I know absolutely nothing about amps i want an amp just for this sub: http://www.amazon.com/Pioneer-TSW251R-Watt-10-Inch-Subwoofer/dp/B000E6Q1LC does the amp have to be a minimum of 600w? does it have to be pioneer brand bc the sub is pioneer? or does the brand make no difference? thanks!

Got my alternator in and hooked up today, but had a few issues. First of all, the new alt came with a different plug. One of the wires was longer than the other three, and it was in the exact same place that there was a wire on the original plug (the original is a 4-pin, but there is only one wire leading into it. This one wire is in the same location as the one long wire in the new plug). I decided to just use the old plug, as the other three plugs on the new pin are insignificant. We fired it up, and it made a low humming sound and began to smoke. I smelled something funny, not necessarily burning but kind of like it. I have never seen an alternator smoke before, so it …

I was driving around pushing the system in my tahoe no harder than i usually do and it shut off. i get home and check fusing and all externals are good but 2 of the internal 40a fuses blew.. one has a huge black spot on it and left a bunch of nasty residue on the amp.. I plan to go out and just buy some more 40a fuses tomorrow but im wondering how in the hell it happened? connections in this vehicle are solid, or i would have blown ANL fuses. Does this happen when pushing a system pretty hard? Its just never happened and it has me concerned why it happened and COULD i have damaged my amp? Had this system up and running with absolutely no problems for about a year now. any…

Well, I got this HU brand new last year. I love it (but im gonna be gettin a DEH-P860MP when I can afford it), but for now this thing will work. However, when I turn it off, then turn it back on, it takes 13 seconds to load the CD and resume play, on an MP3 CD. I know that may not sound like a long time, but it really is. Anywayz, when I stick in a regular CD, the resume time is 3 seconds or a little less. It used to load my MP3 CD's just as fast as it does regular CD's. It started doin this for some reason for a while, then I hit it or sumthin, and it started workin fine again. But now, since I loaded a regular CD in, it started loadin my MP3 CD slowly again. I cant get …

My amp blew today:( so now i'm in the market for a new amp asap! I figured i'm just going to re do all the electrical because i was just using two o reilly batterys (not the best idea, i know) I'm running the 2 sa15s still in my Jimmy. I'm thinking I might run 2 xs power d1200's (unless you guys have other suggestions) I'm not really positive on my battery budget until I get the amp bought. I'm trying to keep my amp budget right around $500. Thanks guys!

sometime in the future i will be putting one hell of a ocmputer in my truck for MP3 sotrage only. there are 2 ins. Min and Line Level (same voltages as RCA) in. From what ive been hearing sometimes the impeadance of the line in is too low for most RCA ins. this causes a lot of distortion with the singal. However for my RCA's for hte moment i will probably end up getting one of thoes peaker level to line level converters untill Xmas when i can get a good 2din HU...lol i am so cheap. so my question is, because my head unit i used to seeing a 4ohm impeadance and the line level in is of s much higher impeadance will i have to worry about any distortion at all? im setting my…

I have a pair of Alpine Type-R's dual 4 ohm version. I currently have them parallel to a 2 ohm load at the amp. I fear as though my amp sucks (i know this for a fact its a Volfenhag). My question to the amp gurus is what amp i should use for the pair. I could always parallel the remaining wires to a 1 ohm load to a mono block. Wondering what kind of amp would be the best. I currently have an Alpine 9843 HU in my car which is currently powering 4 Infinity 6022i's. I want to get two 12" BL subs and will be powering them with a sundown 1500d (will be getting a 2nd one when i get more money). I have about 400$ to spend on a new headunit, and would like to get a motorized DVD one, but if i can't get a decent one i'll just get a normal CD player. So, do you guys think i'll need a new HU, and if so any suggestions?

Am not sure on this so correct me please if am wrong. I currently have a AQ2200 and was wanting to make sure am setting my gains correctly. I want to get as much clean power out of this amp as I can to really push my 15" IA DP. I spoke to the guy at AQ and he said that this amp is around 86% efficient. So just to be on the safe side lets just say its 85%. So 0.85 X 2200 gives us 1870 watts. Am running the amp at 1 ohm so would setting my gain to around 43.0 volts sound right. Oh yea, all my electrical have been upgraded (220 HO alt. extra batt, 2 runs of 0 gauge for the big 3.) Does Anyone know if this amp can run at 0.5 ohms, if so what type of power does it produce. Any…

  19. I'm about to install my system, looking around at the stuff I have sitting around, and I started to wonder if there may be a better way to do this. Here's my plan: PG RSd 65 components in Front 2x Sundown SD-1 (the old 8 ohm ones - which creates part of my dilemma) sealed in 1.5^3ft. Sundown SAX-100.4 So, the original plan was simple, run the components off the front channels using the passive XO included with them. Run the subs parallel off the rear channels of the amp. Lots of flexibility with the subsonic filters, bass boost, active XO in the sundown, as well as some basic stuff on my HU. Simple right? Then, I realized I have this old RF 200a4 sitting here unused. …

  21. I've got an Eclipse CD5030 with the optional tuning mic and I can't seem to get the auto time alignment nor auto EQ to change any settings. I've read the online manual and I'm fairly sure I'm doing it correctly, each time I do either setup the HU displays "Completed" then I hit the Enter key and none of the settings change. Any suggestions?

So i'm currently running a 12" Icon and while it's an awesome sub, Im wanting to go bigger already. I just want to push a lot more air. I'm pretty set on an 18" Fi BL or maybe 2 18" Q's. I'm wanting to feed it more power though also so Im thinking of either buying another 1000D and strapping them together, or selling my 1000D and picking up a 3000D. Would that be overkill? Ive got an Eddie Bauer Explorer(v8) and already have the Big 3 upgrade. I'll be picking up an Iraggi alt. and a Yellow Top as well. Would I need to run two batteries with this setup?
