Sundown Audio

These are the results we got from my testing today at Modified Nationals in the UK - the first 2010 db drag event in the UK. Single SAZ-4500d amp 0.35 DCR. All results true RMS. Deck Volume started 12 - went to 41 of 47 - still clean sine at this point. 77.9 AC Volts 57.2 AC Amps 13.2 battery volts before starting 11.50min voltage over burp. 77.9 * 57.2 = 4455 watts RMS @ 1.36 ohms impedance. Subs were 2 x DC Audio 4XL SPL Motor 18's D1.4 coils all in parrallel. 158.3 db achived at 66hz!!! Well impressed with the amps - need to try some D1.0 recones now to see what difference we get loading the amp down more.

So heres what is on my mind. First off i am wondering how to wire a subwoofer down to a one ohm load due to there being two sets of speaker terminals. Maybe a noob question but i cant figure it out. Second and this mite be harder to answer. Will this amplifier overpower a Fi BL15 with with the hyper pole upgrade or would it be able to take the juice without messing anything up? Any elightenment would be appreciated.

jacob please help me with this wiring issue im having. i have 3 ascendant audio mids in each front door and 1 in each rear. theyre all 4ohms. my question is can i run all 3 off the front set of channels safely(or should i say am i gonna kill it if i do) . the rear would be on the other channels. basically i wanna do it this way so i can control balancing the sound. then i have a 50.4 to run the 8 tweeters- 2 in the dash 1 in each front door and 1 in each rear door. the xo will be 80hz-about 2450 @12db/oct on the 100.4 and the tweeters will be xo at 2500@18db/oct on the 50.4. the tweeters will be mounted just in front of the door handles on all 4 doors. here are a few pics…

Ok, I have a SAZ-3000D that i will be using on 3 dual 2 ohm aa havocs in a 6.2 cube enclosure tuned to 32hz. My question is, will this amp be enough power to push them to their potential? I have the big three done in 1/0, dual runs to the rear, 3x yellowtops in rear, redtop up front and mechman 270A alt. What kind of power can i expect from this setup out of this amp? I been thinking of upgrading to a saz-3500d, but is the trade off worth it? If i will only be gaining 200-300 wrms then ill just keep the 3000d. Feel free to chime in and give your feedback on this. got it back today hooked it up to my RF power hx2 15 and all i can say is DAMN!!!! much better then the 250wrms i did have lol. i gotta do some tweaks to my box and it will be even better im tuned at 40 hz and im regretting it now shoulda stayed tuned at 30hz...... pics and vids coming later today

so, my luck follows through. This small tear not even all the way through on my surround foam got worse. This is by the way a 12 in sundown nightshade. The surround foam is positivly going to need replaced. My question is..Am I going to need a complete recone or can I just get the foam replaced. thanks Jordan

Any update on the shipment of SA-12s that were coming in???? Im really trying to get some new subwoofers soon and Ive had my eye on these as well as some fusion jonah lamu subs and am close on pulling the trigger....people say I should not get the fusions as they are almost 5 year old subwoofers and it would be better to get something completely brand new....If the SA-12s are any closer to going up for sale again then I will def hold off on purchase...

I have 2 SA-12's in this box and am curious if I could use it for the Z-12's? It's 3.5 cubes tuned to 30Hz.

Ok I've been having trouble with my amp shutting off and on when I would have a song with deep bass or I would turn my bass remote up with a song with less bass. I knew it was an electrical issue with my battery so I got it recharged when the system wouldn't come on (This was after about 8 months of play). My system played fine no problem after the battery was charged. So I got in the next day and b4 i could turn my radio up (The radio was only at 6 at the time) the bass came on and then it cut off and never came on. So I checked the amp to see if the red protection light was on. It wasn't only the green light was on. So I figured it was the battery again but I question t…

so my 2-SAZ2000's will be hidden under my sub box as soon in this pic here: . so as you can see i will have no access to my gains to fine adjust them! so then i thought well if i max them out AND plug in the remote gain knob and follow my ears for clipping and bottoming out and such, all the while using the gain knob now will this work? did i over or under think this? did i miss something? like is it bad to turn up the gains all the way then use the remote to turn them down(control them) i assume what i want to do will work but i just wnat to double check b/c once everything is in lol i don't want to take it out just move the gains an 1/8 of an inch down or up if you k…

I'm planning on running a pair of 100.4s to power my three-way front stage, one for tweeters and midrange, and one bridged for midbass duties. The drivers I've selected are all 8ohm. What kind of power should I expect from them running at 8ohm in this configuration?

I am getting ready to build a system for a chrysler 300c and was wondering what you guys think would be louder in this application. 3 sa 12s sealed firing in the cabin or 2 sa 12 ported. I am planning on running a z 2500on the subs.

received a replacement 1200d over a month ago.its been installed about a month.i set the gains with dmm and never play my system hard usually only play to and from work.turned it on this morning,and no sound.so,i got out the car to check my amp,and noticed the power and protect lights are both on.haven't done much testing yet besides disconnecting the rca's and sub wires to find both lights still on....any suggestions as to where i should try troubleshooting this problems?thanks in advance

how safe would it be to run 2 15" nightshades off a saz4500?

I've seen a lot of the testings use 1/2 ohm loads on these amps. Is it practical and safe to run 1/2ohm on a regular setup? I want to add a second sub to my setup and my current sub is 2ohm dvc. Adding another one of those puts me at 2 ohms or .5 and Id rather go .5 if I can. My other choice is buying two new subs instead of one and that is a lot more money. Appreciate any input here

Trying to see if I can get a response from Jacob from Sundown on here about sending my amp in for repair. i believe its pretty much screwed due to low voltage. It was ran off stock alt and stock batt with 1/0 ga ran and 1/3 big three done. i'm hoping to send it in and put a optima or kinetik up front and do the big three. but i cant get a response from jacob ive emailed a few times over the last two days to no avail but I know hes busy. Does anyone know if they will begin making these again? I would love one for my 2 15" Fi SSD's but I'm only buying the amp new and it's discontinued.

Looking through the owner's anual for my 125.2 and see they have a diagram for 3 channel tri-mode. Anyone using it? How much could I expect going to each speaker? I plan on a another amp for the mids and highs, but I was just wondering.
