Don't really see a security section, but I just had a quick question regarding Directed units that feaure the dual stage impact sensor that is an internal part of the main unit. I used to mount external impact sensors to the steering column shaft. I always seemed to have good results with the sensitivity there. Anyway, the new units that are all integeral, state in the install manual "since the shock sensor does not work well when mounted firmly to metal, we recommend against screwing down the control module" So how and where is the best place to mount to control module? I just installed one top of the line 2 way unit earlier with zip ties to part of the metal dash brac…

I was asked by Denim to repost this for our SSA family. Original post is here: http://customizeyourvehicle.org/viewtopic.6481.html but anyways, here we go. I'm gonna seperate the sections to make it easier to read. If you have anything to add please do so. I am going to break it down into seperate post just to make things easier to read. What is the advantage of dual voice coils? The primary advantage of the dual voice coil speaker is wiring flexibility. A single dual voice coil driver offers the user three hookup choices...parallel, series and independent. In a parallel hook-up the drivers impedance will be half that of each individual coil (a dual 4 ohm speaker would…

So I failed to mark the ground terminal on my Dynaudio MD 100 tweeter when I took it apart as I want to paint the surround black (don't care for the grey). Now I find that I can't tell which is the '+' side as the speaker will go back in either way and the posts are identical. I took it's twin apart more carefully but find the opposite terminal was '+' on it's surround case. Now I'm more confused than usual. Are these tweeters not phase sensistive?

I've had a buch of bass installs , never payed much attention EQíng the front stage because the bass was simply to loud to notice the flaws the frontstage had Now I want to attempt to get a frontstage that is more than decent , no SQ comps , just for my enjoyment I want have it really good . A good part of a system is EQing the system to get the staging tonal balance just right , but with what music or reference tracks best to do that with ? reason I'm asking is because I keep turning on knobs cause I can't find "it" what I'm looking for with the music I'm familiar with .. there must be some stuff that can get you close in "steps" followed in a logical order

Can anyone give me some ideas on fixing these cracks in my car's trunk floor? I'm aiming to get a good seal so it won't leak and for it too not crack again once I put my sub back in. Oh and I'm trying to spend as little money as possible so I could use some cheap ideas. I appreciate any input. Goes past the deadening to where my finger is.. And then there's this..

Hey Guys, I am new to this forum and throught I would try to contribute. If anyone is looking for reapir manuals, owner manuals or service manuals for virtually any type of car, there is a FREE ebook at the address below. I asked him could I download and share it, but he said he prefers to have people come to the website. The site itself isn't the best, Sometimes there are annoying ads and surveys. The ebook is only a couple of pages, but it gives a list of places online where you can find almost any service and repair manuals, even for very old models and trucks. I would highly recommend to download it and keep it on your computer. Website - 1000’s of Free Car Van a…

Question on wiring and fusing. I'm going to get 2/0 scha cable, from my 320a alt to my batteries I I fuse 2 times on one run right? And you add up the fuses on the run, for example if I had to use lets say 500a on the run I'd do 2 250s on the run, one by the alt and other by the battery? Just trying to be safe and get it all right

I am currently running 2ohm kicker cvr's on a zx750.1 amp i recently blew one of the subs. so i purchesed two kicker CVX's 12"s 2ohms I was wondering how i should wire these two to the amp I kow the amp is under rated for these subs but i plan to get a better amp later on. I would asume the kicker 750.1 amp be good enough I dont need to push the VCX's to the max Becuse they are right behind the seats in a single cab 09 F150.

Hey guys I have never installed HIDs before and I was hoping someone here could help me. I looked up what kind a 94 toyota 4runner needs and they say Its 9004 so I ordered a hi/low kit from ddm tuning. I figured out most of the shit of the install pretty Simple theres just one plug I can't seem to find a place for. I am guessing it's what tells the lights to go on and off from the switch. Here's a pic of the plug in the instructions that don't come with it that you have to go to their website for say it should just be hanging loose somewhere, but i can't seem to find it. Link to download instructuons Where would I find this? Is this even the right plug for it? Any help …

Saw some people unsure of how to do this in the Hop figured it'd be really quick to make a how to on this. It's very simple to do but sometimes pictures make all the difference...Since I've cleared my cache/cookies I haven't received an error from this site Step 1: Goto chrome options - Select History Step 2: Select "Clear All Browsing Data" Step 3: Check Empty the Cache Check Delete Cookies Select Clear Browsing data and you're done.

I have read many places different ways to determine the output of your amplifier as it is in your car, but none have given me the information I need to do this myself. I will be auditioning several amps in the next few weeks, and would like to have real numbers as they pertain to what my subs will really get. Can anyone break it down to where I can mess it up, as far as how to go about this, what equipment I will need, and the approximate cost of the equipment? I'm sure I'm not the only one that would love to do this, and this will allow me to give accurate results and power output when I'm testing the amps. Thanks in advance.

Ok here is what I was wondering if I get a 16v alternator an ran hc16v with the 12 an 16 volt terminal would I just connect the alt to the battery 16v side to charge. Then run my 12v electronics from the 12v post an the amp to the 16v. Just wondering if this is how it would work cause i'm considering this setup if it doesn't get to much more complicated. Thanks an sry if this all sounds to stupid or wrong.

Hey guys, often times in fiberglass installs you will have multiple speaker rings that require being mounted at the exact same angle in order to maintain perfect symmetry. You do not want to spend hours on a piece that in the end has angles that are not the same. How can you insure that your speaker angles are perfect without measuring a million different angle and points? Here is my quick tip of the week to show you how:
