Ok I just got an audio pipe 1300 amp it's a 2 channel amp. If I wire it two the outside + and - and hook it up to a 4 ohm single coil sub will that show as a 2 ohm load bridged and give it 600 watts or read it as 1 ohm and 300 watts??

I need some info on these things..I've ALWAYS added an after market head unit to all my vehicles in the past. I've always though that is the best way if you want a good system. Well, I have the chance to uby an 08 Cadillac cts. Clean as hell and would be by far the nicest vehicle I've ever owned...but I'm a bass head. So questions would be.. If a clean sounding, hard hitting system is my goal will the LOC be the wrong purchase? Maybe I have the wrong idea about these things? If an after market setup was available I wouldn't even be typing this but as far as I can tell it doesn't exist. Appreciate anything you guys can add to this, its killing me that not being able to pu…

Hi, im sorta new to this stuff and i had several questions that i hoped can be answered. 1. Does an amp put out as much watts(rms) as they say they do? Does this also apply to cheaper amps? 2. When do i need to run a capicitor? 3. Can subs take more power than recommended by the manufacturer? 4. If i listen to mainly rock/metal what type of box should i use? I'd like it to be loud but also feel like some child is kicking the back of my seat. Any links would be helpful, thank you.

As the title states im looking for a new digital multimeter for a few reasons. I was looking on amazon and i see they have them ranging anywhere from $5 all the way to $200. I dont really know the difference one would have over another but im willing to spend anywhere from $10-$25 as its just for a few purposes here and there. If anyone has any options on a good decent DMM feel free to post them here as it may also help people in the future to decide which ones to get. Thanks in advance

Ok. Got a brand new Audiopipe aqx-1800d (NOT the popular AP series. The new "better" ones.) It's in a less than optimal install which consists of 4-gauge wire that's only fused for 80 amps and just an upgraded starting battery. I set the gains pretty low and it was just fine. No voltage drop or anything. Then it sat in the car overnight exposed to the elements (read: heat) and all kinds of crazy shit happened. It kinda falls asleep at low volume, and by that I mean it cuts off completely no protect light. If I play it loud and it heats up it cuts off then too, with no protect light then either. It seems like it comes back on when it cools off but it just cut off again an…

  8. I bought a KICKER 11VS12L72 ("that box has a dual 4 woofer wired down to a 2 ohm load. So you want an amp that is 2 Ohm stable") And I'm trying to find recommendations from the experts for an amp. I am leaning towards the SoundStream DTR1.1700D that is on a sale for $188 online. Might buy it tonight if I don't find anything better.

I have a 160amp alt, SHURiKEN SK-BT60 (Cranking Amp 1500, Amp Hours 60) under the hood and I want to run a saz1500 at .5ohm with 2 more 300 watt amps and have a stable voltage around 12+. Would 1 sk-bt20(20 AH, 850 Cranking Amp) be enough, what are your recommendations or thoughts? also 2 sk-bt20s would be the same price as 1 sk-bt35 (35 AH, 950 Cranking Amp)

I have a DHD NTX-2009 4 channel amp it does 250w x 4 max output. I wanted to use it for my mids and highs. I bought it used $20 on craigslist, expecting there to be errors and that maybe I can fix it. Right now I'm in a stump because I can get it to turn on, but it doesn't output sound, music. All my wires are correct and the fuses aren't blown so what could be a problem? I'm not really good at fixing amps or troubleshooting but maybe you guys can help. Ex. Had it hooked up in my truck wired to my door speakers and tweeters, played some music and the only output was my subs on my SAZ 1500. No sound from my speakers. And does anyone know a place I can trust to ship …

The xtant is a 3 channel amp 75x2 + 150x1 at 4ohms or 150x2 + 300x1 at 2 ohms. The system is going in a Ford 350 dully. The doors have 6x9's. My original thought was to run ID's 2ohm 6.5 comps in the front and doing nothing in the back doors. Then running a single IDQ 10" or 12". Also thought of running 2 sets of 4ohm comps or coaxials in front and back doors. I haven't decided on a HU yet. Mainly just looking for one more geared for SQ and one that will run an ipod. I have plenty of time on this build and am not commited to anything but the xtant 603x. Any thought's would be appreciated.

Hello I recently picked up two Kicker L7 12s (yesterday) and I need and additional amp to power both of them. I have a kicker 750 installed from a previous system, But I don't have the money at the moment to but another 750. So I found a deal on craigslist a guy selling 600.1 for 75 bucks. I made arrangements to meet with him tomorrow. Will having tow different power amps cause an audio problem? I know its a funny question and probably stupid but I just didn't know. Never tried it and didn't want to run into problems down the line. The sub boxes that I built are separate so they don't share air. Here is a picture of my trunk and one of the subs installed: The sub is moun…

I am looking for two bass control knobs for two kicker amps. Two questions 1) will a generic or other brand "phone line" bass controller work with my kicker amps? 2) Why are they so darned expensive. ppl are asking 25-30 bucks for them, essentially they are a potentiometer with a rubber dial? I dont see where the cost is incurred.

I now run a PPI DCX 1000.1 running 2 IDQv3 subs. A shop in town has had this US amp MD23 sitting on the shelf for a few years now never been used and has marked it way down. Comparing the specs it seems like the US amp would be better for SQ but it is an A/B so the PPI is probably more efficient. PPI S/N 80%, US amp S/N 105%, PPI damping 50, US amp damping 600. I also like the fact that I can run my subs at 2ohms instead of 1 ohm. Anyways this is something I don't have to do but it would be nice to try something new. I don't want the US amp if it's going to drain my electrical system real bad. Any input would be greatly appreciated

What do you guys think about this stuff, not looking to spend a whole lot, just need to wire up my subs, but i dont want any problems in the future with it http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_1631_25-ft.-of-OFC-12-Gauge-Speaker-Wire.html You guys think this stuff will do the job for just wiring up my subs in the box?

  25. For over a year now I thought my amps were fully shutting down when the dome lights did. They have not been, but I didn't start suffering low volatge the next morning until recently.... which means that my batteries must have been stronger before but doing this over a year has damaged them marginaly. Today I was waiting for my GF with the ACC in the off. After 15 minutes the toggle switchs shut off and the deck shut off...as they should. I looked in back, sure enough the amps were off... wait... the red lights on the 3 KX amps were off and the blue display was off on the SX...but I saw a faint green glow. I stuck my head through the port and looked at the bottoms of the a…
