so i was surfing the web and came across another forum were a guy says he wired 3-diodes together and put it on his electrical and it went from 14.10 to 15.45, so my ? is what exactly causes this to work and were do you wire them in at? it looked as tho it was on the alt, wiring?

I've got Dodge Magnum R/T with 160A stock alternator and from what I hear from other LX vehicle owners, the car's computer controls the alternator output...so upgrading my alternator isn't an option. So with my stock alternator what do you think is the most wattage I can run on my stock electrical? I know that an extra battery (or three) may be necessary along with Big three. Also, since my battery is in the rear, not under the hood, how does that effect things?

I've got an Eclipse CD5030 with the optional tuning mic and I can't seem to get the auto time alignment nor auto EQ to change any settings. I've read the online manual and I'm fairly sure I'm doing it correctly, each time I do either setup the HU displays "Completed" then I hit the Enter key and none of the settings change. sometime in the future i will be putting one hell of a ocmputer in my truck for MP3 sotrage only. there are 2 ins. Min and Line Level (same voltages as RCA) in. From what ive been hearing sometimes the impeadance of the line in is too low for most RCA ins. this causes a lot of distortion with the singal. However for my RCA's for hte moment i will probably end up getting one of thoes peaker level to line level converters untill Xmas when i can get a good 2din HU...lol i am so cheap. so my question is, because my head unit i used to seeing a 4ohm impeadance and the line level in is of s much higher impeadance will i have to worry about any distortion at all? im setting my…

Ok guys, I'm befuddled, so I'm hoping someone here can enlighten me. (without flaming me too much) I am in the market for a simple headunit. I am currently rebuilding my system and have plenty understanding of what I need and how to install it. What I am looking for, is a couple of technical fill-ins, to add the WHY to my WHAT & HOW. My system now has god-awful alt noise. I inherited it, so I just learned to turn the HU volume waaay down, and my aux input volume waaaay up, which sorta solved the problem lol. I was originally thinking of going with the alpine 9886 unit, but are there any other notable HU that stand with this unit. Ive looked at pioneers, dont really like their single knob and form, Ive looked at Eclipses, and I dont really like the display, But I havnt looked at Kenwoods, im sort of thinking they lack in quality but my buddy has a touch screen and loves it, so he recommended get a Kenwood. Hey guys i just installed my new Alpine CDA-9886 deck and a pair of Infinity Kappa components and they just are not loud by any means i have set my gains on the 2 channel amp running them (MTX 502X). Now i am really confused the amp's birthsheet said it was rated at 69 watts rms per channel and my factory speakers in the back are louder. Any input would help thanks in advance. Brian

ok so i kknow atleast for my vechile 01 gmc sierra that the dual alt brakcets are pretty simple design.. cant fathom spending 200plus dollar for a piece of cnc cut 3/8 steel. so basically was wondering if anyone has made their own dual alt brackets, who all sell dual alt brakcets?

I plugged in my moto rokr on my head unit (pioneer 5100ub) & the unit started saying "check usb" now it keeps saying that for all my usb drives. I read the manual & it says that the device had a short circuit or something. Anyone ever had this problem before? How do I fix it.
