Sundown Audio

has anyone ever heard just one of these subs in a 350z. i'm thinking about running one off a jl audio 300/2 amp at 2 ohm in my 08 350z.

so i ended up getting back the first pair of sundown subs i ever owned, my first team subs.... they are a pair of nightshade V1 first run OG chrome spoke 15s .... now one has a fresh recone.. and one needs to be reconed.. they have just been sitting here collecting dust.. and i keep telling my self im gonna recone the bad one.. then ill sell them as a pair.. maybe..... i think im personally attached to them .. and thats my hold up.. i have a guy that asked me about buying 1... and seems how i need to buy a new deck.. i said fuck it.. ok .. ill sell the good one... for 300 ..... hes offering 250 i know these are pretty rare subs now.. and im asking yal…

Anyone know where to find mounting depth and cut out for these subs? I'm wanting to install single x-12 in trunk of 09 mustang. I'm sure there are plenty of others looking for this as well.

Our phone system is DOWN today completely while AT&T moves our number to the new facility. I got a pair of these and have a question about a box. I really want a ported box, but don't have the room. They are going in a 350Z and i still need trunk space. what do you think about a sealed box? What size would be ideal? Hi all, I have a JBL GTO 1201.1 ii amplifier, I used to own two RE Audio SEX 12" subwoofers but the cheap tinsel leads snapped; I had heard nothing but great things about sundown so I opted for the X-15! I wanted to know if anyone has used the JBL GTO 1201.1 before, and if you think it would sufficiently power the X15. I know the X15 asks for 1200w rms, the JBL only pushes ~1100w rms if I recall correctly. Is this a problem? Another question, I had the two RE's in an L-Port 4.0cu @ 32hz- given the power of my amplifier do you think the single X15 in the correct enclosure will be just as loud? Thanks in advance!

I've mainly been updating on Facebook but we have been heavily involved in moving our location about 20 minutes down the road to Claremont, NC to a much larger facility for most of July. We now have functional shipping, testing, and build room areas at the new location plus a few office guys have transferred over as well. It has been a bit of a long process but it's coming along nicely. I have not yet moved my office or Debbie and the accounting / invoicing systems so it's been a bit inefficient as the data has to be transferred to the new location to ship (aside from Yard Sale) -- but the goal is to move all this by Monday and have everyone working in the same location…

hi i was looking at buying me a single 10 inch sundown audio sa sub and was wondering would the jl audio 300/2 amp be enough to power the sub without under powering it ?

I have a box on the way from Dave The Box Guy with interchangeable ports and what not and would like to use it for a long time without modifying the sub cut out holes. It is going to be for 2 SA-12s that I have laying around. I was just curoius to see what the cut out diameters were for the Zv4 or X series because I will eventually upgrade to one of them. well i have a long story here... i sold my sa8v2s and shipped them to the buyer.. well he got them and tested them with a dmm and one subs coils read 1.6ohm each (d2 sub) and one sub read 3.0ohm each coil (d4 sub) i was supposed to get 2 d4 subs. so now, i have to give dude his money back, pay for return shipping ($110 both ways now) and as far as im concerned, both 8s are shot... i bought them brand new off ssa 2 months ago. some may ask.. why didnt you check em with a dmm when u got em? well the way i see it, i shouldnt have to being i bought them brand new..... also, when i took them out of my truck, my amp was in protection.. hopefully its not shot but it aint looking…

Little project I've been working on for a while... first prototype rolled out yesterday. It about 4 1/8" deep -- power handling and other specs will be announced once we finalize the coil (several variations will be tested). Every part was custom tooled; frame, diaphragm, dust cap, spider, surround, etc, etc. It also features an aluminum pole cap to lower distortion even further. Production on the X series is wrapping up; photos below! Production T/S spec will be coming in soon as well -- likely before the end of this week. Z v.4 production should complete fairly soon as well; we had some delay on the voice coils as the flat wire is imported from Denmark for those coils. Just got these in... designed them based on many requests for a really good sealed box 8" woofer. Power rating is pending testing but mechanically I designed them around 300 watts or so (half the spiders of the SA-8 v.2) -- we'll do our thermal cycle to determine the official rating. As is typical with our products the rating giving will be a "worst case" rating and many people will have no problem running a bit extra. We built upon our newly tooled platform from the SA-8 v.2 so it shares many of the advantages of that platform from the get-go.
