I occasionally build custom drivers on non-Sundown platforms by request -- few pictures to share These use the Z v.2 light weight 15" cone, Z v.2 production voice coils, Z v.2 production "2 spider" pack, an additional re-enforcement ring at the triple joint, stock T3 TSS frame and motor. With this cone the factory trim ring can also be used unlike the last TSS I built with the wide roll surround. * Top triple joint * Factory trim ring in place * Triple joint ring between cone and spiders. I havent seen these before, just ran into them on Youtube on Robins account the other night. Thought they were some pretty good flex vids. Ive been slackin, I got my 16v batts and alt in, now I just need to get it all in my car! Then Ill be loud. :fyi:

So I had my cracked nightshade 12 reconed by Jacob to a 15 and had him add the V2 coil along with a extra spider. Honestly all I can say is Damn I have owned A lot of subs in my life, but this is by far the loudest I have ever had the pleasure of listening to. The bass from this sub is violent. I know my blazer hates me everytime I start my truck. I am pround to tell people I have sundown in my truck, I also own a saz 3500. So if your thinkin of purchasing any sundown product don't think just buy it. Great products Jacob keep up the great work!!! Parts are all here... as we start making them we'll get more finalized specs on each size and coil configuration. * All of the cones together * 18" Cone * 15" Cone * 12" Cone (woops... got it dirty) * 10" Cone All cones have a stitched surround. ----- * Upper left (18" - 9 1/4") -- Upper right (15" - 8 3/8") -- Bottom (10/12" - 7") Z v.3 15s and 18s will run the long coils (60-65mm) -- we'll have shorter ones for the 10s and 12s (50mm) to keep mass balance in check (will risk some ticking with the longer coils). All of them are beefy 8-layer aluminum USA made voice coils on black aluminum formers. * 15 / 18" coil * 10 / 12" coil (NS v.1 equivalent coil)

when i put the subs in about two weeks ago the box slid back towards the trunk lid while being played and caused a crack in the surround on one of em. trying to avoid getting a recone b/c the sub plays fine, just thinking about the longevity aspect another question is that im thinking about getting another box made along the lines of 3.5-4 cubes @ the lowest possible tuning and still get loud. i was thinking 30 hz for these beasts.

does anyone know the mounting depth of this sub

im thinking of 1 ns12 in a extended cab truck or should i stick with my 2 db plw12d4's. the truck in qusetion is a mazda b2200.subs running off my saz-2000d.

well im bored and feel like writing a bit lol so i wanna say that this amp works great @ .35 ohms...im burping with it and it can take numerous burps without even getting hot, the volume doesnt have to be rolled cause it wont go to protection. I was doing 140-141 with it @ 1.4 ohms and when i lowered it to .35 my # goes up to 145-146. also the amp is pretty efficient @ .35, my volt goes down to 12.8 without recharging batts. also the amp can play music/bassrace fine with it...i bassraced a 139.6 with it(the damn bass ended 2 sec. before the run :S) , it also plays music fine, i played 3 full songs and THE amp took it like a champ...anyways im not telling everyone to go on…

I recently just purchased a sae-1200. I was wondering for future reference on a bigger subwoofer than I have. Would I be able to strap 2 of the sae-1200's without having to purchase a bigger amp? Thanks, Dover.

whats the smallest box a 15" nightshade can go in

I have had 2 songs make my amp go into protect mode. The amp is cool, Subs are cool, so its not thermal, Not a speaker short, so last would be over current. So would over current mean that the gain is to high for that song, its a high note that makes it do it. So the voltage is spiking to high for the amp? its a saz 2k. I just have to turn deck off, turn back on, and all good again. Does it at high volume/full tilt but only on a couple songs

ive got 4 12's that handle 1500 watts max a piece and a box being build to spec.i was wondering if a 1500d would b enough for as3 next year at competition.i am planning on getting a second one the year after and strapping them.im using 0 guage wire and a 100 amp fuse.ive got a factory alt. w a decka intimadator batt. under the hood.will that be enough power and can i run them at.50 oms.?im doing the 4 12's cause i just wanna upgrade amps and batts. the following year.please give me some feed back.i would greatly appreciate it..

I purchased a 1200D a while back, strapped it up worked great for a long while on the Xcon but as of recent it started cutting out. Power was still on, wasnt in protect ever. It would stay on the majority of the day and eventually at night it would work for 30 secs after i turned my car on then stop playing. Itd be fine for a few days, then happen again..but now it hasnt worked in a week. Any suggestions on what to look for? I switched the rca's and it didnt change anything. Any input would be great.

How reliable are the 3000d's @ 1/2 ohm daily on music?? my set-up will be for a daily driver and for bass race, thats why i ask..

Hey guys, just curious I'm reading on another forum that the sae and saz are comparable! Is this true and are only about 200 watts in diference can anyone elaborate? If so which is better for a single 12 to 15 inch woofer rated about 1-1.5k.

In addition to recieving my 1200d yesterday I also recieved one of the pairs of SD1v2's (10's) I bought on line. The boxes that they were shipped in were the original boxes from Sundown. When I got the boxes I kinda cringed because they were soft like pillows but not so fluffy.... (yes they were beat that bad...) well I opened up the boxes and the subs are fine! way to go Sundown for making such a strong little sub! I have seen subs bent and broken in boxes that looked better than these many times but these little guys did great! Now I am trying to figure out how to get 4 of these in my MINI with a 1200d!

So im on my way to building a new box, right now im using 2 6" aero ports, in a 5.5 cube box for 3 sa 12's. But i want to tune lower and cant with the aeros, so im going to have to go back to slot port. Now my question is what is the pros and cons of small vs big ports, i know people recommend 12-16 per cube, but thats pretty broad. So what would you gain or loose from having a port at 12 per cube, or 16 per cube?? or in the middle. Does the bass get sloppier with a bigger port? (this is all for music by the way)
