  5. Thought I would share the install my new friend John at Hand crafted Car Audio of Chandler AZ did for me a couple weeks ago. I met John through a Second Skin sales rep named Bob Morrow. Some of you guys already know of Bobs Tacoma which has been reviewed in this DIYMA thread: http://www.diymobileaudio.com/forum/member-product-reviews/60325-bob-morrows-h-t-tacoma.html So Bob introduced me to John, one of the customers he calls on. John is a true DIY guy turned professional. He works out of the garage in his home in east Chandler AZ and within the first minute of walking in, I knew I was in the right place. The tools he has and the cleanliness alone were enough to make mos…

  6. Did this one last week. It was actually quite a bit easier than I thought it was going to be, hardest part being prep for paint but the radio bolted right in and removing the circuit board from the factory deck allowed the climate control to work like normal without stashing the whole radio someplace. Here's the pics. The victim Here's the circuit board that needs to be removed. Just unplug the ribbon cable at the front, remove two screws and it lifts right off. I made a little ABS box to house the circuit board and cut out a hole for the Molex plugs to peek out, making the installation much easier. Here's the radio all bolted in place. Just getting an id…

First and foremost thanks a million to Nem who set me up with an awesome Zed Lev and answered all of my questions I had. I finally got a finished build that I'm pretty happy with. Maybe a few more things to do down the road but that's to be seen. Sorry for the large pictures. My work is pretty shoddy, especially with that ensolite foam but it works well.Everything sounds great, this is my first build that I dont have a massive amount of space to work with. All of this tucks away nicely behind the rear seat. Hey guys, well i bought my ute mid last year and have been pondering a full stereo setup for a while now. Being a single cab hilux i'm a bit tight on room for a sub since the passenger seat is fixed, and am not keen on the new slimline subs. So i finally got around to making a custom fibreglass box that sits behind the seats. At this stage the install is at about 80% completion, as my funds have dried up due to University. The gear im using is Headunit: JVC KW-AVX626 7" Touchscreen Splits: MB Quart RVF 216 (snagged a pair of originals before they changed to german maestro) Sub: Alpine 12" Type S Dual 4ohm voice coil (only full size 12 i could fit without using a slimline…

I know I have been wishy washy with EVERY idea I have came up with and I have asked you guys a million in a half different Q's but I have FINALLY come to a build decision after some recent news. I will be running/showing my car for a local company and helping them get their name out there. . I have done a few things since then and have even more things going on before March(start of all the florida shows). Below is a list of my build parts thanks to my local dealer.First of all, I AM walling my car off and each sub will have 5 cubes each after port and displacement. I didn't plan on walling it but after I got this offer I really couldn't say no! 4 15" Ascendant Audio Ha…

Today i cleaned out my trunk and started building the enclosure. I put together the bottom, back and two sides today. I sealed up all the sides with silicon, and im not going to touch the enclosure for about 4 days due to school. In this picture i have sealed up all the sides. In the background is my old sub box my fi bl. This pic shows my port and the enclosure half way done. BOy this is going to look good when i carpet it. I put the enclosure in my trunk before i sealed up the sides, and let me tell you it barely fit. It takes up the whole entire trunk. I sat in the box lol and i fit in it hahah. Well there are many more pics to come.
