Hooked up my 100.4 today to SEA excel mids and morel supremo tweeters. Gain was set at half, headunit (pioneer 9800) volume was 42/60, and 12 db slope, and it blew them in one minute. Now the speakers are rated at 220 watts. It is a 6 ohm speaker but i was told it would run just as good with this amp and actually be easier on the amp. I checked the speakers after they blew with others and and i still got power from the amp. Any ideas?

So an interesting project came my way... a client asked me to try out some of the NeoPro speakers for Guitar purposes... which I have had a few folks try them for bass guitar and like them but not regular electric guitar. Client comes back to me stating the NeoPro drivers are entirely too clean and then lends me an old vintage speaker that he considers the "driver to have" for this application -- which is tube amplifier electric guitar. So I analyzed it a bit... and came up with this : * Ribbed, thin paper cone with very small dust cap * Actual paper surround - one piece with the cone * Low excursion spider with completely un-vented frame * Un-vented motor Many of the…

I was wondering if going from a Us xt2000 to the sundown 1200 would be worth the change. I found a sundown 1200 but would it be a big difference from the Us I already have installed. I want to upgrade to the Sundown 1500 but I am gonna hold off little longer on that. My sub is a Loaded Fi BL 15 in 4 cuft ported box tuned to 32hz. Thanks Mitchell Fuller

What kinda numbers do you think I can achieve with this setup? Car is an 06 Scion xB, currently I have stock battery up front, and a Kinetic 800 in back. Big 3 is done and dynamat everywhere so far but roof. Only cause I ran out of money. Box is 1.44 tuned to 38 hz sub up port to passenger side. Port is a single 4" aeroport. I made box so there is roughly 8 and a half inches to side of truck. 3/4" mdf except top plate top plate is two layers of 3/4. Box has lots of bracing. Just a note this is a version one of the nightshade. And is there anything I can try to gain a little bit more db's. Also, if it helps any head unit is a Pioneer Premier. Any help is greatly…

Well I was cruising ebay and found a 1500 and of course bought it without thinking twice! It is refurbished but still has the original warranty and with all the talk about how wonderful sundown is with customer service I would be a fool to pass this deal up! Pics will be coming! I have an 02 2 door blazer and I am still debating on what to run either one 15"Q, 18" Q ported or 2 12" Qs sealed.... My electrical should handle it just fine I have a redtop under the hood with 0 gauge going to a second yellowtop in the back.

I just recieved (1) 1500d v.1 and (1) 1500d v.2 last night. Looking at each of them they look exactly the same and I can not tell which is which. How can I tell? and can the two be strapped together? If not I still have another v.1 so no worries.

  13. So... ill be buying an amp tomorrow... and I found a used saz2000d for $400 shipped. Heard absolutely nothing but good about Sundown. I also found a new Soundstream DTR1.2200d for $260 shipped. (Woofersetc dot com) I've searched and haven't found any complaints on them. I was just wondering what us the upside of buying the sundown for about $140 more with 200 less watts. Or the the downside of buying the Soundstream. This will be powering a XCON 18" D2.

  15. Just got my first pictures of the first completed prototype of the new SAZ-1500D v.3 model... so the cat is out of the bag on this one! As the model that got us started it is only appropriate that it is the first model to be shown in the 2012 trim! Newly tooled 2012 casing -- you can still tell it IS a Sundown amp but it is a refresher and also narrower. The FETs are mounted at a 45 degree angle to shrink the width AND avoid spring clips (which I've never liked). So we are getting the best of both worlds on that. * Fully custom tooled boards for all of our new 2012 models complete with fans. More photos to come as I get the other models done! Yes... you do see 16 power s…

All online stores should be updated any time now -- all local dealers have been e-mailed new price sheets as well. If you are a dealer and haven't received it yet let us know as dealer costs are also revised for 2014! The "Team" woofer will likely receive a name change before launch; but we are still debating what it will be -- we concluded that "Team" is too confusing since other people will be able to buy it. Many products that did change changed very little except for big amps and the NeoPro line. I did some massive number crunching to make sure all pricing was on point and mathematically / economically sound for us, dealers, and distributors. Some additional fine tu…

I would like to know exactly what it takes on voltage wise and battery wise to run my 3000ds at .5ohm daily to my 2 15" BTL's. Or what would be the best way for me to go to get excellent power from them 3000's. Any input would be great, strapping or wiring to .5ohm since when you factor in imp rise and all that. Thanks everyone

put it in this morning... spent the rest of day driving around enjoying it... first, let me state the system, 1/0 knu-con, in engine and to the back 230a, alt 110a idle? yellow top up front, kinetik 2400hc back 300a circuit breaker front, and back. stinger volt meter. with gain @ 1/2 on the amp, no bass boost, 1/2, or less boost from the alpine deck, at volume 20, 35 is max... one song popped the breaker. voltage held good, well not at idle, but did drop just below 12 at times when pushing it hard. the orion 2500 put up 147.2 when it popped the breaker, put I was pushing it way harder. So, I hated the breakers then, and do now... what are you guess fusing these amps a…
