I think its a Chevy... Anyway, Joel has done a fair bit of customizing on this unit and will continue to do so through this winter. As the first pic shows he has removed the door handles, replacing them with an electronic system that ties into his Viper car alarm. He also did some front and back end frame work. This picture does the truck paint job no justice whatsoever - you would have to see it live to appreciate it The next shot shows the interior with the back seat ripped out. He will also be ripping out his single 12" Diamond Audio sub, replacing it with two SPL-15's. The cap will also go, but the nice Audison 1kw amp stays to power the front stage The next s…

  3. Figured I would post this here too as I'm using a couple SSA vendor products. Bringing it back for the sealed guys. Might be a while to get this one finished up but hoping I can get it done in decent time. Going with 4 AA Havoc 15's in a sealed 10 cubic foot Fisher Customs box. Hopefully Chris or BJ can chime in with a sketchup of the box. Power will be from an American Bass 500.1 running at .5ohm. Electrical I am adding 3 powermaster d3100's, a second positive run of 1/0 and two negative 1/0 runs. Already have one run of positive, a yellowtop, and a 200amp meangreen alt installed. Frontstage (already installed) is some boston pro's on a kicker zx550.2 in sealed/damped/o…

My current setup is ok, but I think it is time to take things to the next level. My current project is upgrading to an active front stage. Later I hope to add another 12" GCON or maybe upgrade to a 15" XCON. Anyway, I got my HU and I am waiting for my seas 7" woofers to arrive. As soon as I get paid I will be ordering the tweets. Then the fun begins! I installed the 80prs and ditched the passives on my entry level BA comps. After an hour or so of tweaking The sound is WAY better! I am not going to spend too much time dialing them in since I will be replacing them soon, but I want to get used to the control of active tuning...I love it! Here are a few pics. I measured …

  5. Started by Miles,

Well this is the first transmission line box i've ever built.. I read the tutorial yesterday on how to build one and didn't think it was that hard, so i built this one this morning in my spare time. Took about 2 hours to cut and assemble the box.. After getting it done i put it in a chevy s-10 blazer, with some kind of off brand amp pushing only about 300-400 (sad but that's all he had. Haha..). And with that little power running to it, everything flexes in his truck, and it's loud from 25hz all the way up to 60hz.. I'm very impressed with t-line boxes, and i find them easier to build than just regular ported box.. Haha.. Specs: Fs of a D1 Fi Bl is 35.2 Box "port" is exac…

Hey guys manzkea back at it again! Lol. Finally got some equipment in. Excited to finally get this project I’ve had in mind for a while rolling . Gonna attempt a blow through in my single cab 2001 ford ranger long bed. Gonna make pods for the doors to house the 6.5s and replace the stock one with a 6.5 or if possible an 8” driver. All powered off the ssa ic150.4. As for subs I’ll be using a 15” sp4 v2 I got from a friend for a deal. A taramps 5k will be used to push it. Unfortunately the evil mids I wanted was unavailable in 4ohms. So I went with these prvs. Well I’ll I’ll be updating this as I get it going. Possibly next week or so, really busy with wor…

  16. This is my new baby. I've only had it for about a month now. Its a 1974 Dodge Charger. My problem. It only has an AM radio. That a previous owner rudely cut the wires extremely short on. So I've set out to build my own small enclosure to put in an After market DIN receiver under my dash. Not wanting to harm the original hardware any of course. Many more pictures to come. Of all parts of install. Any of your guys' thoughts or opinions would be greatly appreciated!! thanks!!

I had wenn_du_weinst design this for me. Its tuned to 35hz, I can't remember if he told me the airspace. Day one looked like this. Knocked a little piece out.. Lookin down the port. Bottom of the box.. Day two I glued the second baffle on, and cut out the sub holes. This is the second time I've used a jig saw, first time was yesterday when I cut out a mount for y CB out of some left over mdf. I think the holes turned out okay? Its all glued inside on the seams. A few months ago I deadened the floor pan and the rear wall with a roll of RAAMmat and it cleaned up the sound tremendously. I have a Massive Audio CW12 downfiring out of a JL Audio Stealthbox disguised as the middle seat. Then I decided that new speakers were in order because the JL Audio TR series were not doing a good enough job. I did some research and decided on Focal Polyglass speakers and the new Focal Solid 2 channel amplifier. Considering the 6.5 inch woofer and the 4 inch mid wouldn't fit in the stock 6x9 hole I had to make baffles and glass them into the doors. Right now its just a temporary solution until I figure out a better way to do it. This is not show qu…

The enclosure is i believe 3.3 cubic feet sealed with gorrilla glue. Amp is an eclipse 500w rms monoblock. here is the pictures of how it went. If you wouldnt mind giving me some advice i am slightly confused and worried, because the amp is 500w rms but with sub level at 0 and the amps bass boost around 1-2 decibals i can barely hear the dcon. i have the bass boost on the amp turned all the way up at 8db and it has awesome sq bass at all levels but i cant get slamming bass unless i crank the sub control on my deck. i…

I just purchased a 15" sp4 d1 with all the bells and whistles. Now i have read that it is best in a 4th order enclosure. In the Fi specs it states its 3-5 cubes in 4th order enclosure. Now my question is then since im a newbie at 4th order. Is this correct: ported side 5 cubes so sealed side has to be half that so 2.5/2.71(counting woofer displacement) or should the motor be in the ported side? and what do i have to tune the ported side to? what is the best tuning for this sub? This is going in a 2012 chrysler 300. I will be running a kicker zx2500.1 at 2 ohms (that should be enough power right?) . My buddy said 65 herts so is that correct? I listen to alot of dubstep and…
