I just picked up a 2003 Lincoln Town Car two days ago. Yesterday I put the head unit and active crossover in, today I should be running the camera wire and sub rca's to the trunk. I'll update with some pics later. I planned and purchased everything for an install in my 96 Eldorado, but it never happened. Now the Eldorado is the wife's car and the system will be going in the Town Car. I have a Ported box for 2 SA10's that I'll throw in for now, but I'd like to fit something up on the hump under the rear deck and do a false floor in the deep well in the middle of the trunk for my extra battery and amps. I'm really debating swapping out the 2 sa10's for 3 or 4 8's in a porte…

finally done with my exams and i can start work on the car. objectives : a "budget" active system as stealthy as possible nothing much at first. progress is very slow because of some family "issues" keeping me away... first up, mounting the head unit (alpine 9813 i found locally) : dash ripped apart, so i can fabricate some brackets to hold the hu in place head unit running the stock speakers...just a quick test before the end of the day

Most likely a Buick Rendezevous... like last year, I'll set out tomorrow and may have one by the end of the day... but last time I ended up with an Aztek... we will see how it goes this time. I currently have 4 Adire Audio Extremis 6.4's, 2 CSS FR125S's, and 2 Vifa XT25TG30 ring radiators. I have a Kicker KX850.4 with a bad crossover on 1 channel for the 6.4's, a KX350.4 to be bridged 8ohm on the 4" full rangers, and a KX200.2 thats blown for the tweets. I can send the amps in to Kicker for repair, but I might just buy all new ZX series..IDK yet. I'll be getting some SHURiKEN SK-BT80 batteries from SicAudio, a HO alt, and proably some audiopipe ap3000d's... Alpine W200 w/…

Okay, we were finally able to get the vehicle that will be replacing the van as our daily driver. I found a nice 2010 Traverse AWD with everything the wife wanted in it and a little more with decent miles on it and I even got a decent deal on it. Now, the wife realized before we even got serious about shopping for one that we should probably tone down the size of the install in the new vehicle. While she was/is still wanting some good sounding speakers and some bump going to the the size and extent of the build in the van was more than we need for this one. One of the biggest reasons for that was simply because of the damage the Q's caused the van. Before I installed…

Its come time to upgrade and really get serious. Ive made a long of progression to this point but its time to go big once and for all. This will be a slower build as money is an issue till tax time. Ive already got my box design from RAM which was an awesome guy to deal with and a quick turn around in all manners. I will also be making door pods for multiple sets of components our a 3 way setup. Current equipment that will get carried over to the new build. 2 - Sundown SAZ-3000D Sundown SAX-50.4 Sundown SAX-100.2 DC power XP250 4 - Lifeline AGMs 50ah 75ft 1/0 Equipment still needed. 12 - SA-12s Copper buss bars 3 or 4 100ah+ agms (to come way later on) Ill at least …

I finally finished (yeah, right!) the system in my 2002 Toyota 4Runner. I couldn't have done it without everyone's help here on the SSA forums, particularly denim, SSaudio, SoundSplinter, mrray13, and probably others that I'm forgetting (sorry!). Anyways, enough with the chatter. Enjoy your build log pr0n! I originally saw this design and thought it would be a nice fit for my daily SQ system. After reading that mrray13 achieved good results, it was a no-brainer to move forward with this instead of the typical sealed, since I have the room for it. Here I'm dry-fitting the first cuts for the TL box. Cutting out the front panel. Proof that this really is the TL box…

I have been a busy man the past month and thought I would share the results. It's been cold and wet so the pics are going to be limited. Work was more important since time was a factor. Next house will have a BIG garage. Working in the elements has it's challenges. Lets get this party started. I decided I wanted to try the XCONS out sealed and I sure am glad I did. I still have HUGE output and the SQ improved in a big way. Nice tight bass that you feel in your gut. Amazing. Dont listen to that bullchit that you need a big ported box to get the XCONS loud. That is just not true and the people saying it have no experience actually doing it. These MF'ers wang in a sealed box…
