I had a Memphis 16-PR1.500.1 given to me a few days ago.I was told it was cutting in and out,so I hooked it up 4 days ago.The first 2 days no issues, went out yesterday started my car no output from the amp.I pop the trunk amp is on fan running, not in protect then out of nowhere it starts playing.May play two days may play 5 minutes, then it stops again,so I hit it with my hand it instantly goes back to playing! So I'm thinking something has gotten loose on the internals somewhere. Was curious as to what some of you thought about it.

I am trying to run the auto-eq on my unit. I keep getting an error message for outside noise. I am running in 3-way active mode. Internal amp is turned off. I did reset the head unit and tried again and still had the same error. I am performing the auto-eq in a very quiet closed garage. Any suggestions or help is greatly appreciated.

Ok, I'm trying to do the big 3 on my buddy's full-size 1992 Bronco 5.8L Windsor, but I am absolutely stumped. The alternator doesn't have a post and plug like I'm used to. It only has two identical plugs. Any thoughts on how I can do the big 3? Where the (+) would go?

I did some research and I realize they are mostly a build house for other car audio companies and are based out of Korea. I just can't really find any info on the amplifiers they put out under their own name. I was looking at the "Zenon World Competition Series 4 Channel Amplifier", but can't find squat for info or reviews. Just curious if anyone has any experience with this amplifier? Would you say it would be a good SQ amplifier to run a component set with? Thanks for any help.

believe me i know this is a stupid question but i had an argument with a guy from a mechanics shop and he doesnt believe me: if you have 2 DVC 1 ohm subs wired in series then together to come to a 1 ohm load and run that to a monoblock amp that is rated at 1600 watts rms @ 1 ohm, does that mean each sub gets 800 watts each or do they both get 1600 watts?

  8. Hello jw if box rise is influenced whatsoever by the number of amplifiers used in a system set up or if it is essentially the same regardless of how many amplifiers are used to power a set of drivers

Hey guys currently in the process of starting the big three. I've got my battery negative to chassis** done and my alternator positive to battery positive done. I'm still confused on the grounding. 1) Should I go from engine to battery negative and from frame to battery negative? 2) Should I go from engine to frame and then from that same frame spot to the battery negative? 3) Should I go from engine to the same chassis ground that is mentioned above**? And not ground the frame in the upgrade process? Any other suggestions??

I am soon to be grabbing a new sub amp and was offered a new taramps 5k for a pretty good price. I have just read several times on the questionable durability/reliability of the taramps name. Is it worth it to spend near to twice the price for the same power? I am seriously torn here... For what it's worth, 2 xcons or ethos will be on the receiving end of whatever amp I choose. Most likely xcon as I already have one.

I was looking for some help on configuring a dreadnought. This is what I have: Pioneer HU with subwoofer out Zed RA Zed Dreadnought 2 - SA12's DVC D-2 (wired for 4 ohms) The RA has a mono single RCA output. I believe I need to run a Y - RCA splitter into the Dreadnought. I want to run the Dreadnought bridged. Beyond that I am unsure of what configuration and how to set the Dreadnought.

I thought this might make a worth while thread for anyone getting ready to buy wire/cable and wants to shop around. This isn't meant to do any bashing, it's just to let people know what they can expect when ordering some wire. If you care to add to the comparison, please have at least two varieties compared(don't just post a pic of some wire). List the Manufacturer, Size, and location of purchase. From left to right... 1. I have a xp2000 in the back and when I bought it I put it in my car and it charged at 13.1 or 14.4 @ 2k rpm. A few days ago when I turned my car on my voltage was at 13.1 like it normally charges at but when I revved the engine it wouldnt charge to 14.4, it slowly then dropped by .1 around per day until I unhooked it because it got to around 12.2. So I checked my connections and grounds and saw no problems. I then looked at the front battery and it was charging at 13.1 and 14.4, but the xp2000 in the back does not charge when its hooked up. So I hooked it up to a charger overnight and it read about 14.4 in the morning and unhooked it, I then went to work and came back…

  21. First up i bought a decent power acoustic equalizer off amazon and hooked it up but it doesnt work when i turn the head unit from aux back to radio, it has cd/aux rca, sub rca, and front/rear rca's so i have it hooked from my head unit to the amp and back to the equalizer is this right? Second question probably is a stupid one but i bought the nice crescendo 6.5" component set and it came with crossovers, are these needed if i have a equalizer? if so is there a diagram on how to wire the crossovers to the mids and tweeters? thanks in advance

So I've been looking online for answers to my dull sense of fully understanding these questions. I have an alpine cde149bt, that I am just not fully comprehending. I have read up and down and searched forums to some avail, but not fully. Im hoping you gurus can help to clarify some things. Now, I have xover settings, with f/r hpf, lpf, frequency and slope. Now I understand these all fairly well, but on this, where I have gotten confused is: does the front hpf control highs, and rear hpf control mids? Or is it as it sounds, front does front, rear does rears? Next is, by setting frequency, slope and levels on xover, how much of an affect does it cause within bands of parame…

Just got the new four channel in! Im confused as to how to set four gains when ill be bridging the amp to run my H.a.t. Clarus's into two channels. The gains are all the way down now so they are all equal. Amp sounds great as is but just a tad lite on gain. The amp btw is a Arc audio ks 125.4 mini.
