, power and it was all fine. I even swapped out the amp with TWO other amps and the others worked fine. (nothing was changed). The amps used were a Sundown 100.2, and Alpine MRP M1000. Now after trying one more time i was messing with the remote wire and saw that the PROTECTION l.e.d would light up from time to time. So i am guessing that the power l.e.d. is just out which is no big deal, I cannot confirm this because I dont have a working woofer sitting around i …

Made for local customer -- thought it would be fun to use the Z v.3 spider on the NS v.2 -- we have about 44.5mm of motor clearance and this spider will allow you to reach it. Pretty impressive to see free air I also am experimenting with a former cap as he is running high power. The cap will enhance the effectiveness of our coil cooling setup. Once I get the dust cap glued I'll run specs -- it is still pretty fresh but I gave it a nice run free air before gluing on the former cap.

Been working on these for a while but haven't said much... but Andy @ Vex has posted some videos so figured I'll open it up now -- some photos : I have requested spring loaded terminals for production since I hate spades... also will have our logo on them. They are all single 8-ohm so more can be wired to one amp -- the 200.4 can power 32 of them Flat, tied down tinsel leads as I could still hear lead-slap on mid-bass heavy material on our first sample... good quality paper cone... vented neo motor for high power handling. What is different ? Well... we made a real CAR speaker here. They will have great mid-bass in IB or sealed -- this sacrificed some of the sensit…

Okay since I'm so close to putting my new system together for the 2011 MWSPL season I have this question. My electrical will consist of a 180 amp DC Power Alternator, a CarQuest NGT Extreme 100 Ah AGM battery under the hood and a Deka 9A31 in the trunk, will this be enough to power a SAZ-3500D? I've heard yes and no. Of course I know to watch my voltage but I've had a few people tell me to get at least 2 batts for the trunk (if I had the space) it's going in the back of a 01 Camry.

OKay here is what is up! I just installed my 2-12inch NS v1, and powering them is 2-saz2500 all wired to 2ohms! (subs wire to 4ohms and then wired in parallel to each other to drop the load to 2ohms) now with my last setup it was a single 15inch NS v1 d1 wired in parellel to get a 2ohm load! this isn't the last box but close enough to what it all looked like. now back ground, with the single 15inch first I set it via dmm, then used and oscope to set my gains and then clamped it and realized that i was making about 2400rms on a 6~ohm load on a burp. which was good enough to get me a 145.5 db on burp out of the old setup. now here is the issue with the 2-12s installed a…

Just a general question about wiring the amp. For the terminals for the ground and positive how did you guys affix the wire into the terminal. Did you guys solder the tip of the wire and then screw it down or did you just insert the bare wire and then screw it down? Thanks guys.

  20. So i figure what the hell might as well post this up, this was at Midwest SPL Finals (so its legit, best ive done is a 150.5 with these, just not at an event, and it was much colder of a day when i did that compared to this). this metering style is on the glass (like db drag) but with windows and doors able to be open during the run. and yes, i lost to an AQ HDC3, but thats not the point of this LOL system is in a 1997 chevy cavalier, box is around 5 cubes with a 6" aero, burps at 42 hz, enjoy the vid (best if watched in hd)

  23. So... ill be buying an amp tomorrow... and I found a used saz2000d for $400 shipped. Heard absolutely nothing but good about Sundown. I also found a new Soundstream DTR1.2200d for $260 shipped. (Woofersetc dot com) I've searched and haven't found any complaints on them. I was just wondering what us the upside of buying the sundown for about $140 more with 200 less watts. Or the the downside of buying the Soundstream. This will be powering a XCON 18" D2.
