I was going to copy and paste from my thread on a gm trucks forum as this build started back in january but theres a lot of unneeded stuff in there. I went back and forth alot about what i was going to do and how. This system started because i had the typical driver side front speaker failure. I was going to merely replace all the factory speakers and run the amp off high level inputs from the stock head unit...boy did that change. My on experience in car audio previous to this was my 1991 jimmy when i was 16. It involved a head unit, simple speaker replacements using factory wires and two 12 inch mtx thunder 3000 (i think) subs in a bandpass box i bought at the pawn shop…

Hey everyone i am Ryan. You will here alot from me while i am building my new setup! I have a 2000 Isuzu Hombre (same as an S10), std cab, 5speed, 2.2 I had twelve RE 8's in the truck before the teardown, and now i am upgrading: here is an old pic: and for anyone interested it did 148 on the TL mic with a modified MTX 1501D amp. My new setup will look something like this: with 10 ascendant 8's ported with 6 aero ports tuned to around 45hz or so for comps, and if i plug up 3 ports it will tune the box to around 32hz for daily driven and i will be putting in four 5 1/4's or 6" mids in each door, along with 4 tweets in each door. i have yet to decide on brands for those…

Vehicle: 2002 Yukon XL Rims: 24" Milanni Voodoo's HU: Pioneer Double Din Amp: DC 3500 Subwoofers: (2)18" DC Level 4's This is my new build log and I will be updating it as I go. This will be incomplete until I catch up with photos. Be patient with me. I am getting my truck painted, upgraded, and of course my sound setup. Plus using my phone to get link codes from photobucket and working 12 hour shifts at the police department takes a lot of time. Stay tuned. Purchased the Truck on June 28, 2014. The truck as it was stock. This was the original hood, but I never took any photos of that side of the truck when that hood was on there. A week later I got a set of M…

well i know i havent been on the forums in many years been extremly busy with work and everything after i finally finished college and what not. long story short. started this build back in aug, wanted to do a totally restoration but i found my self a 68 chevelle malibu with a 307, isnt worth much if i restored it. so i am going to take it to a resto mod. big block of course, either lsx 454 or 572, Ford 9 rear end, pro touring front and rear suspension, interior completely redone and new, everything in this build is home made nothing has been taken to shops or anything. doing everything by hand and my own sweet and blood into this car. Well the time has come for me to go ahead and show some progress with the truck. This thing has been through hell and back with me from repairing the lower intake manifold to having its fair share of abuse from low tuning. The first setup consisted of 3 18's on 2 AQ 2200's strapped with a single XS D3100 in the back for support. Let's just say this didn't work and had me reconing the subs. Best recorded score of the 3 18's before blowing them. Sadly, I bought an alternator that was actually sitting in the backseat at the time I was giving a demo and blew the subs. Unfortunate for me, it was a fuckin Tenney that didn't work! It looked nice and legit though.…

What subs should we use for 4th order BP? We want a LOW tune around 25Hz-30Hz. Plenty of airspace available, 2 20"x20" square ports. 2 18's. Run off either one or two AP30001Ds.

I realized I hadn't posted this on SSA so here it is. My car is a 1996 Chevy Lumina LS and is my daily driver. Everything is pretty much stock except for a few things- Excessive Amperage 200A alt Big 3 0g Optima yellowtop in front Northstar NSB 90 0g front to back As of a couple days ago I had a budget stereo. RF power 5 1/4 and 6x9 coaxials in the stock locations. A visonik 240xt to power them. I have 2 but only run 1 10" RF power HX2 sub in a 1.75 @33hz off of a DUB8001 amp. My HU is a premier p490ib with my 2G nano connected to it. But right now, I replaced the DUB amp with an RF T10001bd and gave my 6x9's away. Nothing looks really nice because its still temporary.. a…

Starting a new build tomorrow. Going over to frogcase2002's house and we are going to build the box for them inside the trunk of my car. I'll post up some pics of the process and how I like the subs overall. My setup as of now is a single 12 inch zcon d2 running at 1 ohm on a Crescendo bc3500. A singer 250 amp alternator and a sundown sae 50.4 running a set of soundqubed components. Deck is a sony for now not sure of the model number. I have a pioneer 80prs I'm going to install sometime but i have to take it out of my truck first and i wanted to wait to get some better comps and figure out the best placement in my car for tweeters. I'll post up some pics here in a fe…

So last January I got the new 2014 fusion SE almost all loaded out. I'm doing an audio upgrade but started this week since it's been so damn cold out. It'll consist of: 2 15" DSS Ethos DD m3b Sundown SA6.5 comps (passive) Incriminator IA 3.4 Stock alt (I think 140) Die Hard Platinum G31 2/0 welding supply wire Stock H/U with LC2i I will upload pics later tonight if I get time. I'm finishing the box now. Just putting some extra bracing in then top goes on. Box is 6.5 cubes tuned to 31hz with 2 6" PVC pipes. I know it's not the best but it should do just fine.

Here's a simple install in my 90 325i. I was on a budget since this is pretty much my daily beater car. Sub, amp, wires, and materials all totaled around $150 but still sounds clean and clear. Plays loud enough for my tastes as well. Guessing around 120db. Will use a cheesy Radio Shack meter on the dash to get a rough estimate when I have a spare moment. Main goal was to keep it compact and still sound good. Didn't need earth shattering, just clean and clear. I can still rattle my side views and rear view pretty damn good though if desired. Equipment details. Kenwood KDC-X889 HU. Alpine Type R 3 ways up front. JL Audio 12w4-4 bridged on a POS Sony Xplod (inse…
