  5. First of all, please forgive my posting in this section, but I want to hear from Sundown guys why the product is better then the other two I am thinking of, instead of "it just is". A little on my background, I was pretty into car audio back around 1996-2001, but have been out of it since then. A LOT of things have changed since. I ran a Xtant X1001 and X604 in my last car for reference. In any case, I am looking to put together a pretty simple system now for personal use, no shows or competitions. The amps I am really considering are: Sundown SAZ1500D (used by Sundown guys, but with warranty) Hifonics Brutus BXI2608D Lanzar OptiDrive 2000D I will be running in a '0…

Hi everyone, I just picked up an E8 subwoofer and I want to build a ported box for it, just a basic rectangular design with a slot port. The specs call for a .60 ft^3 tuned to 30 Hz, but when I use my vent calculator, the port length is very long (100", using a port of 10.5" tall by 2" wide). My box can't be bigger than 30"W x 12"H x 12"D because of space limitations. Would I be able to make a good sounding box for the sub that won't exceed my max dimensions? Any suggestions? I was wondering what kind of specs (actual box size, net ft^3, tuning, etc.) are you single E8 users running? This will be my daily sub, so I'm looking for SQ, but still want it to wang for a si…

This is a simple little system but it sounds good. For those who haven't used a 100.2 yet, the power is incredible. This amp is way underrated and works great to drive subs. I am not into installing tv's all over the place but the owner of this truck had reason. His family takes road trips so the headrest monitors are for his two kids and the visor monitor was installed for his wife since the bypass for the Z1 was only good for 500 miles at the time. All factory speaker locations were retained and the headrests have covers so the truck looks stock from the outside with the exception of the Z1.

I stare at it for hours on end until my day will come to have this amp. I fantasize adding to the cart a few times a day lol but recently I notice it says basically out of stock. The year is quickly coming to an end and just want to know if there will be more to go around in the coming months? Again sorry if I missed my answer if its already up.

I got a Saz-1000 in the wife's car runinng a Nightshade 15" V1 @ .05 . She does really well in Streetspl 600-1200 watt class (141.7 center of dash on music). There are a few people running the Aq-1200 and they give her a hard time and we where wondering if it would be a worth the extra money to go to the Sax-1200. We want to keep her in that class so we can't go with anything bigger then 1200 watts. And being a Team Sundown Member I'm not willing to put any else in her car but Sundown. Has anyone clamped the power of the 1200? Is there a a head to head test of the two?

I got first place in my class at a small local show with 3 RE SX 15" tuned to the low 30's and two sundown 1500's. My score was 147.2 playing a test tone sweep since I dont know my peak freq. We didnt even know about the show, and was actually headed to my family reunion when I saw guys getting metered outside of a car audio shop. I could get better numbers with a box tuned higher, but my setup is for LSQ, and I really like the SQ of my current setup. with some tweeking, I believe I can get 150db with my box, but I still havent had a chance to tweek my system with a mic. The SAZ 1500 is a badass amp that allows for a lot of flexiblity with installation.... I cant wait t…

  18. So i figure what the hell might as well post this up, this was at Midwest SPL Finals (so its legit, best ive done is a 150.5 with these, just not at an event, and it was much colder of a day when i did that compared to this). this metering style is on the glass (like db drag) but with windows and doors able to be open during the run. and yes, i lost to an AQ HDC3, but thats not the point of this LOL system is in a 1997 chevy cavalier, box is around 5 cubes with a 6" aero, burps at 42 hz, enjoy the vid (best if watched in hd)

  19. This will be the official "Front Stage Inc" demo car...just waiting for my battery to come in. That HC2400 is too ginormous. I'm not sure if you can see this but the cover is kind of sitting on top of the amps. I'm waiting for some 1/8" lexan to put over the amps so I can use my trunk without messing up the amps.

Setup 1998 Ford Explorer. 4 DD9515 D2, 12 Kinetik 2400, 1 Kinetik 1800(front bat), Missing Link, DC Power Alt, Kenwood KDC-X8120. 23Cu.Ft. Enclosure tuned @ 39Hz. Right now on burps starts at .4 dcr rolling the volume at note it rises to 1.12Ohms @ 49Hz. 71.5 volts, 63.7 amps, drops to 13.2volts dc. If my calculations are correct that would be 4554.55 watts. Current score 157.6 @ 49Hz outlaw.

I started my stereo install without full plans. I had no idea what my substage would consist of. I had a JL amp already for my door speakers and thought id be going that route so i ran the JL bass knob wire through with the rest of my wiring. I then ended up learning of sundown and got the sax-1200 amp and the bass knob that comes with it. Do you know if i can just swap the wires or do i have to re run it? I really don't feel like pulling my carpet back out just to get that wire re-run if its not necessary. Also the JL wire didnt plug into the knob itself, there was a 6 inch line off the knob that it connected to. So i need to extend it, do i need a special wire and conne…

I also am working on a budget install in my daily driver to replace everything that has been removed and sold off. Im looking for a pair of clean sounding 6.5" componets w/ some nice out put for under 200 bucks shipped. Power will be coming from a 100.2 passive until the 50.4 comes out then they will be active.
