Little update for anyone who has not lost interest yet.... I spoke to someone at XS Power today about my options. I explained my situation, and was told that the D1200 will provide more power than the Optima Red Top, however using the Red Top along with a D680 will provide more power than just a D1200. The larger XS batteries will not fit the vehicle correctly. Either too large, or the wrong orientation for the terminal polarity. XS was very honest with me saying that the Red Top + D680 would work very well since I already have the Red Top. Since I don't have easy access to XS batteries, I grabbed a 20L-BS AGM power sport battery off the shelf which has similar dimensions…

While sitting here thinking about how i keep reading about capacitor or battery topic.. this popped in my head. So, i am curious... With the new XS VCM, will this not only replace MLA but also capacitor use period? For those that don't know what an XS VCM is, let me briefly describe it. Last week my CDA-9886 started doing this thing where, from what I've noticed, at high volumes it will just restart in the middle of a song and keep restarting unless I turn it down. Running 1 Treo SSX 12 powered by an RD 1750.1D at .5 ohms for 2500 watts. Got a nice wal mart bat up front with 800 cca and a shuriken bt100 in the back, big 3 and all 0 gauge of course. Talked to the guy who's sold me RD stuff before and he said if it were the amp it wouldn't making the HU restart like that...which I pretty much knew. From what I gathered it's either a loose wire or worse, the HU isn't getting enough amps because of a shitty power cord to it... just wanted to get some opinion…

I need some advice on how to tune my system. I've got the following...yes they are a bit old but in great condition. Alpine CDA-7844 SoundsStream Rubicon 404 and 702 amps MB Quart 6.5" components with MusiComp crossover MB Quart 2 ways with regular crossover for rear. The 404 is driving the mids/highs and the 702 is hooked up and ready for when I buy a sub. My question is how do I got about figuring out what to set the gains at? Also do I need to set the 404 to high pass and 702 to lowpass? If so, what frequency should I set them each at? The HU has a setting for the "bass control center frequency". Here is the situation, I am looking into buying some 100wrms component speakers. I found this amp (Alpine MRH-F255) in my friends trunk and he said I could have it. After searching the internet i found out that it is running 35X4rms along with a subwoofer channel. Does anyone know how I would go about bridging this amp into a 2 channel (if its even possible). This amp is running a wire harness for its speaker outputs and so I have absolutely no idea on how I would bridge it... And if I cant bridge it, would 35 watts sound better than just the head unit to power the speakers (most likely Alpine spr-17s or sps-600c)? I have a DHD NTX-2009 4 channel amp it does 250w x 4 max output. I wanted to use it for my mids and highs. I bought it used $20 on craigslist, expecting there to be errors and that maybe I can fix it. Right now I'm in a stump because I can get it to turn on, but it doesn't output sound, music. All my wires are correct and the fuses aren't blown so what could be a problem? I'm not really good at fixing amps or troubleshooting but maybe you guys can help. Ex. Had it hooked up in my truck wired to my door speakers and tweeters, played some music and the only output was my subs on my SAZ 1500. No sound from my speakers. So im about to buy a daily BTL 18 with cooling, the HiXm coil, and whatever color dustcap. (any one color look awesome to you guys?) I don't have much money for an amp, only about $400 so i'll probably buy a temporary one untill i get enough money (that sundown audio stuff is WAY too expansive...). yes another one of those threads... I know which batteries are better then others. But when you look at what you get for a certain amount of money, then it gets hard to choose. This is for a comp/daily setup, not only burps. I have: Hifonics Colossus II (3000W rms), SS Ref4.920 (600W rms), Two Fi Q 18" and a HO alternator from Iraggi rated at 250A. Sub pops when I turn off the car. Talked to physics teacher and he says it is probably a surge that happens when I shut the car off that makes the speaker pop. I am inclined to agree with him... What should I do to fix this problem? Amp= SAZ-1000D if that helps.

Ok, so I just received and hooked up my saz3000d and everything went smooth. It is a very powerful amp. However, I am having one issue. While the truck is NOT running and my head unit is paused, or the av source is off (it is a avic-n4 nav) so the hu itself is still on, and so is the amp. There is a low humming sound coming from my subs. Something else I notice is when I touch the amp it either goes completely away or almost does. Can anyone shed any light on this for me please. More info you may want: I have quality rca jacks no where close to any other wires. I relocated my ground with no change. I have a memphis eq.

First question: What is a "float charge"? I've heard the term a few times, but never what it means. Second: How do you maintain a "float charge"? Friend, I am from Nicaragua and have a couple of questions: I have a single Rockford amplifier T20001 (2500 - 2800 rms ) with 2 TRF 12 ... and i hit 145.6 db.....Now.... i wanna buy another T200001....my question is: It could increase the db with another T20001 or not. How many db can i increase if put each T20001 with each TRF 12" 1.5? 2? 2.5? 3? Thanks

so i went to spl show and wanted to see what my two sq hds200 dual 2ohm that is wired for a 2ohm load and even checked them with d.m.m and shows 2.1ohms but my mtx thunder 1501d older style no elite suppose to do 1500wrms@2ohms with 14.4volts has 2gauge welding wire and at the car audio show it only clamped 844watts. I am looking at getting a Sundown 3000D and a 100.4, I have a stock 110 amp alternator but I think the car uses most of it because it has a lot of electronic crap. So would I be fine maybe getting like two deep cycle batteries one for starter and one for system and running a isolator, or am I gonna have to get a HO alternator? The only way I can get an alternator is to get it custom made and I'm sure that won't be cheap. k, well i went and got a dual 30amp fuse power dist. block. i got questions that need sum answers. 1.) how do u wire up a capaciator with the dist. block? 2) and i was wondering if i need a fuse block as well? since the power dist. block has dual fuses then i thought that i wouldn't need that. 3.)how do u wire up 2 rcas from the deck to 2 amps? the deck only has one set of rcs. but i have 2 y spliters layin around. how would i hook them up? thanks.

YO, I am getting ready to set up a dual alt in my 2001 chevy astro van but the last few days alone it has been 90+ degrees so i am very indifferent about getting rid of my A/C if anyone knows of anyone that was able to keep A/C and run multiple alts please share. I am willing to get rid of my belt driven fan and go electric as well as add cold air intake to free up space in front of the belt and pulley area if anyone knows a way to Fab up something. I bought a P800PRs from a online store, but they managed to send me the old version P880PRS. And since I live in Norway it's a big hassle to send it back to the US. Except from the black frontplate on the newer model and the copper plated chassis, are there any other differences between those two models?
